Love the female cop actress. She's fun as a comedian. Love lead guy too (handsome in a rugged way)..

Lead guy is King Sejong, love him.The cop good actress, but in this drama she is way over the top, bordering on silliness.

I know I'm probably in the minority but, I never watch Lee Soo Kyung in anything without wincing. This drama is no different. She's always the same, no matter what the character. She only needs to change wardrobe and there she is, the same old same old. I've seen her in many things, which I've only watched for the rest of the cast. She's pouting and mugging and acting cute and way over the top. Tiresome! Somebody must like her more than I do, because she actually works. I don't get it, but I don't have to. She's as irritating in this as she usually is. But, the rest of the cast is good and I continue to watch it.

That 'somebody' isn't me, either! However, one of our guy members is "loving this farce" and presumably Lee Soo Kyung, as noted in his post above. So, there we have it. She's delightful and fun and cute to many.

Personally, I am so turned off to Lee Soo Kyung and her character in this one that even a heavy-weight supporting cast isn't helping me out very much. I have to force myself to watch this one a day or two after I've tried watching the broadcast itself (and rather quickly changed channels). I keep watching in hopes that it will grow on me and be an okay drama. I'll give it a few more episodes before I totally give up.

Re: K-Drama: 국가가 부른다 (Call of the Country/Secret Agent Miss Oh)

smootchie1..

You are not in the minority. I feel exactly the same as you. I am watching the show not because of the two main leads but the two second leads. I was not familiar with Horan, but she is doing a credible acting performance as well as the actor playing Han who I really like but have not seen in too many other shows.

The lead actress who plays OH drives me insane with her facial mimicking which is not considered believable acting and is very external without much motivation.

I have to agree with everybody as far as the female cop is concerned. Her silliness is so irritating. I don't really watch, the tv is just on because my fave regular shows (criminal minds, csi) are done. I saw her too in another drama with Kim Ji Hoon and Yi Pilmo long time ago and she plays the same role. BTW, her mom here is the rich wife in Jolly Widow.

The lead guy is good in stunts - and he's doing too much of it - but he is good - and got some good looks.

The role of the mother was played by Yang Geum Suk. She is in the KBS series from 2007, Hometown over the Hill. The actress who played in Jolly Widows was Lee Eung Kyung, By coincidence, her husband, Lee Jin Woo, also appears in Hometown over the Hill.

I'm excited to see Ryu Jin back on screen. i haven't seen him much. Was the actress Horan the evil assistant to the first queen in "princess jamyoung"? I'm not too keen on seeing Kim Sang-Kyung in another role like the last one with mother-in-law who worked at a restaurant that sells pig feet. Her antic is really something...hehe.

Caught a few moment in the first episode, will have to wait further for character assessments emoticon
Kim Sang Kyung is an actor and was a former prosecutor turned private attorney in "Lawyers." The actress, Lee Soo Kyung, was married into the pig foot restaurant family in "Daughters-in Laws." She was also in "Soulmate."
