Re: Runboard FAQ
引用 (quote): [*url=http://www.runboard.com]Runboard[*/url] (Remove the stars)
ccwf, in the FAQ there are a number of examples (such as above) in which asterisks are used then the parenthetical to "Remove the stars."
What is the reason asterisks are used then instructions given to remove them?

Re: Runboard FAQ
Because the author of the FAQ apparently isn't aware of how to include sample BBCode (like [i]this[/i]) in posts without using stars to prevent Runboard from interpreting the BBCode. I've sent a PM to the FAQ author with instructions on how to avoid having to use stars when writing sample BBCode.

Re: Runboard FAQ
Question: How come most often there are arrows you can click onto (under Last Post) that will take you directly to the last poster's comments, while other threads don't have the arrows and you have to click on the thread title itself?

Re: Runboard FAQ
Threads with more than one page have the little arrow which will take you to the last post in that thread. Posts that are only one page long don't have the little arrows.

Re: Runboard FAQ
Thanks, no rest. You'd think I'd have been able to figure that out on my own by now. One of my mentors once told me that there's no such thing as a stupid question, just a wrong answer. I appreciate that you answered kindly.

Re: Runboard FAQ
mikey registered last year as a local user, one of the first on this BBS. Local users are bound to a particular board. Because of the way runboard is implemented local users can not be assigned karma points.
You may want to contact the runboard technical staff if this is a problem.
*Note that for the past few months runboard no longer allows registration as a local user.

Re: Runboard FAQ
Golly, nchristi, I wish I could toss a little positive karma your way, too!
But, when this California board started up last year, I was already established as "mikey" over on the Chicago K-drama board. It seemed reasonable enough to keep that same screen name, since I was likely to be communicating with many of the same people as we all bounced back and forth between the two boards.
But, someone had already claimed "mikey" as a global Runboards name, so I had to go local, or else choose a different name. I wasn't interested in any of the other Runboard forums, so I figured that just having a local name for this specific board would be fine.
It's not such a big deal. Having a plus-karma total is cute, but just hearing that there's a few people who appreciate my sometimes marginal reviews is more than enough reward for yours truly!
