Re:

54: Wanted to cry I felt so sorry for Jongnam. She loses Suky before she even had a chance and then, she has to give up the little dog too.

Addie: I agree about the dog.. I've commented several times how upsetting it is to me the way that little dog is treated.

I also agree that Suky is the one in the wrong here. Sure, there are others also who could have and should have said something before Jongnam started having feelings. But no one thought of saying anything. And I guess there was no reason anyway because no one expected Suky and Jongnam to be anything other than cousins.

Suky is engaged and should have stayed away from Jongnam. I do not think Suky was trying to be sneaky or mean or anything like that. I think he knew it wasn't right to see Jongnam but.... well, I think Suky's engagement is just a natural process of life, and of doing what mama expects him to do. He likes Haein. But he was never attracted to her. He knows she is pretty but he just never saw her like that. So I think he's following romantic feelings he's having for Jongnam because it's all new and exciting to him. I blame him but I don't..

Suky is puzzled by Jongnam's attitudes towards him now. She wants nothing to do with the postcards and walks away. he just wonders what got into her.

Jongnam meets Haein and apologizes for the things she said against Suky to Haein. Jongnam is such a sweet girl and she's trying so hard to be the good daughter, be the good worker, be the good friend and also to fit into a family. It all must be so hard for her.

Ahhhh, the conception dream. Seems like no one bothered to get their stories straight!

My heart is just breaking for Jongnam. To me she's the most innocent one of the bunch, and yet, she's the one suffering the most. She has no one to talk to about her feelings so has to keep it inside.

I was gonna be mad about Suky acting jealous when Haein got mad about sending Kiwoong to China but I think he was more mad that Haein even defended Kiwoong. I think Suky brought 'being the boss' to lunch with them.

Haein knew why Kiwoong was gonna be sent to China and she already has guilt over dumping Kiwoong for his cousin so I'm sure it was just too much to think Kiwoong would be sent away as punishment for loving her. I thin Haein was a champion in this scene and I was 100% on her side. And she knows if Kiwoong goes, it will be harsh and unbearable for him because she mentioned how their real employees were not able to handle being shipped off like that.

Have a good weekend. 55 on Monday..

Re:

I don't see what you see and I don't know why. He did not have romantic feelings for Jongnam. When? I must be watching a different drama. Again, why is it his fault Jongnam likes him? Why should he have stayed away from her? Neither of them liked the other. The other thing is if Kiwoong hadn't told Jongnam and she'd found out naturally from a conversation would it have been so shocking? Couldn't she still be friends with him like before they went to the amusement park I think it could've happened. He didn't give her any reason to think they were going to be a couple. Kiwoong was warning her not to like him. Suky's not acting like he likes her. Why is Suky wrong because she likes him. He didn't lead her on.

Ah, never mind. I don't agree with anything you've said. I'll stop here. By the way Haein can think whatever she wants and she can make herself feel better by standing up for Kiwoong, but its not her decision and like I said Suky usually does the right thing. Does she see him as a creep? He's not a creep. She should give him the benefit of the doubt.

I may have to give this drama up. I can't believe how really different I see thing from before. I think I'm ruining it for myself. I'm watching it very carefully this time and I don't see the same things as I used to see. I remember the first time I watched this I wanted to see signs that suky was interested in Jongnam. This time I know he becomes interested in her, so I'm actually waiting for the first sign and I haven't seen it yet. I know I will, but I'm not going to say I see it when I don't like I did before, when every little thing was a sign.

One more thing. Jongnam is devastated. Why? She spent one day at an amusement park with a guy. Come on.

I'm done.

Re:

I doubt Jongnam has ever had feelings for any man before. She def was showing signs of being super attracted to Suky at the park. Ilooked to me like they both were mighty attracted to one another on that 'date'...

I'm not seeing this drama the same way either Smoochie and I'm shocked by how I feel and how I see these characters.

You didn't think Jongnam seemed super sad, hurt and disappointed when she found out about Suky and Haein? I think she is definitely hurting. These two have more history than that amusement park date. They've gone from disliking each other to that stare down during the fireworks. They've been thrown together many times and there has been a relationship growing over several months.

Suky doesn't know Jongnam likes him but he does knows he's engaged to one woman and playing around with another. And I think he knows very well that he's not supposed to be doing that. If he were seeing Jongnam as a cousin, he'd be very open about it and even invite Haein to join them at the park or Kiwoong...

And I don't care if you agree or not. I respect your opinion. And like I said before, after reading posts from others, I can see things from a different point of view. I may or may not agree but I totally enjoy looking at this from other's point of view.

emoticon Will be back...

