Re:

In the first or second episode there was an allusion to Soonshin being adapted? Was there any background on that?
I didn't see any flashbacks or anything like that to explain how she came into the family.

Well I guess from the above comment that all of you must be on episode 3 by the time I write this hopefully just incase beware.

No I don't think that they have given a back story of how IU has come into the family as of yet for you. Perhaps in a future episode. Had this been one of the normal weekday shows (16-20 eps) then we would have been introduced to everything by now emoticon but since this will be atleast 50 eps you can be sure that it wont be revealed until much later on and only if it is relevant and will have some major impact on the story/ emoticon

So we finally find out that the shady looking person was a conman after all and that he successfully managed to con IU and her family emoticon .
Which certainly does not come as a big surprise. To be honest I do feel a bit sorry for IU and her family but not by much all of this could have easily been avoided. Hasn't IU's mum ever heard the old adage "That if something is do good to be true it generally isn't" granted that she felt bad about missing her daughters birthday she wasn't thinking fully just trying to make it up. Thought wise she did well action wise not so much emoticon . Then Junho could have also stepped up but he didn't (don't know what kind of boss he is but I doubt that I would want to work for said person) In the previous episode he was clearly warned by his assistant that a conman was out in the market and was spoiling his name. Instead of taking it seriously he told his assistant that he couldn't handle all this police hassle and that he should pretend that he is Junho towards the police or something. Therefore when he saw and heard that IU was calling someone else by his name (President Shin)he should have gone and confronted that person to be on the safe side as a responsible person emoticon Had he made a mistake he could have just apologized and moved on. emoticon Granted had this happened we wouldn't have much of a story now would we. Just saying if we were speaking realistically emoticon

After watching how that actress lives I kind of feel sorry for her. All alone in that big house of hers and the only thing to give her company is watching a projector of her in her prime. I don't mind living alone but the vibe that her place gave of to me was quite sad and lonely. (hope you understand what I am trying to convey over here)

Also after watching the previous episode (I think) when her manager sees and recognizes IU\s dad and the way he was prowling the streets of his neighborhood makes me think that there is much more than meets the eye over here. My drama sense is tingling :o :0
By any chance can Mireyong (the big actress) be IU's Bio mum. Maybe I see to much into nothing but this gives me familiar vibes after watching The Thorn Birds. Over there the 2nd female leads mom (who was an actress) leaves her daughter and continues her career. This leads that daughter towards a dark path. (The Dark Side is really dangerous). Since this is a family drama I doubt that IU is going to go all Dark Side and seek revenge and all emoticon plus she is far to young to even have such thoughts.

It is cute to watch IU's niece. Tends to speak in english a lot though one should tend to her manners. Granted given her current situation I do feel some leniency can be given.

Junho gave IU a nice nick name in this episode hope that he keeps calling her that in even future episodes. Maybe later on it can be like a term/name of endearment between these two. emoticon

I have to give that the conman has Guts returning to the scene of the crime. (Sure he was out to con his next victim) but still. Hasn't he ever heard it is the biggest mistake for a crook to return to the scene of the crime as that is the fastest method of getting captured. emoticon Guess he is not that smart but he sure can run must have a lot of practice in that department emoticon

Well as this post as gone on long enough just regarding the 2nd eps alone I will leave it for now and look towards your posts. Then maybe I will comment on the 3rd eps. Sorry for abandoning the Mr Kim section though, When given the time will hopefully return over there as well.

Till next time and
All Will Be One
Take Care

With two instances of child abandonment in Mr. Kim,and one here, this seems to be a current KBS theme. There have been many hints that Mireyong is Sunshin`s mother.I still haven`t figured out all the show business connections and relationships.

One thing I noticed on these K-drama is the characters drink too much be it a man or a woman, then the woman wakes up in a hotel with a man and then becomes pregnant. Same theme always!

Hmm I finally get to sit down and watch this drama. I think I've skipped quite a few emoticon. I just noticed Son Tae Young. My golly I haven't seen her since "one million roses". Yes I know that was an oldie but I didn't see her other works. Maybe my turn off is Yoo In Na's character hehe.

Re: K-Drama: 최고다 이순신 (Lee Soon Shin is the Best)

From those of us watching on the local kbs channel (aka kxla) are they cutting off portions of this drama as well? And are they cutting off important things or is it tolerable? Thanks.

I'm confused - is Song Miryeong an ex-lover of Sunshin's dad or was Song a daughter from
A previous relationship? In one of the previous episodes, they show an older picture of her and Sunshin's dad at her graduation.
To me, he's too old to have been an ex-lover. Is it possible that Sunshin's mom is incorrect or misunderstood her husband's relationship toSong Miryeong?

Also, why is Song Miryeong's manager all in her business? Is he just looking out for his self interests?
How does Sunshin being related to Changhun really affect Song Miryeong? I'm not quite following that aspect of the story

Re:

I always thought that Sunshins's father and Song Miryeong were old friends from when they grew up together in some small country village back in the day. And they grew apart after father graduated college and went to teach in the big city college where he meet his wife.
After Song changed her name, became an actress, and rediscovered Sunshins's father Song then approached him for help when Song became pregnant with Sunshins. Being a pregers unwed actress even in the late eighties in the U.S. was a bad career move, much more so in Korea. If you recall Sunshins's father brought her home one day claiming to have found her on a sidewalk on his way home. And baby Sunshins was wearing the knit scarf that Song wore with Dad in the picture from Dad's graduation day.
I seem to recall that the day Dad died was after he and Song had meet, and they had argued about telling Sunshins about a secret. I wonder when is Song going to discover who Sunshin's father was. And how she might be related to Sunshin!
