Final thoughts: Despite how horrible the drama was throughout most of the series, it actually had one of the best endings for a daily, at least from my perspective. So dark and sad yet it worked out. Twisted for sure. I like how Yeriin gradually softened throughout the course of 5 or so episodes instead of at the last minute. I don't think her accident was deserved and it was sad that it happened when she had finally straightened out. Definitely a shocker and I loved this ending. This drama redeemed itself in the end. nondisclosed_email@example.com (GilM)Fri, 20 Dec 2013 13:32:34 +0000 Re:https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064421,from=rss#post2064421https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064421,from=rss#post2064421I will have to take your word for it because it has almost been a month since I last saw the episode so my memory wont be so good and this should be more fresh in your mind as you just did it recently. But from what I recall this is what happened. After the accident when she is in the hospital the brother comes with the doctor and informs the mother that Yerin had signed up for organ donation after her death (Don't remember if Yerin ever mentioned this before must have missed that episode) The mom got real angry and said how could he even suggest such a thing for his sister. Even Seyoung was against this at the moment. Much later on while Seyoung was recovering at home and pondering over certain matters (such as listening to Yerins last voice mail to her) she came to a decision and went to see her mother and told her that they should follow Yerins final wishes. Mom got real mad at her and told her how could she even say that and could she be without Yerin etc... Sometime later on Seyoung went back to the hospital and apologized to Yerin for even suggesting this (organ donation etc) and told her that she wanted her to get ell soon so that they could go back to things as they were before. Such as argue at work, get into fights with each other and resolve them etc... This is what the mother overheard and was quite moved by this I assume. Though mom later went in after Seyong left and even tried to move Yerin out of the room so that she may have been revived by the Power of The Sun. Well that didn't work out very well. Thankfully she was not sent to the mental ward. We then jump to 5 Years in the near future. Over there at the Unveiling ceremony the chairman said something like :This is Yerin, who's alive in all our hearts and who is especially alive in mine. I took that to assume that they were implying that he had therefore gotten a heart transplant from her. Granted as I watched this some time ago I may be mistaken in my memories so I may have missed something or gotten confused with something else. So please correct me if I am wrong. As for Serin I don't really think that Seyoung has anything to worry about as she wont try to kill her aunt or anything unless that is actually Yerin reincarnated (I don't believe in that but some Koreans do and they could use that as the plot for another future drama) perhaps that is why there are so many similarities between Yerin and Serin. In that case perhaps Seyoung should worry about it but in the future, As they like to say better safe than sorry. Though perhaps she should keep an eye out on her just to protect her daughter (a tale of two cousins ) But otherwise I don't really think that it is required. The reason that Yerin turned out like that is that she was pretty insecure about herself and her role in the family. She had already been abandoned twice before. Once by Grace and the other time when she was adopted the first time. That family sent her back as soon as they got their own child. Therefore she would always have her doubts in this family and they would only increase when she would have discovered that her mother had a lost daughter. She may have felt a bit of relief before when she wasn't actively searching for Seyoung but that dramatically increased after discovering that her mother was searching for her once again. She was afraid that she would loose it all once again. She didn't really have to fear that though. Still it was understandable. So when she told on live television of how she felt I don't think that she was totally faking everything and that she sincerely meant some of those things. For instance I doubt that going into broadcasting may have been her original dream but she still went into that field because her mother was in it. This way she would have something in common with her also if she would be good people would comment something like mother and daughter this way their bond would have been greater and thus it would have been more difficult for the mother to abandon her due their common bonds and what not. Her insecurities only increased when she discovered that her mother left her side during the operation to see her biological daughter (which was a false alarm at that time) Had that really been the one her fears would have only gotten wore. Infact I blame Kim Juhui 100% for doing that but what can one do this is only a drama so will have to let it go. Though it is quite possible that I am again reading