Re: KDrama Rewatch in the Den : Bizarre Bunch

Welcome back , Nelly . Of course I didn't get right back . For some reason I might have been dragging my feet . I guess part of me is conflicted about this rewatch coming to an end . I have not been watching K dramas as much of late and I realize I miss them . I am going to try to follow some again , though I find it more difficult now . It is really a solitary endeavor . We don't have the structure of following the airing on the channel and we do not appear too have the group we once had . I am sad about that . I know , however that times change

166
If I had to pick a favorite episode , it would probably be this one . I had forgotten a lot of what went on ,but the church scene between Sukhyun and Minsook was the pinnacle of this story for me ....but I am getting ahead of myself .

I was surprised when Nara pulled off being gracious to just about everyone . I am not sure I would ever consider her trustworthy , but she seemed to get over her stupidity in regards to her son and finally step up to the plate . I guess if I were in the story I would also just be grateful that the transplant was going ahead .

The church scene was the culmination of relationship between mother and son .Minsook gets to tell her truth , and Sukhyun comes to realize the amount of love pain and sacrifice that it took to save his life to this point .I guess he can see both of his mothers clearly , and he can feel both love and gratitude .

When he grabbed Minsooks hand in the ICU , I felt there would always be a special relationship between them , and if Nara has a problem - well it is hers alone .

You know , I know a person that I can see Nara in - well in her flip flopping and even her jealousy . The kind of jealousy where that person doesn't want to share other people's company with her own children . I will never understand that in any culture , but again , that is HER and Nara's problem

On the whole a wonderful episode !

Just a quick response to your post.... Yes, Nara did finally do something right, and I suppose, good for her. But she is Nara and she will always be Nara. Maybe a less harsh version is emerging but I can pretty much guarantee that Suky and Minsook's understanding and loving relationship will have to remain (forever) quiet, discreet. Nara is too jealous to allow anything but an occasional aunt/nephew meeting.

I think from here on out, Nara will allow herself, Jaeman and Suky to attend family gatherings at Granny's. But Suky will always have to be careful not to show too much affection for Minsook. Somehow, I think Minsook and Suky will be oK with this. They had their revelation and they each know what the other feels.

Nara will always be queen of the "B" to me. emoticon OK, on to 167.... lol yep, ending is just around the corner.

167

Well, I agree that 166 was one of the best episodes. But 167 to me is the worst. Everyone was so greedy about that property deed. Everyone was counting the chickens before........ I can't believe they acted so ignorant and acted like that before having it checked first. Worst episode!

168

Granny was so disgusted with everyone's fighting over the money that she ran away from home. However, I didn't like her acting like it was HER money anyway. Did everyone forget how this came about? Even Nara acts like she's the one that gave the money to begin with. Nara wouldn't have save Suky unless he was given to her. Nara's father gave GrandPA money (like buying Suky). GrandPA wasn't the parent... Minsook and Suky's dad are the parents. Yet they knew nothing about this money. They are the ones who had to give up their child. That child was PAID for so if there was any money, it should go to Minsook/hubby.

Anyway, Granny seems to think the money (2 million) is hers to give out. And Granny still got angry over the fighting for the money and ran away from home, where she ended up in the street stopping traffic because it was in the location where the property was. I'm sorry but this entire story (the money issue) is just ridiculous and uninteresting.

Jaeman and Jaeok both acted so greedy!

We did get to see a relationship starting with Jongnam and Nara. Nara seems to really accept Jongnam and Jongnam seems very thankful right now.

TWO MORE EPISODES TO GO!!!

The Changs aren't the first family to fight about money , and they won't be the last .

It seems the height of folly however to fight about money you 1) DON"T actually have and 2) Don't
know if you actually will have , As much as I like MOST of the members of this family , they are not striking me as very bright at this time .

Sukhyun is getting to go home , and he and Jongnam are going home to the home of Nara and
Jaeman . Nara abd Jaeok have packed up the apartment without telling them and while a part of me thinks that was presumptuous , the other part sees it as a very kind gesture . It would seem that neither Sukhyun nor Jongnam are up to the task .

I still wonder at the practise of the young couple living with the inlays , but this is a cultural difference I probably am no qualified to make a judgement on . If the parents are Nara and Jaeman , however , I would still be prepared for trouble along the way .

Do leopards really change their spots ? And did Jaeman ever seem any more obnoxious than he did today ?

