Re: KDrama Rewatch in the Den : Bizarre Bunch

124

I guess my disc was scratched in the last episode , because this one played ok . I was a little surprised
where it started , though as the last ep ( on my disc ) ended with Haein and Kiwoong in the department
store

At the beginning of this ep , Jongnam is accepting InBoem's proposal . I felt very annoyed with Jongnam and agree with Sukhyun : she is using him . What is she playing at ? She doesn't even want InBoem to kiss her hand !!!

Of course , Jaeok is happier than a pig in mud because she thinks this will solve their other problems involving Nara emoticon

On the other hand , I really enjoyed the scene with Byundoo and HAein - he is happy with the gift of the jacket , but he warns her about spending too much time with Kiwoong . He also worries that the relationship between between Kiwoong and Sukyun would somehow reflect on Kiwoongs behavior . Not that Sukhyun is his father , but that is like coming Jaedo and Jaeman . They are cut from different bolts of cloth .

ImBoem is believing what he wants to -I guess you can't blame him - but he doesn't deserve this . .

In the meantime , Haein finds out that Kiwoong was at a factory that exploded and faints when she thinks he has been killed .

SO much for not being in love with him - but maybe she is the very last to know ? Well , maybe last before Kiwoong .

Sukhyun goes to the Jaeok's cafe and see jongnam's ring . Again : wasn't she going to tell him ??

OY .

Good episode. Lots happened. Jongnam totally using CP. Feeling sorry for him because he cares so much for her and she has no feelings for him. He's too blinded by love to notice (it seems). And Jaeok! Seriously, she knows her daughter doesn't love CP but she's to hell bent on this guy for her SIL. Also, she knows Jongnam will have no opposition to marrying him. I suppose she thinks being in love isn't important and maybe thinks it will come with time.

Kiwoong and the factory explosion. This scene still brings tears to my eyes. Haein is in a panic trying to get to the hospital and it's pretty obvious, even to her father, that she cares for Kiwoong much more than she's admitted to.

I wonder how many times I've said, "My poor Suky"? It just breaks my heart to see how much pain he is in. And omg... he is just beautiful. I look at that face... perfection!!!

CP already has a house. Once this bothered me. But he bought the land years prior and had the house built for his future wife. I would have preferred a hanok over the American style he had built but Jaeok was sure happy with it. Anyway, I'm not irritated by him pushing a house on Jongnam anymore. He got the green light from Jongnam so he's gonna go full speed ahead (in case she changes her mind???)

So telling when Suky and Jongnam passed each other at the office and he told her 'wait' and she sees he looks at her hand. He makes sure there's no ring and then walks away. But then, at the end, he happily stops by the cafe to see her (and get noodles) and as always, with a smile on his face. And notices the ring. Oh my heart hurts.....

Re:

125 - KIDNAPPING

So much happened in this episode. Kiwoong is pretty sure Haein feels about him the way he's wanted her to feel for 10 years! I'm really glad. I didn't like her (before) but I can accept her and root for her as long as it's Kiwoong she cares for.. Byungdoo sees the real side of Kiwoong and seems to approve wholeheartedly. He's a wise man who wants his daughter to be happy, above having a successful man.

Nara just can't keep her mouth shut. She rubs it in every chance she gets about Jongnam to Suky. Such an ugly person.

Also a tad ticked at CP. He is in Suky's office and Suky lets him know Jongnam only accepted because of Jaeok. And CP gets the call from his dad before Suky can tell him who J loves. CP knows who she loves but he wants her anyway. I have never ever understood WHY a man and/or a woman would want someone who loves another. I suppose in their twisted love, they think they can change the persons mind or something. But if you truly love the person, you have to let them make their own decisions. Anyway, CP seemed to enjoy letting Suky know the parents were meeting. And tops it off by saying they will have a 'family' dinner later (referring to Suky as Jongnam's cousin. Sad sad sad..

HOWEVER, given Nara's 'rubbing it in', and CP's giving too much info to Suky, Suky will now be pushed into action.

Suky is waiting outside for Jongnam. She tries to pass him. He stops her. She tries to ignore him. He gets angry and hurt, and desperate. He insults her, telling her she is playing with two men. He also tells her his heart is ripped to pieces because of her. KILLING ME.... lol She tries to leave. He begs, telling her he don't know what he'll do. She hesitates, but then decides to leave anyway. He grabs her and ........ Can't wait for the next episode!!! emoticon emoticon

Re: KDrama Rewatch in the Den : Bizarre Bunch

Sorry for the delay ,Nelly but I had misplaced my disc ( and you can imagine my panic )
But FOUND IT ! emoticon

What ever one feels about the outcome of this episode , I feel it was inevitable - partly because of the actions of all the people around the two couples . I really loved it when Haein fainted because of Kiwoong . It forces her to face her real feelings ( which apparently she didn't realize she had ) and removes some of the objections to Kiwoong as a spouse . Of course You jung will not ever be happy , but ByungDoo is a powerful ally . He also "gets it " after the scene in the hospital .