into things that aren't really there. Though Yerin did become a organ donor far before her death. It started with donating some of her liver for her mother and ended up with more than her heart. You know maybe you aren't completely wrong about Yerin not having a heart or being replaced by an Alien etc. What must have happened that sometime during her life she was abducted by Aliens who wanted to study humans during this time so that no one would get suspicious they released a doppelganger (this was the mean, conniving one) Later on they retrieved their model and sent back the original. Since she was so unsure of herself and her surroundings she was doing all that community service and what not (the original) thats why the difference in personality. Or maybe the Aliens were experimenting on Humans to see what would happen if they removed certain parts of the body and what not. So during this time Yerin was without a heart but by the end it had regrown (was surviving on some sort of Alien Tech (Hmm she was even abandoned by them) Thus she could donate her heart by the end. Though this was never mentioned so I am totally shooting in the dark. Anyway nice to see and hear all your comments. But the episode never made clear the connection with Mr. Anh's own heart transplant. Even her own sister Seyeong had a scene where she told Yerin that that would have been for the best, with tears in her eyes. This Ms. Kim overheard and caused her to change her mind to allow the transplants. nondisclosed_email@example.com (TomCat)Wed, 18 Dec 2013 08:53:01 +0000 Re:https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064410,from=rss#post2064410https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064410,from=rss#post2064410Rumors are that this is not the only drama to mess up big time like this. Just wait till you see another drama that is being talked about online. I believe that is a much bigger mess if all the rumors are true about it. Tomcat thankyou for telling me that bit now I can go and watch that episode. I did recall that it was somewhere near the end unfortunately I might have missed that bit for some weird reason and all. I think it was mentioned that the CEO survived because he received a heart transplant. It was during the final get together when the CEO was giving a few words he went and said something like this that Yerin was in all of their hearts in his more or something like that. What I took this to mean that while she was in the memory of the others but for him it had a double meaning since he survived due to her heart being transplanted into him. Granted I may be taking things out of context and he may have meant something else altogether. Yerin did decided to donate all her organs after her death so that was also the basis of my assumption. I liked that bit when all the families were all together just felt sad that Yerin wasn't in the group only in Spirit (thats why we couldn't see her over there) and the only picture that they had was the one she was with Seyoung and that to the only photo that they took with each other and also the one that happened before the big accident that took her life. Just when the two sisters were starting to get along and she being accepted by Seyoungs other sisters this had to go and happen. Really I feel like some of these writers go to some crack house and smoke/eat something weird that make them write all these weird stories which totally don't make sense to me. I don't really mind Seyoung ending up with Jose. Though I do feel sort of cheated that it did happen. Over here we are given the impression for more than 100 episodes that she will be with Jaseong when this writer does this about turn from nowhere and makes all the pairings switch around. So who we thought was the second lead turns out to be the main lead all of a sudden. Sure I could say that I could see that the interactions between Jose and Seyoung were always nice and if I didn't know drama laws I could have seen them together but knowing what I knew I fully expected to see her end up with Jaesong. Was surprised to see that I was wrong. In regards to Seyoung moving back with Kim Juhui and her family I may have missed something or it may have been after the five year time skip. But from what I gathered and again this is just my opinion so I may be of the mark is as follows. I suspect that she didn't fully move out of that house. So while she lived with her dad she would occasionally spend sometime at her mothers place. Like if she came to visit and it would get late she would spend the night over there. Also now that she was getting on good terms with Yerin I suspect she would plan on staying for longer periods. Clearly she wouldn't want to spend more time before because it would have made Yerin uncomfortable and that certainly wouldn't be a good start if you wanted to come on good terms with your sister as she would have felt threatened. So she must have kept her visits to a minimum. Frankly Jaesong was a total enigma to me. First he wants to marry Seyoung. He is so totally gaga over here that he even goes and gets a marriage certificate and what not. Then after some serious consideration that had something to