Re: K-Drama: 웃어라 동해야 (Smile Again)
one thing I can really appreciate about these producers is how they make the characters match - especially with their looks. (I noticed this in Personal Taste - Son Ye Jin looked almost like the same age with Lee Min Ho - luckily with LMH, he don't look very young.)
Bongi now looked so young with her new hairstyle - it's probably because she would be teamed-up with Carl. In Three Brothers, they made her a bit older - her role being an older woman for a younger husband (the cop). But I think they made Anna a bit too young with that bangs hanging from her forehead. I can see trouble coming - Anna is now willing to go on TV without Carl's permission. With his temper, we might see a Carl dragging Anna out of the TV station.

And before Carl drags Anna out of the TV station, he's likely to explode with Saewa for taking advantage of his mother behind his back. Saewa really is shameless—as the Koreans say.

Re: K-Drama: 웃어라 동해야 (Smile Again)
I caught the episodes from Wed up to last night. Luckily I'm not missing out on a ton of episodes like the other shows that are on, so I'm not completely lost on this one! LOL.
I'm enjoying this show quite a lot, it's got a nice balance of drama and comedy. I quite like Byun Sool Nyeo's character - she's trouble and seems like she'll be quite the source of drama and comedy. LOL I like the mischievous comic relief characters.
Already really like Bong Yi's character and am rooting for her to succeed and conversely dislike Saewa - seems to me like she's going to ditch Carl for richer pastures....
One of my first impressions of the show was on the Wed. episode when Carl and his mother got to the hotel. I'm really shocked Anna's actress is like 40 yrs old (I had to check to make sure) she looked really young. I really do wonder if Korean women have found the fountain of youth.
Looking forward to seeing more of this show.

Re: K-Drama: 웃어라 동해야 (Smile Again)
Haven't seen you post in a long time Super Rookie! Nice to see you here!
The first thing I thought when I saw 'Anna' was that she was Carl's girlfriend. I thought she was really young but she's playing a 40-something here.
Saewa was being mean to Carl's mother. She even pushed Anna's hand away. I thought Saewa really loved Anna? Saewa lived w/Carl and his mother for 6 years in the states. Saewa is so ambitious she's forgetting the people she once loved.

Re: K-Drama: 웃어라 동해야 (Smile Again)
The actress playing Anna is 42. In Three Brothers she played Scammer, married to the oldest brother, PIB ("pain in the b"). I believe she was supposed to be 39 (or maybe older) in that one, but pretending to be many years younger. She is very young and pretty looking. I remember how full of energy and agile she was as Scammer.

Re: K-Drama: 웃어라 동해야 (Smile Again)
It seems this show is stronger than the last two in this time period which I had stopped watching.
I do no dislike any of the characters as of yet except maybe the husband who owns the TV station. He seems a little distrustful. I just hope this show does not go down the path of least resistance and end up as silly as the last two.

Re: K-Drama: 웃어라 동해야 (Smile Again)
Scammer looked like she could be late 30's, but in this she looks really young. Maybe its because she's supposed to be mentally deficient and is untouched by reality, and because of that she acts so young. The manner in which she behaves has a lot to do with how old she looks. I thought she was Carl's younger sister for a couple of minutes.
Cookie did a transformation too. I like this look better. She's cute in this.

Re: K-Drama: 웃어라 동해야 (Smile Again)
Seems like Anna and Carl are the heirs to the Hotel(the child photo)not the current CEO and her son,so some conflict ahead. Carl should should get plenty of chances to show his hot temper.

Re: K-Drama: 웃어라 동해야 (Smile Again)
I have only caught one fast scene with Alex and he looks like a real nerd. what have they done to him? He was getting hot and bothered on the phone and he looks so unlike himself that I was not sure it was him.
Oh Dear.....

Oh Dear.....Yup yup...Alex got turned into a young looking nerd...hehe. I actually have never seen him in dramas before, but I've seen him on the reality show "We Got Married" and I just loved loved him on that show. I'm looking forward to see more of him but I have a feeling he's a secondary character. I want to see his charming self...keke.
This is also my first time seeing Park Jung Ah in a drama (at least to my memory) so I'm looking forward to this. In real life, she met her boyfriend in a dating variety show (I watched a lot of Korean variety shows...they're more fun than the American ones ) and his commercial is usually follow after the drama is done. The commercial has 3 guys wearing red outfits and I can't tell what they're advertising for. Her boyfriend is the one with the round face and sun glasses on .
Until tonight to see what will happen at the recording studio.