Re:

Haein did not dump Kiwoong for his cousin. She dumped him because he had nothing to offer her and his family was poor. She gave him 10 reasons why he wasn't qualified to even think of marrying her. Suky didn't even enter into it at the time.

Suky didn't say he was sending Kiwoong to China. He said he was going to ask him.

Suky and Jongnam were part of the same family. He invited her to Jaeman's birthday party, where he and Haein showed up together as a couple. There was so much drama that followed that party that he could've believed she'd heard about it. He was not keeping it a secret. He could have assumed she knew about them.

It was not supposed to be a romantic thing and Jongnam was the one all gung-ho that Suky go with her. Jongnam was the one who arranged the day at the park not Suky. She didn't want Kiwoong to go with her. Haein would've never gone. This was all Jongnam's idea, this amusement park thing.

Suky was not playing around with her. I don't know where you see that. They went to a park together had fun, laughed and played together and had a couple of moments where they were drawn to each other. That was it. In fact he continued to treat her the same way after that day as he had before. It was Jongnam who had the crush. He went right back to being Haein's boyfriend. It wasn't his fault Jongnam liked him. I think it surprised him.

I give up. I'm done.

Re:

I've watched 55 and I'm going to comment on it. I'm watching it again as I post, so I have it fresh in my mind. The difference with how I'm watching it now as to how I have in the past is I'm not watching a drama, but as though this is real life and I'm responding that way. How I'd judge people I know in real life. Very different and a lot harsher. Which means, nobody's safe.

After discussing the conception dream to death, Suky is leaving and runs into Jongnam on her way out. The whole family is there and Suky's acting the same as always, but Jongnam is not. Suky looks a little curious as to why she's acting strange. She finds an excuse to stay as Suky leaves. Minsook helps her.

I don't know even now what the big deal is. As I see it they're worried because Jongnam likes Suky. He doesn't know that and may have never known it if they all, including Jongnam, didn't make it such a big deal. Just move on.

Suky's waiting outside for her, I believe because he doesn't get why she's acting so different. I agree. So what if he has a girlfriend. You're not allowed to act normal and have a conversation with him? When she mentions Haein he gets it and he's surprised. The way she said it sounded like he promised her something and had no right to. No he didn't. They spent a day together. They had fun. They parted. Back to life as usual The fact that she read more into it has nothing to do with anything he did. If I knew her and heard her story, I'd ask her, "did he say he likes you?". "Did he say he wants to see you again?". No? Move on!

When he gets home Nara gives him the third degree and sees that he's a little down. He tells her Gram hasn't budged. She tells him to bring Haein on the weekend. She sees the lack of real interest. I see it too. They're a young couple. Its like a project to act like a couple.

He gets to his room and sees the bunny hat. He picks it up and sighs and is sitting there and takes off his ring for a moment. Its a "what if" moment. He knows where his future lies and its with Haein. He put the ring back on.

Next morning more conception dream conversation. The first time we watched this it meant something, but now its like a filler.

Cider Park is excited at the prospect of a blind date.

Haein sees the postcards on Suky's desk. She thinks he collects them as a hobby. He tells her they're Souvenirs. Does that mean he's been to all of those places? We never find out. She leaves the monitoring reports for him to look at. She says she has to work late and he offers to wait for her. She's having dinner with the staff. He tells her to make time to visit his mother on the weekend. He sees Jongnam's report and gets a look.

On his way out he runs into Kiwoong. They go for drinks at Okdoo's café. She's on the case. Nothing is sacred amongst these people. She's watching and listening. I'm sure she'll file a report later with Yujing and Byungdoo.

Suky raises the China idea to Kiwoong and Kiwoong says no. He can't leave Gram. End of discussion. Suky let it go. Haein didn't have to get involved. Suky was right to tell her to mind her own business. He doesn't forget that Kwoong's his cousin. He'd never try to force him to go to China. Nara might, but not Suky and not Jaeman.

Yujing comes up with the idea that if things don't go right, Haein and Suky can move to the US. She says Suky's a citizen. Another one of Nara's cover up lies, saying he was born in America I guess. She proposes the idea to Haein who's never heard that Suky was born in America. I guess if their plan to send Kiwoong to China doesn't work this is her new plan. Haein says no. She's not going anywhere.

Jaeok sees Jongnam still moping around and asks if the guy she met on Sunday hasn't called. They finally decide its because she misses the dog.

The next scene makes me so mad that if I knew Jongnam I might slap her. She runs into Haein and Suky in the offices of Wellbeing. Se crouches in such a ridiculous pose. Like she's trying to be invisible. She looks so terrible. I'm embarrassed for her. Nothing happened to make her feel this way. They must think there's something wrong with her. Haein has a pleasant work conversation with her. Suky asks if she's had lunch. Like a normal person. When she scurries away Suky looks after her. No, not because he's in love, but because he doesn't understand why she's so weird.

