K-Movie: 김씨 표류기 (Castaway on the Moon)
Just had to mention this gem of a movie, which stands out from the usual dreary cinematic offerings in recent years from South Korea. Also known as "Kim's Island", this is a tale of a failed suicide attempt that turns into a funny castaway story on an island in the middle of the Han River (within sight of the high rise buildings of Seoul). Add to that a quirky reclusive girl played by Jeong Ryeo-weon and you get a very entertaining romp. Borrows a little from Tom Hanks performance in "Castaway", but adds a distinct Korean twist.
Worth seeing if you can stream it online. Sure not to disappoint.

I watched this film and loved it the first time. It has just finished again here in California for the second time and I loved it all over again. Fascinating story and really good director. Nothing went overboard which could have wrecked it but it stayed right on line.

Hope you found and enjoyed this film nchristi. It was different and quite impossible but very believable ! I was totally fascinated by someone stuck on an island within sight of the city. I think it could only happen in Korea.