I , too , feel bad for Sukhyun and Jongnam . Jongnam is in love with Sukhyun , but she is trying to do what would please her mom and also to keep peace in the family . It distresses me that Jaeok would be ok with a man that Jongnam doesn't love - no matter what his qualifications are . I also wonder why InBoem would be ok with someone who obviously is not attracted to him as husband material - but maybe he thinks she will learn to love him . I can never imaging Jongnam "faking it " she is way too honest for that .

Sukhyun , on the other hand is constantly getting either negativity or baiting from Nara . She should write a book on how NOT to break a couple up because she is doing everything wrong .

And lastly , Jongnam herself is partly to blame because she refuses to talk to Sukhyun about any of this ( WHY they can't etc etc ) and I don't think that looking up at him with big teary eyes is getting the message across ( or helping her refusal either .

In Boem's announcement made Sukhyun feel desperate - and forced his hand because he knows what it means when the parents have already meant .

I am surprised that InBoem felt so confident in his engagement , but maybe he didn't realize that someone who doesn't have much left to lose would have no problem breaking the rules .

ready when you are , nelly

Re:

CP, Jaeok and Nara have all assumed that Jongnam agreeing to marry CP will be the end of it (re Jongnam/Suky). None of them, including Jongnam, realize they have all pushed Suky into a corner. He has been obedient his entire life, doing what others, especially Nara, has instructed him to do. But he is a man very much in love and they all have underestimated his feelings.

What Suky is going through, ALONE, along with finding out about his parentage, has just hit a block wall. Or maybe caused a volcano eruption. Whatever, Suky is now taking desperate measures in response to his desperate situation. CP was rubbing it in when he told Suky about the parents meeting. CP made a big mistake (he'll soon find out) doing that. It was the last straw for Suky.

Kidnapping complete. Suky has Jongnam far away, at a location not easily near a motel (5 miles away). Jongnam begged, trash talked him, got angry. Nothing worked. That guy can take a lot. He seems like he's willing to endure whatever, to get her to admit she loves him and to just go for it. Jongnam's priority is doing what her mother wants her to do and to NOT do anything to piss off Nara.

When CP comes over to Jaeok's (after the parent meeting went bust) he remembered what Suky had said to him.. That Jongnam was only marrying him to please her mom and that the one she loved was..... I seriously was thinking... "Bet you wished you'd kept your smug comment about the parents meeting from coming out of your mouth". But it was all in the grand scheme of things.

Yugeong is doing/saying whatever she can to Byungdoo to get him to see that Kiwoong is no match for Haein. He's not educated; comes from a playboy family and.... all he did was sit at a desk scratching himself??? LOL where'd that come from.
Byungdoo looks better and better to me. His wish is that his daughter is with someone who loves her and that she loves and someone she can depend on, emotionally. He's not looking at education or background..

Had to laugh. Suky get a room (one) for them. He lays out the bedding. Wonder if he's ever done that before. He puts TWO pillows side by side. Did he really think she'd go along with that. lol She made him leave the room. In fact, as far as she was concerned he could go sleep with the fishes. Love these episodes right now.

Re: KDrama Rewatch in the Den : Bizarre Bunch

First of all nelly , I hope you are doing well . I am so glad that we picked this up again and will watch it to its completion . I am still seeing things that I either forgot or didn't notice before .
126

I will be honest , Jongnam must have had a heart of stone to walk away from Sukhyun when he was begging her not to go . Iwould have had trouble walking away from that .

And though it got his face slapped , I don't blame him for telling her she was just playing with his heart , etc . Sukhyun feels as though he has no one on his side - for awhile he had Jongnam , but because he wasn't honest with her or Haein , he not only screwed it up , but it kind of helped lead to the situation he now finds himself in .

All that being said , it is regrettable that he was driven to this . There is a lot of responsibility to go around . Nara with her constant negativity , Jaeok pushing Jongnam to marry In Boem , In Boem for moving so fast . It was bound to blow up .

I think he should have at least given Jongnam her phone - but hey , I am not the writer !

In the meantime , I definitely think Haein is looking at Kiwoong with different eyes . She , at least , is standing up for Sukhyun and Jongnam - but she is alone there .

I can't not believe how irritating YouJung was when she was nagging ByunDoo about Kiwoong . No wonder he tunes her out - I wanted to and I don't even speak Korean !

