I will have to try it out sometime when I am at a computer that has Chrome installed. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Hiroshi66)Tue, 05 Nov 2013 10:23:48 +0000 Re: New Quick Reply Boxhttps://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064065,from=rss#post2064065https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064065,from=rss#post2064065You're very welcome, Hiroshi! It's great for slow typists, bad spellers, and people who have trouble typing due to injury or some other reason. It's not as helpful for fast typists, because it works best when things are said slowly with a clear separation between words, and I can probably type faster than that. I spoke all of the following into this thing, and it got it all right. class blockquote It's really good with its spelling and grammar. They're not going to their house. I put some eyedrops in my eye. I threw 8 darts through the window, then ate a pizza.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Tue, 05 Nov 2013 09:55:40 +0000 Re: New Quick Reply Boxhttps://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064060,from=rss#post2064060https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064060,from=rss#post2064060Very interesting stuff, Lesigner Girl! I use Safari, so unfortunately I'm unable to use this new feature, but I will check it out on another computer with Chrome. Even if it's still preliminary, I think this is great technology! Thanks for keeping us updated. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Hiroshi66)Tue, 05 Nov 2013 08:42:35 +0000 Re: New Quick Reply Boxhttps://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064058,from=rss#post2064058https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2064058,from=rss#post2064058I'm a little late to this, Hiroshi, but you're welcome! Yesterday, Chrome users might have started noticing little microphones in the quick reply. This is a voice recognition feature I discovered a couple of days ago, which uses Google's technology, still seems to be in its experimental stages, and doesn't support much more than English at this point. American English, to be more exact. To put a full stop at the end of a sentence, you need to say 'period'. It also converts 'comma', 'question mark', and both 'exclamation point' and 'exclamation mark', but it will spell out the word 'quote'. I can't find a way to make a new line or paragraph, other than hitting the enter key on my keyboard, and you still have to submit it the old-fashioned way, too. Oh, and to use it, just click on the microphone and start speaking into a decent microphone when it tells you to. I hope some people will find this useful. It's just a shame it only works in Google Chrome, and not in all devices.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Tue, 05 Nov 2013 08:18:28 +0000 New Quick Reply Boxhttps://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2058501,from=rss#post2058501https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2058501,from=rss#post2058501Hello everyone, This is a quick announcement to let you know that there are now two separate ways to reply to a post. 1) Quick Reply Box - You may have noticed the box located at the bottom of the page in the threads. This allows you to compose a reply on the same screen without clicking on a link. 2) "Reply with smilies" - The link is located right above the Quick Reply box. Clicking on it will open up a new screen for you to compose your post. (This was formerly known as the "Add a reply" link, so everyone is familiar with it.) Furthermore, clicking on the "Quote" button (to quote another member's post) leads you directly to the "Reply with smilies" screen. If you want to test the new Quick Reply Box out, you may do so in the Test Posts thread located in the Tech Forum. Note) The Quick Reply Box is designed by Runboard admin Lesigner Girl. Thank you! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Hiroshi66)Fri, 16 Nov 2012 06:04:21 +0000
