COX Onscreen Schedule listing issues
class blockquote watchumlots wrote:
HEY! Does anyone know what happened to the COX KBS/MBC/TVK etc. schedules?
The drama titles are inaccurate since their HD update, at least with my cable provider. The titles were finally matching the shows that were airing, and now I am back to no-match-land.
Example: Feast of the Gods 11:30 - 12:40 = May Queen 11:20 - 12:30
(don't know if this is accurate, but it's an example)

Re: COX Onscreen Schedule listing issues
We have a few COX members, hopefully they can comment on what they are experiencing.
One thing I can say, COX has had issues with their programming grid data... Before, for several members, COX onscreen guide listed MBC America schedule for their different, MBC Digital, LA18.3 channel... So there is that track record of issues with the onscreen guide and schedule.
I can't speak to your issues on KBS, tvK listings as I have another provider... But on Time Warner, the exact same problem with MBC Digital is happening in the last two weeks, where it is listing older shows, like Dr. Jin or FotG instead of May Queen, and Can't Live Without You instead of Oh Jaryong.
This is more difficult to know where the source issue is in the case of MBCD, either the data grid operator that our cable provider pulls its data from, for some providers it is through TV Guide. Either they have not updated it, or MBC has not provided this week's data since they finalize the schedule the following week at the end of the previous week or they submitted it late.
Each channel operates independently so I can't comment on the other two, but in the case of MBCD, either it's their issue or the schedule programming grid operator, whoever that is...
How to fix it... Could be problematic since COX may not have any say in it. All one can do is call them, but also email MBC America and hope one contact source can fix it... If you email MBC America, be sure to provide you cable provider, but also your zip code or they wont be able to track the problem.
Sadly with these small niche channels, in my experience, this happens a lot sporadically. So I always check the online schedules on Monday and record based on that... I don't trust the cable onscreen guide when it comes to these channels... Problem is, the DVR depends on the onscreen guide, making series recordings impossible. I have to double check my scheduled DVR recordings everyday, to make sure it's recording the right time vs the program listed, which can change.

Re:
I have Cox cable super. Yes there have been ridiculous titles for wrong dramas and programmes for many weeks. I am deeply disappointed because they lost 'Queen Insu which I know was a long way from being finished. They still shwo the title but no drama. Same goes for 'Happy endings' which was also not finished. Strange titles show up for 'Jaryong' and also for 'May Queen' I don't know what is happening, but I venture that calling them will do no good really. I just go with the flow and click around to find a drama I want.

Re: COX Onscreen Schedule listing issues
I've experienced the same thing with the terrestrial guide. My experience in the past has usually been that the programs are not being updated correctly by someone at the individual TV stations. There would be rough patches nearly every time the interns would change, or they didn't have a new replacement. It usually seems to be one station whose schedule is out of whack, not all of them at the same time.
Another thing that fascinates me is I've noticed the time is sometimes different on the on-line guide between stations. For some reason I expected to see the time the same on each station, but then noticed that recently it has varied by up to several minutes on some of them.

Re:
Just a thought that maybe these people don't know how important Korean dramas realy are. If they liked them they would never be so sloppy.

Re: times and titles
Peoples,
Thank you for your input/insight/remarks. I am not crazy. I am not crazy. I am not crazy. Except for the K-Drama-thing.
The DVR is the real problem, it keys from the cable program schedule which is inaccurate even with start/stop times. It has to be set individually with start-early and end-late times. Just a hassle.
However, the one channel that seems accurate to the minute is UTB. Those guys can run a channel guide, must have had a lot of practice with train schedules.
