Nuerhaci's (Chinese: 努爾哈赤; Manchu) lived from 1559 to 1626. The Ching dynasty referred here is pronounced differently than the Ching in Emperor Ching (Hero).

Those are different words, but would sound the same if I just spelt it CHING. The Ching Dynasty in Nuerhaci's story is this word 清. I would say it Ching with 1st intonation. (Ching Dynasty or 清朝; pinyin: qīng cháo). I don't really know the mainland Chinese pinyin system, so I wrote ching instead of qing. The Emperor Ching in the movie Hero is 秦王. The word 秦 is also Ching but with 2nd intonation.
I don't know much about Chinese history. I simply looked up a Chinese writeup of the movie Hero and it talked about Emperor Ching and the end of the Zhang Guo Era 戰國末年, so I looked that up in the Chinese Wikipedia and located the Emperor and the year.
Once in a while I'm thankful to my mother for not letting me forget Chinese, but it's hard for me to pass the language onto my 6YO!

iiii hattteee it well not hate it but its soooo borrning i hate historical flimes its like sitting in history class and the vivan lady u knoww the main character is kinda old now use too she was soo preettty but now she got old how old is she ??? and i can't believe those 2 bro are fightting over her i think the litlle bro of that guy is wayyy younger then her

I love these historical drams and have watched every one that came on TV here. Last evening I was so disappointed because our channel here in Orange County was off the air until 9.30pm. I hope they will play that episode tonight. did this happen in the L.A. are??

I had no problem. I was able to tape the episode clearly. I like Naqiya. She is smarter than most of the male characters when it comes to strategy. It's hard for me to like Nuerhaci, the hero of this drama. He has so many "loves" in his life. I can't get past it!