Here's where it all goes wrong. Nara fnds the picture of Jongnam and Suky together. She goes nuts. She puts two and two together and comes up with amusement park, with Jaeok's help. Jaeman is trying to defuse the situation, but she's not going to be satisfied until she finds Jongnam. She goes to Jaeok's and waits outside in her car for Jongnam.

Suky's on his way out and puts the box with the postcards in his car. He sees Jongnam walking and stops and gets out with the box in his hands. He wants to talk. He says she said what she wanted now its his turn. He asks if she's busy. She's going home and he offers to drive her. She's all scrunched up. He's normal.

He talks about the dog. Jongnam still can't look at him. She tells him she's used to it. Everything she likes leaves. That's why she doesn't like to get attached. He gets it right then, what she's really talking about. When she mentions Haein, Syuky feels bad for her and tells her she's a nice person too. She again mentions Mr Pooh and tells him he must've been happy to go to his real owner Suky says he's sure he's fond of her, but has no way of telling her. They're not talking aout the dog anymore.

This is what I think. I think Jongnam took their day together a lot more seriously than Suky did. I know that he was attracted to her, but didn't see her in any way a prospect. Once he went home, he'd remember it as a nice day and he did stay with some really nice memories of Jongnam. He went back to his life. It was Jongnam who had a crush on him. I think the ride home with her and talking about Mr Pooh was his way of telling her she's a nice girl and he's sorry he hurt her but he didn't mean to. They were both saying Good-bye.

I think he's feeling guilty for the misunderstanding. I don't believe he thought he did anything wrong but share a fun day with her until he realized she liked him. He figures out why she's acting weird every time they run into each other.

I know this is going to be a really unpopular opinion, but I'm a girl and if I liked a guy who didn't share my feelings I'd keep it to myself and not look so pathetic every time I run into him. Get a grip, Jongnam. He doesn't seem to be affected.

I'm trying not to talk about this next part, but here it comes. When they pull up to Jongnam's house they both get out and Suky hands her the box. Nara sees them and approaches them. Jongnam is trying to apologize from the last time when she gets slammed in the face.

When Jongnam got out of the car, if Nara didn't show up, she'd simply have gone home and given up on that dream. She'd still think of Suky, but it would have been "hands off" from then on. That would've been that. But, instead she went home sad over Suky and humiliated by his loony mother.

Do you think that he gets it? This is the second time he's witnessed Jongnam being abused by his mother. Does he know that her motivation in doing this has to do with him? Not that Nara needs much motivation. This was the icing on the cake! He sees now what she's capable of. For her to slap an innocent person, Jongnam, was more than he expected. He now knows the extent of her malice.

That's it. I'm done. emoticon

Re: KDrama Rewatch in the Den : Bizarre Bunch

I had a very busy weekend which kicked off the holiday season .

I am looking forward to watching more of BB
55

This is a "turning point episode " because we have had a few eps to see how Jongnam was affected by the news of Haein and Sukhyun's engagement . I think Jongnam had started to fall for Sukhyun from the fireworks by the river ep . Maybe she did or didn't realize it but after the amusement park , there could be no doubt .

Since she has found out ,however , she has been avoiding Sukhyun like the plague . I think that is good if only to wake Sukhyun up . I have said before that I thought he was clueless about his own feeling and how his behavior may be misinterpreted . I never for one minute thought he meant to hurt either Haein or Jongnam , but that maybe the result ,

I also though it was very telling when he was sitting at his desk - looking at the bunny hat and he momentarily takes his ring off . I truly think he should say to his mother " I am not ruling out marrying Haein , but why does it have to be in a month ? He is finally staring to question what he blindly accepted before : his MOTHER's choice .

I also see the caring side of Sukhyun as he hears Jongnam say that once she gets close to anything , they go away . I don't HE even knows what he is feeling , but now that Nara is in the loop it is as if
the hounds of hell are about to be unleashed .

I couldn't believe what Nara was saying about Jongnam "chasing " after Sukhyun . Doesn't she get that it's takes two to have an attraction ?

Well , luckily for us , Nara has never apparently heard of Freud either , so she will of course do all the wrong things to bust them up .

This should be fun emoticon emoticon emoticon

Re:

55 - Yes, Nara's rage really starts now. Actually, it already had started but now it's full on. She blames Jongnam totally for going after Suky. Yes Addie, it does take two but Nara will never see it that way. I guess it's easier for her to just blame Jongnam. Otherwise she'd have to wonder if her son takes after his father. lol

Jongnam has tried to avoid Suky. That's almost impossible to do considering they are cousins and share the same family. And she delivers food to his company from the restaurant, AND she's working there part time. So avoiding him isn't something she will be able to do.

