Re: K-Drama: 아이가 다섯 (Five Enough)

I've begun watching this one, too—although I sometimes get to see only Sunday night's episode. I very much like the leading couple; both are good actors and are appealing as characters.

The one new K-drama twist in this one is the fierce opposition by Sangtae's ex-mother-in-law, maternal grandmother to his children. Yikes. MILs in general are bad enough in these dramas but this takes the cake for selfishness, it seems. How in the world can she fight so viciously to make sure the grandchildren never have a step-mom... even one Sangtae loves dearly and who makes it a great mix in which to rear all their children together. I'm glad Sangtae is as strong and determined as he is.

Great drama! Hopefully I can catch up a little bit, so I can appreciate it fully.

Sat nite's episode. Has a lot of sad stuff going on (Sangtae wanting to marry and having so much opposition and now from the kids too) but had to laugh (always with my Golf Guy) when they showed the time he showed up at Taemin's school. OMG that guy is just hilarious. Love him and Yeondu together. Perfect couple.

Just the best drama in years!!

So funny now Golf Guy pretty much no knows everything about who is who in this one. He realized Yeondu's brother is Sangtae and remembers all the times he acted so high and mighty around him. Boy he sure did change his swagger and smugness around Sangtae. He's on his feet and being super respectful.

And now Taemin sees who his brother loves and it hits him... HE was her 7 yr crush. And to top it all off, Jinju and Yeondu were friends in high school, and then became in-laws. All so confusing and all so hilariously connected.

GG is so worried that Taemin may try to marry Jinju before he gets Yeondu to fall madly in love with him (so that she won't be able to break up with him once she finds out what he knows). So GG makes Taemin write out and sign a contract that he will not marry until GG does. This way, when their parents find out the truth....the awful truth about the weird connection of everyone, it will have to be Taemin who gives up the girl.. At least that's how GG is looking at it.

Yeah, GG really has a good opinion of himself. lol But I agree w/him. To me he's perfect too.

I'm still watching and enjoying this drama. I watch more for the young couples now. I enjoy Kangmin and Yuntae the best. He is adorable to watch. I've seen this actor in a couple of things and this one really lets him be as outrageous as possible. I love him in this. He's so full of himself and rightly so. I especially loved the scene where he walks through the school, looking particularly hot, looking for his brother. Unbelievable! I'll have to rewind and watch that again.

All of the story lines are predictable, but its the watching it all unfold and seeing how it happens that makes it worth watching. Well that and Sung Hoon! emoticon

I love the kids too. Especially, the littlest girl. All of them are good little actors. So cute too.

Enjoy!

I burst out laughing in that scene Smoochie (where Golf Guy walks through the school). He is my favorite reason for watching this, but I love the entire cast and the storylines. This one is just great. Agree, the kids are just as good as the adults. lol

So funny how Taemin and GG now are vying over who can get to the alter first. Their mother (a character I know I am not gonna be fond of) will only let one of them marry and I think she will pick Taemin because he seems to be her favorite. Once she finds out the past connections... OMG GG dated Jinju and Taemin and Yondu both had secret crushes on each other (for 7 years!). Jingo is Yondu's ex sister in law. Tamin and GG's mother will not handle this well. So both men are trying to be the first to get married because they both know the other will most likely be told NO.

Now, I've always had a problem with Sangtae's ex mother and father in law. OMG how can they be so incredibly intrusive and controlling!!!! Sangtae gets married and they find an apartment that will fit all of them... all 8 of them! And his ex father in law buys the building! Previews... ex in laws move into the building, on the floor beneath the newlyweds. I'm sorry but this is where Sangtae needs to step up. He's going to have to be mean or they will start trying to control the new wife!!

Totally still love this drama... but most of the humor is gone now. With the EX in-laws buying the building and moving downstairs from their grandkids it just takes all the fun out of this drama. But it's still very good. Too bad these morons can't see how intrusive they are being. If Sangtae wants to make this work he should move out ASAP. Don't let these people control him and his kids.

Also, sooo sad because Yeondu has broken up with Golf Guy and he is so miserable. I understand but seeing him so hurt is hard to watch. Also, can't stand his mother!!!! She plays the same in every drama she's in. An arrogant, controlling, flippant, smug and nasty "B"!!! Golf Guy and Taemin don't see her from other's point of view. How can she be so openly obvious in her favoritism of her own children?

don't really care about 2nd son Hotae and his wife. They never were that interesting a story anyway. But glad they are together and happy.

Hope some humor returns soon.

Re:

Last nite's episode wasn't funny at all. It's like all the humor has left.

Poor Golf Guy. Yeondu needs to be slapped! She breaks up with him because she used to have a crush on his brother. He's devastated and doesn't want to lose her. He told her her 7 yr crush on brother was more important to her than her current love for him. So true. She's ruining her future because she is hung up on something in her past.

All the kids are being difficult. None of them like the new arrangement (marriage) and all feel like they are having their way of life taken from them. This marriage has so many challenges. None so horrible as Sangtae's EX mother and father in law.

So, the BRAINS of the family (ex in laws) is their housekeeper. Hmm, I guess that's true. But to me, the parents should decide when and where the ex in laws see their grandkids. Housekeeper tells them to butter up the new stepmom so they can gain control over her (like they've had over Sangtae all these years). I still think the new family should move! Maybe they should move temporarily in with Sangtae's parents... just until the new family gets adjusted. What a mess!

Got some good laughs out of last nights episode. When Yeondu was thinking about what may have happened to GG and they showed the blurred faces of GG's manager and of Taemin I was rolling.

Absolutely loved how Jinju handled Taemin's bossy mother. She was great. Actually, they seemed very similar in personality (except Jinju is still pretty innocent)

Think tonight GG and Yeondu will be back together. So glad because they are both suffering w/o the other.

Totally, without a doubt (at least to me) this is the best drama in YEARS!!! Pretty much PERFECTION! emoticon

Still haven't been able to go back and catch up on this drama, but what I have seen I am enjoying. I'd probably share your feelings, Nelli, if I'd seen everything from the beginning.

I caught last night (Sat) and agree about Yeondu's imaginary worries about GG. The sort of "pixelated" blurred faces was a great scene. Cleverly done by the director. It was funny to hear the altered, high-pitched voices while still being able to see who was speaking. They were reduced to cartoon characters—which suited them!