do with a magical Jade Ring he decided to marry Yerin (Even after knowing that she stole it and it was not his grandfathers last wish as everyone believed), then he decides to dump her at the altar. One would think that it was all over and maybe he would move on. But no suddenly he has feelings all over again for her and he wants to marry her once again. Seriously then what was all that going on with Seyoung. Was he just messing around with her or what. I guess he deserved what he got for being alone at the end. Messing around with two girls hearts and what not. Karma finally caught upto him. Though I do hope that he eventually finds a nice young girl who can settle down with him and has a lot of patience to do all those family memorial meals and what not. I actually felt sorry for a brief moment when I saw what not Yerin had to do, ie the pig feet and what not. Though since she was not yet in her redeeming phase that moment passed quite fast. I don't really think that Yerin was replaced I think it was just that she woke upto reality. What she feared the most in the world happened to her. Namely she finally managed to disappoint her mother in a big way and slowly she was loosing everything that she actually cared about. This made her want to rethink all of her life possibilities and decisions that she was to make. For that she needed to go out on her own. She was always a bit insecure about herself and her family and this way she actually got to see what mattered to her the most and who. Still I didn't quite get what her feelings were towards Seyoung. One minute it seems that she is quite remorseful towards all the others but when she sees Seyoung she became all antagonistic towards her and her rivalry showed up again. Though after finding out about the CEO condition she became worried and friendly once again. Also while she was planning on revealing to eyoung after her marriage that she was an item with Jaseong once again she was also planning on dissapearing once again for some time while she sorted out her priorities. Basically I think the writer started out with a fixed plan but somewhere along the way they got so confused that they ended up mixing up and adding stories that this is what we got. I mean even if we look at one of the Synopsis for this drama it mentions both Jaseong and Seyoung meeting and falling in love. Well that happened but they also fell out of love as well so they shouldn't even have bothered with that if they didn't intend to keep that bit. Found that the only thing that was interesting about this entire show. Either way I am now enjoying the new daily for the moment. Can't even believe some of the things that are happening over there. Well anyway post has gone on long enough. Hope to hear from all of you soon either here or there Till then take care. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Spam King)Wed, 18 Dec 2013 01:15:45 +0000 Re: K-Drama: 지성이면 감천 (A Tale of Two Sisters / Sincerity is the Way of Heaven)https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064409,from=rss#post2064409https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064409,from=rss#post2064409     Today I broke down and watched both episodes 134, and the finale 135. Did Yerin get a soul transplant! had she been kidnapped by aliens and replaced with a robotic doppelganger?            Even her love interest Jaeseong was still trying to stay in her life, even after all the nonsense Yerin had put him through!! ...oh so very unbelievable.      I watched the episodes at the Youtube KBS site and even these episodes didn't explain to me how Mr. Ahn survived his failing heart, Spam King I believe that Minsook was found to be pregnant in episode 134.      Oh by the way how did everyone like the series's finale scene where all the living members of this huge extended family took that farewell photo for us to share with them, I was surprised who were included who didn't have a child and that it took me a while before I was able to spot Jaeseong in the crowd.      I'm just going to have to find a episode index so I be able to watch more of its key moments of the episodes I had missed. Like why and when did Seyeong go back to live with Ms. Kim's family again, and why these major changes in Yerin's personality. I still hate the idea that Seyeong ended up with Jose at the end. nondisclosed_email@example.com (TomCat)Tue, 17 Dec 2013 23:04:36 +0000 Re:https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064403,from=rss#post2064403https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064403,from=rss#post2064403Soooo glad this has ended... Man was I surprised with who Seoyoung's father ended up with by the finale. I really would have put real money on Ms. Kim myself. And I'm very glad with the resolution of who finally ended the series as Seoyoung's spouse. The next K-drama (Melody of Love) looks to be lighter, so I guess they are not including a loose cannon nut-job as one of the main antagonist, thank goodness. nondisclosed_email@example.com (TomCat)Sun, 15 Dec 2013 12:29:50 +0000 Re:https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064394,from=rss#post2064394https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064394,from=rss#post2064394That