Again, something on Suky's desk that Haein is snooping in. So irritating. He says nothing though to explain it. She only mentions how many hobbies he has and where does he find the time.

Was Nara going to go upstairs and confront Jongnam? Glad it stayed down so Jaeok didn't have to see that slap. Suky seemed truly puzzled by his mother's actions.

Suky and Haein run into Jongnam in the office and Jongnam quickly leaves but Suky stares after her and Haein sees that. She does not like Suky having thoughts about Jongnam... but it's OK for her to hang out with a guy who has loved her for 10 years. Later I'm gonna wonder what she'd say/do if Suky came out and told her to quit talking to Kiwoong and never see him..

Looks like Suky is starting to wonder about his marriage. He never cared before but now he's at least giving it thought. I think he likes Haein a lot but his feelings are starting to be a bit confusing for him..

Suky and Kiwoong have a drink and Kiwoong lets S know he has no intentions of going to China.

Re: KDrama Rewatch in the Den : Bizarre Bunch

Sometimes I skim throughout the other posts , but I have gone back to really read them to make sure I haven't missed anything .

I am not here to try to change anyone's mind , and I am again going to say that there are times when we will agree to disagree . I don't know why , but I am getting kind of a kick out of our disagreements too emoticon

It is also amazing in a way how our opinions have changed from the first time - but one opinion that has not changed is that I still consider Bizarre Bunch one of the best dramas I have ever seen . I couldn't stick through most of them .

Maybe we should say that we have four young characters who have a lot of growing up to do , and we get to watch them muddle through it . I never thought Sukhyun was in the wrong before but this rewatch I do . I do not think he is deliberately acting like a cad , but the bottom line is : he is . He is not doing right by Haein OR Jongnam . He is supposed to be engaged to Haein and he is setting Jongnam up for general censure not to mention unleashing his mother the dragon lady on her .
 emoticon
Is he a young Jaeman ? NO , but the potential is there , especially if he ends up in a marriage like that of his parents

I will be back later with today's episode .

Re: KDrama Rewatch in the Den : Bizarre Bunch

56

I know we have another culture but I can never in my life understand how it is ok for Nara to just walk up and slap Jongnam that way . I don't care if she is older , she is certainly not due any respect .
Despite Nara's money , house , jewelry and clothes she has no class .

Minsook and even Gram have more in their little fingers than Nara in her whole body . At that point I was really mad at Sukhyun for bringing all this about ....the only redemption started to come when he actually stood up for Jongnam and got Nara out of there . Sukhyun must have been deeply embarrassed , Nara looked somewhat deranged ! Is anyone else here thinking flying monkeys ?

At home , Sukhyun tried to explain it was not what Nara thought , but with the apparent stringent rules which guide an engaged man's behavior , she won't give him any wiggle room . Everything is black or white in her world .

On the other hand , it was once again glaringly brought home to us when Sukhyun was having dinner with Haien : HE IS JUST NOT INTO HER . Haien may or may not have deep feelings for Sukhyun either , but she is trying to play by the rules . Is her motivation to please her parents ? I just don't know
IS it time for her to get married and he is the most likely candidate ? That seems the most plausible .

Jongman is trying to avoid Sukhyun - she is doing her best actually , but he is waiting on her steps after what must have been a long wait , as Jongnam and Kiwoong went for drinks and karaoke . Both of them had bittersweet thoughts about their erstwhile crushes , but Jongnam is really trying to put it all behind her .

Sukhyun just can't seem to help himself , though I think it is because he is apologetic . He doesn't have the self insight to really see what is going on .

As I said earlier , we will have to watch him muddle through .

Ok , then !

Re:

Just watched 56. All I can see is that, the more Nara slaps, slams, and puts down Jongnam, the more Suky feels the need to defend her. At first I was a bit upset w/him because he left as Nara told him to, leaving Jongnam standing thee with a spilled load of post cards. But I then realized Suky didn't have time to help her pick them up or to apologize. He had to get out of there or Nara would have caused even more trouble. And you could see, Suky was horribly embarrassed.

Jongnam and Kiwoong go drinking and both end up thinking about the one they care for. Kiwoong thinks about his Jeju trip with Haein and about what fun they had (at first anyway). Jongnam thinks about all the encounters she had with Suky. I can see how she came to care for him. They had so many negative encounters that once they settled things about the bad beginning, she started liking him. He was nice to her and she enjoyed being around him.

OMG, forgot about those brooms. Had to laugh.

Also was amused by Okdoo and Jaeman talking about his son and her niece, both getting married soon. Poor them. What a perfect couple they really are.

Back tomorrow! emoticon