Am just going to ignore OkDoo and her ex

Okdoo and her ex.. I wish they had gone a different direction with this storyline. Talk about a leopard not changing colors. I think they wanted us to believe he turned over a new leaf but as soon as he showed up, he was manipulative, creepy and controlling. He used his son to stay in a house he was not welcomed. Then they end them by making people think he changed and really loved Okdoo. How did he change? He was pulling the strings the entire time he was on the show. Hated they put them back together.

Maybe we won't see them again since I watched 168 and we only have one left? Two? Forgot. lol

Re: KDrama Rewatch in the Den : Bizarre Bunch

I am so sorry , Nelli , but I forgot to tell you that I was on vacation so I have not been posting or watching . I am back now so .....

168

I really didn't remember too much about this episode and I guess that is a good thing . I think the most disgusting thing is the way that Jaeman grabbed Kiwoong by the throat and accused him of lying about the worth of the land . Besides being accused of lying , he basically was calling him a thief if he thought that he was trying to swindle the rest of the family out of the money that would come from the supposed sale .

Kiwoong was as much of a victim of this as WELL as the messenger of the bad news . Then of course , Jaeman and Jaeok get so angry with each other that they refuse to come to the Chang home to greet Sukhyun on his return from hospital .

Lets face it : Grandfather Chang ( who we never meet ) was a total loser , so why would this situation work out any differently . Gram - well she reacted as Gram , and due to her age , I feel I have to give her a pass . She rigged the whole police station scenario so that the "children " would get overthem selves and get back to normal . I would have great difficulty moving past all this stuff = especially when you throw Nara into the mix .

Which is why I am glad I only have to watch it on DVD ( and I am grateful for that part )

Re:

But... how was it that Gram had any say in that money (even if there were some)? It was money Nara's father gave Granpa Chang in exchange for MINSOOK and JAEDO giving up their son. TO me, if there had been even a penny, it ALL should have gone to Minsook and Jaedo. It was THEIR child, not granny's.

I suppose I never thought about this scenario in previous watches. But this time it just irked the heck out of me the way everyone was so greedy about money that didn't belong to them! Even Nara wanted some. What, does she want a refund now that Suky is over 30? OMG.... lol, so irritating.

Oh, Addie... Hope you had a great vacation! Got so mad posting above I forgot to mention it. emoticon

Thanks .Nelli !

Actually my vacation plans were changed /cut short because there is so much smoke from the fires up North .

I hope all these fires will be contained soon = but we haven't even entered our usual "fire season yet !

Yes, Shopping King Louie is very cute. I am watching Still 17 (aka 30 but 17) right now and it's really cute too. Lead in SKL is Seo Inguk. He is just adorable in this.

169
Well, this episode is the wedding of Jongnam and Suky. Nara somehow transformed into a human. Suky and Jongnam are now living with Nara and Jaeman and Jongnam is working again for Well Being.

Of all the movies, dramas, etc. I've seen of pregnant women, I have to say Jongnam is the most beautiful and natural looking of any!! Kim Ah Joong is just beautiful and Jongnam is more beautiful in this episode than any other.

Kiwoong, his father, sister and sis' boyfriend are running a very successful lunchbox cafe. And they all seem very happy.

Jongnam has a tender moment with her mother before the wedding, telling her how much Jaeok taking her in has changed her and given her life. It was really sweet.

170 next. WOW....

Re: KDrama Rewatch in the Den : Bizarre Bunch

I just finished watching

169

and I have to admit I got that warm fuzzy feeling all over again . We are ahead a few months and Jongnam is greatly pregnant . Sukhyun seems to have totally recovered and they are both back
working at Well Being . Minsook , as well , appears totally recovered . Kiwoong has started his diet lunchbox business and it seems to be thriving . We are not given the details of how it has begun , but Kiwoong has done it on his own . Not only did he turn down ByunDoo's investment , but also Nara .

Speaking of Nara , she seems to be greatly changed . She is living harmoniously with her husband , son and str in law . Not only that , she drops over to see Minsook and gram to ask their advise about something , and all the jealousy and attitude seems to be gone .

What's more , she has me believing it !

Nara wanted to put on a wedding for Sukhyun and Jongnam . Since they are already married , they didn't seem to want it at first . I think they agreed to please her , but to me it is even more than that .This proves that she accepts them . Of course the wedding is beautiful and touching , but there are moments when both Sukhyun and Jongnam appear to look serious and sad . It hit me then that after all they had been through , they were finally receiving the blessing of family and friends on their marriage . So it was a big deal .

When this show is good , it is very very good , and I find myself kind of sad to see it end ( again ) It brings back so many memories of a very special and fun time of my life ....and I guess it always will symbolize that time .

I would like to let nelli have the last word - so I will post after she does on the final episode
