Windows Media Center,

I had this programme installed almost a year ago. At the time I thought I understood what the technician was telling me re using it. H aHa!! ..since then I have been too busy keeping up with doctors so I left everything well alone.
Now I am trying to learn how to record a programme because I want to record the Japanese drama 'Kareinaru Ichizoku.' Or will it be called 'The Family ' ? So even if I am clever to sort out how to do it ...what should I call it...or will the station and time be enough to enter... Do I have to enter it every week or can I set it up to record the ten episodes each week...

You see how litle I know. It is not spelled out in the booklet by the way.
If anyone has this programme I will really appreciate any input at all.

this is a marvellous programme by the way. It does all sorts of stuff. You can record one show while watching another on the TV. etc. etc. etc/

Re: Windows Media Center,

I've never used Windows Media Center but it should come with a feature that lets your record a program based on the time, date. station. Mostly all recording programs lets you do this. Sometimes you may record by the name of the program as well. You can probably set it up to record each week for 10 weeks. But if it was me, I would set it up personally every week to be sure.

You should read up here to get more info on how to get started:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/mediacenter/default.mspx

I would also play around with the program and record shows just to get a feel for it.

Re: Windows Media Center,

Dear moises,
Really thank you for the post. I have been noodling around with this thing. I have to get used to using the second control which is like the TV control. I keep forgetting which I am using and the mouse gets 'in the way' if you know what I mean. I did manage to record half an hour of the NBC news this evening. Played it back OK.
I decided I would not attempt to do a ten week record. I will do one week at a time. It really is a fascinating toy to play with. f I want I can also burn the recording to a disc and play it back on a DVD player on the TV.

Amaze myself at times when I remember we were not allowed to even use typewriters in my girls school. Everything in pen and ink handwriting. Lord help me if I had to do handwriting these days..

I will let you know how it all goes with my Kimura drama.

thanks again. Peggy