is exactly my point what happened with Yerin was extreme and I didn't like that one bit. Granted that I have not been watching K-Dramas as long as anyone of you so I can't comment on things such as characters leaving the country or going to monasteries (Will have to recomend those shows to me if they were any good and if I get the time will watch them) but even in those cases I feel that there is a good chance of future reconciliations and maybe become better friends/sibblings but this was highway robbery of the highest order for me. Infact I would have rather preferred if in that fatal accident both Seyoung and Yerin passed away and in the end they find themselves in heaven (Sincerity is the Way to Heaven after all) and over here they get to bond much better etc,, or something to that extent. could go on but what is the point of harping over spillt milk so I might leave it for now. While I am glad that Seyoungs dad finally decided to get married I felt that his interactions were a bit overboard. Then again I have never been in love so perhaps that is the normal. I also think that oh well never mind. On the other hand does anyone remember the episode when Misook finds out that she is pregnant. I think I kind of missed that episode and would like to go over it once more. The ending was totally unpredictable to me. Granted there were things that I could predict but certainly not this. As for the new show I am already at Episode 18 and I am certainly enjoying it much more than I enjoyed this show. But then again it is at its early stages I am pretty sure that it is going to drag on and what not later on and I might just as easily get frustrated over there as well. So far I am loving the near misses and misconception galore that is happening. Yet at the same time I feel that the story may be progressing a bit to fast. What I mean by this is that if this was maybe a 50 episode show format then things would feel right but for a 120 episode (minimum)things might be progressing a bit to fast for me therefore I worry about the quality of the story later on. But that is another bridge to cross at another time. Well anyhow I think all points have been covered successfully so till then take care and hope to hear from all of you soon.Till then live well. Frankly I was screaming out in my head What the heck just happened. This was done by a really unconventional writer and 99% chance I am going to be avoiding works by this one. (Unless I have nothing better to do and this is coming on KBS World.) Don't worry you didn't really miss anything worth though if you want blanks can easily be filled. Wont say much incase others haven't watched the ending and are waiting for a recap etc... Though this isn't the end of the story. It will be continuing in a new series called A Tale of Two Cousins. The story is as follows. Grace returns and swears revenge on the people for letting her daughter die (Esp people like the CEO who are enjoying health benefits from her) So what happens next is that she kidnaps one of the daughters (Serin or Seyoungs daughter) preferably at an amusement park. If it is Seyoungs daughter then Seyoung will face the same problem that her mother faced with her etc... and if it was Serin than depends on the circumstances (ie Seyoung was supervising all the kids at the park and her brother will blame her even claiming that this was revenge for loosing her when she was a kid) etc.. Either way we then get a time skip and the two cousins will meet up (not knowing that they are related ofcourse. The child will think that Grace is her real mother) She may also make an appearance with her new daughter etc.. Ocourse both cousins will fall for the same man Haven't decided if the cousins work in the same profession like lets say acting etc Anyway you all get the idea (Please note there is no such drama I just made it all up due to the frustration that I got watching this one ) Doubt anyone could have gone through all that and more. Frankly they might have had a better shot of either killing of Seyoung with all the pain she went through it might have been better or instead of the little incident that happened and you want to keep everyone alive it would have been better if Seyoung went into a coma instead of someone else and The Stick could have been by her side and taking care of her. So the first person that she would see when she woke up would be The Stick taking care of her. Frankly that would have been a better ending for me. Thus their bonds would vastly improve. Speaking of Yerin dying I really wish that the two sisters had more time to spend together and could bond with each other more. This show really robbed me of a lot of enjoyment unfortunately. Still think that it was wrong of Seyoung to even consider marrying Jaesong but one can't help what they feel correct. Though I have to wonder all these big events that happened (the parents getting married [By the way that was all over the top] and when the were donating all that bread) did anyone notice that neither Kim Juhui or The Stick attended these functions yet her kids did (Son and Daughter - in Law). One must truly wonder if either the two were not invited to these functions or if they just didn't bother to show up. I can understand The Stick not showing up then but Kim Juhui should have. If felt like she didn't totally warm up to Seyoung as much as she claimed. Either way feel like I have said to much already and it is time for me to move on to the next show. Unfortunately I am only able to watch dailies at the moment just browsing at other shows occasionally so can't join you gi=uys on those other nice shows. Still looking forward to all your comments till then take care. