FYI - It looks like this drama is now slated to be 62 episodes. From the beginning, I had seen references to both 50 and 55 episodes in different sources.

Asiamediawiki.com - http://asianmediawiki.com/My_Love,_My_Family - now shows 62 episodes, with this drama to be replaced by one called Golden Pond, which is set to begin airing in S.Korea on August 6th. The Hancinema website also shows Golden Pond starting on August 6th. 62 episodes would fit with My Love, My Family ending on July 31st in S.Korea. Eps. 49 & 50 of My Love, My Family are set to be broadcast there this weekend (June 17 &18).

:-) nsheldon.

At least we could think that maybe...just maybe... that means that the writers have put their thinking caps on and will attempt to write an episode in enough time to change it before airing. At the moment I think they are handing new scripts and revisions as the scenes are being filmed.

A this time I am now hoping that the restaurant owner, turned business tycoon ,will move on and never come back to that silly girl. She is so brainless and devoid of any real human emotion of any depth.

Wow, those last 10 minutes with Ujin and Yunhui were intense but so satisfying. We don't usually get to see scenes like that for so long in these dramas. And a little voice in my head kept bringing up a term from my younger days. . .Bedroom Eyes. Lee Pilmo is just the best.

Re: K-Drama: 사랑을 믿어요 (My Love, My Family)

I'll give it a try, nsheldon. Yunhui was walking home after having dinner with her real uncle, a missionary priest who was visiting her. He had talked earlier withYunhui's adoptive father about whether it's time to add her name to the Kim family registry. As Yunhui draws close to the family gate, she sees Ujin standing outside it. She's hides, watching him as he looks wistfully at the house, a tear coming down his cheek. They eventually see each other and come within talking range, although not a whole lot is said. Ujin knew about the registry issue and the fact that Yunhui was not yet an official Kim.
The camera's emphasis was on their faces, back and forth, Yunhui trying to hold firm, saying (lying) that she was happy to be his cousin, and Ujin obviously in heartfelt pain. The camera panned back and forth from his gaze to her's and back, and you could read their unspoken thoughts just by looking at their eyes. Finally, when she starts to walk to the gate, he pulls her to him with one arm and asks if she couldn't stay as Choi Yunhui for a time. While he's holding her, he puts his other arm around her. Yunhui notices that and doesn't move, although her eyes show she's not certain what to do.

As for the other story lines, I think someone else may do a better job because the last scene as described above seems to have erased the rest of the episode from my memory! emoticon

Anyway, Mr. Art Director drives to Hyejin's parents' place and talks to her mother, who is wary as to who he is. Hyejin isn't there so he leaves but sees her walking. She's notl helpful to him and tells him to go on his trip as planned and her resignation from the gallery is between her and her husband.
Once she gets home, Donghan calls and "asks" for a favor, then TELLS her to call his parents. She hits the roof, telling him it's okay for him to upset HER parents but she should call HIS so they don't worry? She says no, she won't, and hangs up, leaving Donghan up a creek.

Lots of shouting in this episode. At breakfast, the ditzy daughter yells at Rani for dressing herself as she did, and Rani is upset. Mother yelling at everyone as usual. At some point, Granny talks to ditzy daughter who is upset because pork guy's sister beat up on her again when she was looking in the window of the restaurant, trying to figure out why a strange man was cooking. Granny says she'll never give advice to the ditz again because she never listens to her, so isn't worthy of the advice.

Ujin, with a shorter, "business" haircut, stops by a restaurant and gracefully excuses himself from having dinner with his mother and his U.S. girl friend, as he has to have drinks with some big-time producers (this before he later ends up at Yunhui's gate). I think his mother sees wedding bells between the two, but Ujin isn't biting.

I'm fuzzy about anything else and may even have some of the above out of sequence. All I really remember is that last scene between Yunhui and Ujin and his beautiful eyes. . .

kittypaws - I think you got most of it from Ep 37, but Ujin definitely doesn't know that Yunhui's adoption isn't official yet. He learns in the episode that she has a missionary priest biological uncle and asks her about seeing the uncle when he sees her at the end of the episode. Ujin asks her something like "If you were still Choi Yunhui - then could I be your boyfriend?" He also says something to the effect of why couldn't she have stayed Choi Yunhui at least until he (Ujin) got back to Korea. She (who knows the truth about her adoption status) tells him it wouldn't have made a difference because she would still have chosen to be her "adopted" Dad's daughter, that she likes being Ujin's cousin and that anything more scares her, but she clearly looks conflicted and is starting to cry. He ultimately asks if she can be Choi Yunhui for a moment, and then for 5 minutes before he grabs her & holds her, and the tears fall from both their eyes. I really don't think that Ujin knows the truth yet because he looks so sad - knows he's in love with her, but can't have her because (as far as he knows) she's his cousin.

I've decided that I could watch Lee Pilmo's eyes all day. They are certainly beautiful, but they are also just so expressive of what his character is feeling. He's the best.

P.S. I meant to add to my last post the following question:

Who (besides me for one) is mourning the cutting of Lee Pilmo's hair?

Re: K-Drama: 사랑을 믿어요 (My Love, My Family)

Haven't seen the haircut but I love Lee Pilmo w/shorter hair.

THANK YOU soooo much for the recap. I need to find this episode w/subs so I can watch the scenes w/Ujin & Teach. Don't really care about the rest of them and I'm so tired of all the yelling in that house. I really can't blame Hyejin for not smiling while she's there. I've seen her smile plenty of times.... every time she's with her daughter.

I kinda guessed that Teach hadn't been added to the family registry yet. I guess so that her and Ujin can eventually end up together... lol

That's why Lee Pilmo is my favorite Kdrama actor.... it's all in the face/eyes. He's really good. I never thought of him as 'eye candy' but he's nice looking and the very best to watch.

Thanks again for the recap. I really appreciate it.
