What is the most contemporary and simple way to host my avatar image?

I would like users to see my avatar attached to my username but the process is so peculiar, requiring me to host the image and provide a link to it. I know that if I search these forums there is one article that gives links and instructions to hosting sites but it seems outdated.

How you host your avatar image so that it is featured on this site?

Kencaesi, I believe you can host images on a site like Imageshack or TinyPic. They even have options to resize your desired picture to an avatar size. Hope this helps!

I used to use ImageShack, but recently they have changed to a subscription (pay) service. Now I'm back to using PhotoShack, which is still free.

Yes, I noticed that, too. They have a Free Trial deal going on where you can upload a certain amount of photos for free before they begin to charge you. I went over the limit and so I've been using TinyPic. I'll check PhotoShack out, too!

Thank you everyone - I tried tinypic and after just uploading my pic with no sign-up, it seems to be working great.