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Spam King)Sat, 14 Dec 2013 03:03:29 +0000 Re: K-Drama: 지성이면 감천 (A Tale of Two Sisters / Sincerity is the Way of Heaven)https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064383,from=rss#post2064383https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064383,from=rss#post2064383Well, so much for this one. I was surprised to see that tonight was the end of the drama. I've been watching only the last half of each episode, so I don't really know what happened. Tonight jumped to "5 Years Later." Yerin seems to have died along the way somewhere. Looks like Gieun's parents had a son, a perfect model son of a Head family of the clan. Apparently, Seyeong married the CEO's son and popped out a couple kids. Mr. CEO didn't die after all, but was saved and still alive five years later, enjoying his large family and grandchildren. I'm not quite sure what the KBS schedule will be with upcoming holidays and so forth. But, the next Daily drama that KBS Korea aired is called "Melody of Love." I know we are nearing the end of it, anyone have an exact date/episode though?nondisclosed_email@example.com (GilM)Sat, 30 Nov 2013 22:41:46 +0000 Re:https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064272,from=rss#post2064272https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064272,from=rss#post2064272I am assuming that when you refer to Yerins step mom you are referring to Kim Juhui in regards to her perhaps ending up with Joses dad. Well not to worry if they follow standard conventional K-Drama laws that shouldn't happen. Why you may ask well simply put we all want to some extent that Yerin should be able to redeem herself by the end and maybe even the pairings should revert themselves and correct themselves etc... In that case Jose would end up with Yerin and if that were to happen then the parents couldn't end up marrying each other as these two would then become siblings. Thus no chance of that happening and even if the pairings don't change and Seyoung ends up with Jose the (thus an unconventional ending) then the case will still apply. So I guess that this pairing is guaranteed not to happen thankfully. Unfortunately many of the pairings that we hoped to happen didn't happen. (Ie Donguk and the middle sister and Kim Juhui and Jinsa) Frankly I would have preferred these two pairings over the current ones that they are heading for. Atlesast be thankful though that Grace didn't end up with Jinsa. That would have been a nightmare to an extent. So some good did come about. I get the feeling that she was just added for some reason but then the writer simply forgot what it was and now she is just lost somewhere in dramaland. She did have some good moments though what they were have been already lost from my mind. If my calculations are correct you should be around episodes 120-121 if I did my math correctly. Unfortunately I am terrible at maths now so I may be mistaken. Either way there are some good scenes to come but be warned some equally boring ones are also to come. Anyhow take care and hope to hear from all of you soon. Certainly have a few more points that I wanted to bring up but since you all are behind will have to wait till you catch up. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Spam King)Wed, 27 Nov 2013 00:43:44 +0000 Re: K-Drama: 지성이면 감천 (A Tale of Two Sisters / Sincerity is the Way of Heaven)https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064270,from=rss#post2064270https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064270,from=rss#post2064270slantyeye: Everyone ending up together is a trademark of Taiwanese dramas except they do a much better job at making it all look natural from beginning to end. sherlesin: I think storylines for dailies, in general, suck but there are many that I still find interesting. Things happened that were beyond my control. (Though it did teach me to be a bit more careful in certain regards so not all was a loss) Not sure what you mean by S-Line and V-Line but be some thing to do with fashion but then that is a field where I am totally unaware of facts sadly. In regards to Seyoungs looks she certainly looks much better over here than her appearance in School (2013). Can't say anything about her in Love Rain as I totally missed that show. Frankly was not interested in it so didn't even try watching a single eps so have no idea what happened over there. Still she was also good looking in her role in Faith. So I guess it all depends on their makeup artists and fashion designers. In regards to the scene where she tells Jose that if she married anyone it would