Re: Upcoming Movies
Now that you said Godzilla you reminded me something - I never saw the American "Ring" movie, but I'd like to see the Japanese version. Any idea if it may be aired?

Re: Upcoming Movies
Added info for the screening of the two movies, Yukie (ユキエ) and 折り梅 (Oriume), advertised after this morning's ほんまもん. These movies will be shown May 2 in Little Tokyo with talks by the director. See the main post for links to further info.

Re: Upcoming Movies
There's a theatre in Little Tokyo? Where? Do you have any more information about it, because during all my trips to Little Tokyou I have never seen a theatre.

Re: Upcoming Movies
I saw Tora Tora Tora, for some reason they are airing it a lot more than I expected. I dunno why. They also air The Longest Day, not sure if it was the title, but it is a Canadian/Japanese film that is about the American bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 at the close of the Second Great War.

Re: Upcoming Movies
It's been a while since I've updated the Japanese movies list, so it's essentially all new.

Re: Upcoming Movies
Thank you!!
BTW, a few weeks ago, it was like a Japanese movie day I guess, they showed Torax3 and Empire of the Sun. Enjoyed watching it. It was on AMC I believe.

Re: Upcoming Movies
Hmm, I just watched the Dreamworks' version of The Ring. Oddly, IMDb lists it as a U.S/Japan film (there are numerous Japanese references in the film but nothing Japanese in the credits other than acknowledgements of the Japanese sources on which the film is based.)
The Ring (Dreamworks version) is on HBOP on the 17th and 21st; HBOSIGP on the 23rd, 24th, and 27th; and HBOLATP on the 17th and 21st.
I rated this film an 8/10 at IMDb, although if fractions were possible, I'd give it a 7.5. (But take into account that horror's not really my thing.)

Re: Upcoming Movies
Apparently this movie did pretty good in Japan, it inspired a graphic novel based on the movie.