I am glad Nara is feeling so satisfied - it certainly won't last !

A far as the place they are staying - is this the same beach town where Sukhyun went before ??

I don't think anyone knew where he was then and Nara had to ask Jongnam to call ???

Looking forward to the next ep !

Kidnapping successful. Sort of. Jongnam is furious and threatening, begging, demanding that Suky and her return to Seoul. He is letting it all slide off his back, saying give the Seoul family a few days to accept it (them). He still thinks by running away they will come to their senses. lol

Suky is all about trying to make Jongnam see the wisdom of them running away. Jongnam can only think of her mother (and his). She makes Suky sleep on the step outside their room. It's cold. She covers him with a blanket and tries to put a pillow under his head...his chance to grab her???? omg.... She screams and tries to suffocate him with the pillow...lol

Better scene for me was Byungdoo. I actually love this guy. He asks Haein to have a drink with him and he brings up Kiwoong and her feelings about him. She needs more time but realizes her feelings for him have change... or rather, have come to light. I'm happy she's seeing Kiwoong differently and also really loved that she told her dad that Kiwoong was like air. You need it but never give it thought. Well put.

Suky and Jongnam have a little fight on the beach. He finds an octopus for her but she shoves him down in the mud. He chases her and smears her face in mud. They both end up in clothes that are not becoming. Even Jongnam has a giggle over that. Later they argue and Suky brings up being abandoned. He gets so emotional about it he throws the car keys down and tells her she can go back. I guess her constant rejection and all the abandonment issue came to a head with him and he just momentarily gave up.

Next episode most definitely my all time favorite. emoticon

Re: KDrama Rewatch in the Den : Bizarre Bunch

Hi Nelly - I was out of town for a couple of days , but now I am back and ready to catch up

127

There is really a lot going on with the two couples , but Sukhyun and Jongnam have to take the prize ( for drama , that is ) I understand why Sukhyun felt he had to do it , but I am a lot more conflicted about this than I was in previous viewing .

I do feel that Nara is the most responsible for all this , but Jaeok also has some responsibility . However , as parents . it would be hard to wish this on anyone - the worry and concern . ImBoem , though not my favorite doesn't deserve this either . He is a nice guy , but I will never understand him anyway . He knows Jongnam doesn't love him . I guess their culture is a lot more parent oriented anyway ...

It was wrong to take away Jongnam's phone . And , to be honest , I can see why ( again ) why Sukhyun did it , but I still don't believe he realizes who he is dealing with - Nara . I think that is why opinions are so polarized . I think she would rather see him dead than with Jongnam .

MinSook looks physically ill , and Jaedo isn't happy either . I don't like the way Gram places all the blame on Jongnam . Most of the "adults " think that she has been abducted by Sukhyun .

In the meantime , ByunDoo has a talk with Haein about her feelings for Kiwoong . She is not there yet , but is continuing to spend a lot of time with him as well as discussing all this stuff with him . I think she will be the last to know . You jung is NOT happy either , but she is nowhere near as powerful in her own home as Nara is .

Finally - Sukhyun tells Jongnam his truth about being " adopted " The first person he has ever shared that with .

Really enjoying this re watch .

Re:

Addie.. I'm enjoying this re-watch also. Don't worry about getting behind (I won't either) I don't care how long we wallow in an episode. If you are busy (or I am) and can't respond/reply to an episode, the world won't end. We'll get to it eventually. The pace we're going (super slow) is a good pace to do this watch. I was always trying to rush thru it so I could post or read others' posts. But now that we know full well the entire story and the ending, I have no problem watching like a snail. emoticon emoticon emoticon

And yeah, didn't realize, Jongnam IS the first person Suky's confided in to this extent. I remember him trying to share with Haein before and I hated that he was doing that. He backed off and held it in after a couple attempts at talking to her. Think he was so desperate to just TALK about it to someone (remember how it was his 'friend' who found out he was adopted?). And I think he meant to hold it in longer but Jongnam's refusal to be in this runaway issue with him pushed him to spill what he knows about his abandonment.

Also, I was thinking about how I categorize K-dramas. I have my favorites in the 16-24 episode category; and then my 50-54 weekend dramas (some of them are pretty darn good, i.e. Here Comes Ajumma, Sons of The Sol Pharmacy House, Five Enough, and now My Father is Strange, and lastly, the LONG 100+ dramas. Actually this category can tire me out. Sometimes they will just throw in one idiotic issue after another, just to drag it as far as they can. In this category, only one stands out in my mind/heart. That's Bizarre Bunch. I will never tire of it. I will most likely try to watch it every couple years, just to again analyze each character and situation. So I'm really glad we're doing this watch... emoticon