only be him. To that I can only say that using a saying..... If it sounds like a duck, if it walks like a duck and if it looks like a duck then it is a very good chance that it is a duck. But then again I have also learnt that if something is to good to be true then well I am sure that you get the idea and for me it is best to be vague as possible as to not spoil you all with Spoiler materials. On the other hand this show finally ended about a week back. On one hand I am glad to see it all over but then on the other hand.... Guess that this is a blessing in disguise. All that I am willing to say after watching this series is that this is certainly one of the few unconventional writers that I have come across so far. If I encounter her work in the future and unless it is on KBS I will most definitely be avoiding them if I can help it. (good thing that I only get KBS over here otherwise I would be so glued to my TV Screen that it would be hard to get me out of my home for anything. For instance lets see some of the things that this writer has done. After such a long time in the series the writer suddenly switched the pairings and maybe by the end they might revert to the original ones or then again they might not. But I felt that it was done without much warning. Sure I can say that I always so that the signs were there I just didn't pay all that much attention to them as it was set in my head who the main pairings were. (granted that was my mistake) For instance she was always more open to Jose from the start. Any big news she would tell him first. (Such as the matter relating to her family, search for bio family etc...) only much later on did she start opening up to Jaseong but at that time we were already given the impression that they were meant to be. So I ignored all the other signs. Also in the Synopsis of the drama it mentions Syoung and Jaseong and how they both meet and fall in love. More like how they meet and fall out of love. . I don't think that The Sticks actress looked bad. Infact I have stated a few times that if she were to ever try out a role in some fantasy story she could look like a great Elf all that she would need would be some Pointy Vulcan Ears to end up. But perhaps for this role maybe not. Well I guess that we can finally say farewell to the pairing of Jinsa and Kim Juhui. The way that they are going it seems that he will end up with Sarah Kim. Guess that is why Donguk doesn't end up with the middle sister because the parents will become an item (perhaps) Frankly I don't get it what does he see in the girl and if he was so against her when did the two even have time to get those cozy photos taken together. I mean if you are against someone you don't take photos with them. At times like this I feel the writer was trying to fool us. Maybe it was a Secret Love and it had something to do with a dead child and a hit and run secret between the two. Oh wait that is another show that I am mixing up with my bad. Another thing that I learnt while watching this show is that one should be certainly be careful what you wish for. For instance there are people who are so irked of at certain characters that they wish for that said person to just get arrested for their actions or be sent to a mental institution etc....... and when such a thing happens they are all regretting even wishing for that to happen. Maybe I am a fool who would like to see a happy ending for as many people as possible or the villain to be finally redeemed. (Sometimes) Either way it should be done right etc... I am sure you get what I mean I am sorry that I can't express myself better. In regards to The Sticks wedding. I loved the response to why he wanted to marry her in the first place. I want to marry you so that I can protect you. Then a person commented to that what is he talking about it is the other people who all need protection from Yerin not the other way round. I guess it is safe that the One Jade Ring to bind them all is now on the way to Golem who will need to replace his One Ring to Rule Them all for the time being. Either way that is all from me for the time and will now be of to watch the new drama which is so far much lighter than this one. But given time I am sure will become just as troublesome as this one. Will try to figure out all the birth secrets and what not in that one. Also will be slapping my head a lot wondering why the heck people dont simply confront the other party with what they know to clear up misunderstandings and what not etc... Guess then it wont really be a drama them Anyway till then take care and hope to hear from all of you soon. time for me to Secret. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Spam King)Tue, 26 Nov 2013 01:43:15 +0000 Re: K-Drama: 지성이면 감천 (A Tale of Two Sisters / Sincerity is the Way of Heaven)https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064260,from=rss#post2064260https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064260,from=rss#post2064260When she is with other people around her is when it most stands out but just by herself you can see that she has fullness in her cheeks. Especially those pictures that they take for the banners that appear at the end of each episode. I personally love Park Seyeong's body type and, just as you mentioned, find Yerin's body type unattractive. It's a little too extreme. The point being she is a lead actress nonetheless which means that there is starting to be a change in thought as far as what a woman on TV can look like? She is only about 5'3" in height.... so not exactly your 5'7-9" girl... and as you mentioned nchristi, probably to show girls that there is more than one kind of attractive. Definitely a topic that deserves its own thread but just an interesting point to take note of as far as this drama goes.nondisclosed_email@example.com (GilM)Mon, 25 Nov 2013 23:27:03 +0000 Re: K-Drama: 지성이면 감천 (A Tale of Two Sisters / Sincerity is the Way of Heaven)https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064256,from=rss#post2064256https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064256,from=rss#post2064256I've noticed the same about the Seyeong actress, GilM. All the lead actresses seem so super skinny that someone more average-shaped stands out. I notice the same thing when European/American actresses are in scenes with Asian actresses, especially the Koreans. The joke used to be that all K-actresses are 5' 7-9" with weight of 105 lbs. (Princess Aurora is listed as 5'6" and weighing 101 lbs). Sometimes it's just the difference of being in a scene alone or with others with which to make a comparison. I had a friend who did a lot of local musical theater. She was not overweight at all, but did not have one of those bird-like body type. If she was on stage with dancers behind her, she looked fine. But if she appeared alone, she looked like a horse (as they say). I noticed the same about Seyeong. Sometimes she looks somewhat "thick," other times among other people, she looks normal. Of course being beside "the stick" would make anyone look like a horse. Yerin's thinness may be desirable in acting circles but I don't see her body as attractive. She reminds me of a lanky teenage boy, especially with those masculine looking banded slacks she frequently wears. To the contrary, the wedding outfit presented Yerin as a very beautiful, feminine woman. In fact, it seemed that the particular gown she was wearing was particularly abundant in volume and she wore it well. But I'm glad to see Seyeong as she is. It really isn't good to see only the extreme thinness of many of these actresses. The public gets too used to the fantasy model, no longer able to accept what is healthy and and "normal," creating a great burden for girls during their formative years.  nondisclosed_email@example.com (nchristi)Mon, 25 Nov 2013 17:31:07 +0000 Re: K-Drama: 지성이면 감천 (A Tale of Two Sisters / Sincerity is the Way of Heaven)https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064248,from=rss#post2064248https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064248,from=rss#post2064248I know right? It seemed so random and out of place with such a sudden change of mind from Seyeong. Keep in mind the editing isn't always the greatest so it could have been so out of context. Don't know if it was on purpose or not but just as nchristi mentioned, the scene where Yerin was in her wedding dress and dripping mascara was just oh so perfect for her character. Best part of this drama is it's almost oveeeeeer!!! Also, I wanted to mention something I noticed throughout this drama that I didn't know if it had been discussed in this thread and might be a bit off topic so please excuse me: Don't know about Korean beauty standards but from what I understand it's a V-line this and S-line that with usually one perfect body type that most girls aspire to through plastic surgery and what not. Park Seyeong did not fit that typical mold. She actually looks to be on the heavier side compared to the rest of the actresses. I'm not complaining at all nor do I think she is fat or anything (just to clarify here) but I found that interesting... I've seen her in Love Rain and School 2013 and she didn't look the same so was it just something she did for this specific role?nondisclosed_email@example.com (GilM)Sun, 24 Nov 2013 22:57:47 +0000 Re: K-Drama: 지성이면 감천 (A Tale of Two Sisters / Sincerity is the Way of Heaven)https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064225,from=rss#post2064225https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064225,from=rss#post2064225Yerin made a pretty bride, I must admit. Until we had the psycho scene alone in the bride's room, her mascara dripping in well-placed triangles, sort of the K-version of a bridal harlequin. Was that little scene between Seyeong and Jeonghyo for real? (If I marry, it will be only to you.) Or Jeonghyo's imagination of what he would like to have happened when Seyeong came home and found him in the alleyway waiting for her. Unfortunately, I fear it was too good to be true. nondisclosed_email@example.com (nchristi)Fri, 22 Nov 2013 13:08:19 +0000 Re:https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064218,from=rss#post2064218https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064218,from=rss#post2064218I hope Jeongho & Seyeong end up together but I'm used to this writers disappointing me.
