Still, I have to admit that of all the drama music I've heard, Musashi is the one that whenever I hear something from it I instantly see a Musashi scene in my mind. Not so with the other OSTs. Ennio Morricone really is a very talented composer and orchestrator.

Ennio Morricone? Wow, I had no idea! Are there other drams OST's that he composed? Sorry if this is OT but Ennio Morricone is my absolute favorite composer for movie soundtracks.

I don't know if he's done other C/J/K drama work. But I was really surprised that he had been commissioned to do the Musashi soundtrack. I don't know if you're familiar with the Japanese Taiga dramas, but they run for approximately one year, so it seems the music score would have been a major undertaking.

O N E M I L L I O N R O S E S drama OST does anybody out there know where or when this music will be available? Cannot locate although I am told that the music is generally released while the Drama runs. What has been your experience locating OST's while a drama is running? Would appreciate info.

By the way, the YH OST is nearing sell-out and if you didn't get it, rush to do so.

Question re Drama DVD & players. While ordering the DVD's for the foreign dramas there is a question as to whether some of them will run on a regular DVD system. Has anybody purchased a DVD which did not run on a normal system?

Re: Favorite TV Drama Song

grobanite, there was a thread about finding the OMR OST over on the Chicago board:

http://deiner.proboards18.com/index.cgi?board=roses&action=display&num=1083483471

Supposedly, you can’t get the OMR OST through normal channels yet, but you can get it from the station in Hawaii that broadcasts OMR (?). I have my doubts about this, but you can call Hawaii if you want to give it a shot. Frankly, though, I’d be patient and hope that it becomes available through local distributors soon.

DVD’s come “coded” for different areas: USA is Zone 1, Japan Zone 2, S. Korea Zone 3, etc. And, a Zone 3 DVD from Korea won’t play on your Zone 1 American DVD player. emoticon

There are companies that make a nice income modifying ordinary DVD players into “All Zone” players. I’ve seen them advertised by Koreatown merchants during some of our local L.A. Korean broadcasts, so they do seem to be available locally. Or you can try ordering one:

http://www.zonefreedvd.com/

Note that I’ve never ordered from these guys, so I can’t really vouch for them. But, their website does have a lot of good information, so it’s worth a look. I admit that I'm interested in maybe getting a code-free DVD player for myself someday, too - there are so many great Korean and Japanese dramas that we can't otherwise watch!

Hope this helps!

Mikey, bouquet of roses to you! Thanks a million for your assistance. Been perusing the commun. channels and didn't comprehend all the electronic data. Recently, a company by the name of AnNyoung opened a store on Beach Blvd., in Buena Park and they seem to have an extensive range of movies, music, publications, etc., including the 'code-free' type DVD players. Now that it is no longer greek to me, I can track this whole thing.
Once, again, thank you for your help.

I’ve mail-ordered from Annyoung before (excellent service, in my experience) and they would certainly be the ones to ask regarding the availability of the OMR OST.

I had no idea that they actually had a storefront operation on Beach Blvd. I’ll have to check them out on my next trip to O.C. Thanks, grobanite!

Rogers3, if you will scroll up to the box by 'creidesca' (just above the pics) you will see a highlighted link to yesasia.com.
Simply click on the highlighted bars and you will immediately go to yesasia.com which is a company that sells, among many things, the dramas on DVD and the original sound tracks for same. You have to be careful though, as I pointed out a few messages above, many of the foreign dramas (and as 'Mikey" pointed out to me in an answer to my earlier request) will not play on regular dvd players. You must have a 'zone free' or a player geared to the zone number of the particular dvd. See 'Mikey's' response above for more detailed explanation .
