BETTER MANGA - Ai Yori Aoshi OR Marmalade Boy?
In your opinion, what is a better manga series; Ai Yori Aoshi or Marmalade Boy? Both are romantic, so which one is better, what is more romantic and funner to read throughout the entire series?

MAMAREEDO BOI!!!
.... But I'm biased and only have one dvd of Ai Yori Aoshi anime.... But I have the first boxset of Marmalade Boy anime, too!
...and. Ai Yori Aoshi can get PREETY perverted at times... Think Love Hina just...without the whole entrance exam thing.... Er.... Yeah. ( ... And Kaoru-sama is sexier than Keitarou. Though Keitarou was cute in Love Hina Again, the animation was a bit better... )

I have a couple of volumes of Love Hina. I've never seen the anime and bought the manga because I recognized the name and wondered what everyone was talking about. It can indeed get pretty out there (and beyond my limited Japanese reading ability).

Re: BETTER MANGA - Ai Yori Aoshi OR Marmalade Boy?
Hi everyone,
Well I have both series in manga and anime.
I do prefer Ai yori aoshi because of the art. It is indeed a version of Love Hina in the sense that you have a lucky guy surrounded by adoring females. Story is fun . The anime closely follows the manga storylines, although not all the manga has been animated.
Marmalade boy is entertaining as well but the anime version goes beyond the manga. They made scenarios that were never in the manga.
If you like romantic comedies the series that I would like to recommend is Maison Ikkoku , in either manga or anime. I think that no one here will contest it. The animation is very 80's but that is to me the golden age of romantic comedies. Anyone remembers Kimagure Orange Road?

Maison Ikkoku? Didn't Rumiko Takahashi ( Creator of Ranma 1/2 and InuYasha ) create that one? I also love Kare Kano: His and Her Circumstance. Masami Tsuda is hilarious in her Tsuda diaries

Thanks, guys! Is Kare Kano good? I was thinking of getting that but I didn't know if I would like it.

Re: BETTER MANGA - Ai Yori Aoshi OR Marmalade Boy?
Hi all,
How could I possibly forget Kare Kano! The manga is pretty good but the anime is simply awesome. It is animated by studio Gainax and directed by none other than Hideaki Anno.( Neon Genesis Evangelion). For once, I prefer the anime over the manga.
Highly recommended!
Yes, Maison Ikkoku is by Rumiko Takahashi. And still my favorite. I was addicted to that series. Great sense of humor. I was a college student in France in 1988,when it aired on French TV, and I secretly liked this female friend of mine. So I guess somehow I related to the main character.
Hiroshi, Love Hina is far better in manga than in anime, in my opinion. Not a bad anime but the manga is much more appealing. I hope I don't offend anyone!

Not at all, dbdds! This isn't the France of Louis XVI, ^^ we all have our opinions. I agree with you. Some of the manga turned into anime aren't that good, but sometimes they are adapted in better ways. I have to check out Kare Kano sometime then.

Pocket Monsters was first an anime before it became a manga, right? I know it was a game first, but the anime was first before the manga, right?
