Re: K-Drama On Air Schedule in SoCal (Updated Jan 31, 2014)

"Jung Do Jun" will air on Sat/Sun 9:40pm channel 44.1 starting 2/8//14. I've watched the 2nd half of it last night. It seems quite interesting.

Re: K-Drama On Air Schedule in SoCal (Updated Jan 31, 2014)

The KXLA 44.1 schedule does not list this drama. Instead, in the time slot it shows "Open Concert" and "Korea Sings."

However, I notice that the Time Warner/Cox schedule is listing "Jung Do Jun" as you mention above.

Thanks for the heads-up, Josephine. Those who have Time Warner/Cox will be able to enjoy it. If members want me to create a thread for it, please make your wishes known. I will make one if people want to discuss it on the board.

(Note: "Jung do Jun" will not be listed in the "K-Drama On Air Schedule" thread, since those who view terrestrial KXLA 44.1 will be unable to view it.)

Apologies, Josephinec01. You were correct and I was sadly mistaken. I have created a new thread for Jeong DoJeon.

If you know, would you please tell me which episodes were shown this weekend—Feb 22-23. That will enable me to add the beginning and end dates. Thanks.

Hi nchristi, this drama started on 2/8. Last night should be on episode 5. I was watching NHK's historical drama last night, so I miss the beginning of this episode.

Re: New dramas

nchristi,

Not sure if this is the place but I have been watching a drama every weeknight called 'Son Baek Daughter of the King' for several episodes. I use Cox cable channel 481 which seems to change call letters at times TVK at times and even MBC. However I have not seen this listed with us and it is such a good drama I wondered why it had been missed. I doubt it is historical but it is a good early costume drama. It is keeping my attention off my medial problems for which I am grateful right now.

I'm guessing the reason why nchristi doesn't have it listed is because it comes on earlier in the day as opposed to around primetime evening, even though it comes on either right before or an hour before Shining Romance.

I didn't see the MBC weekend drama, A Little Love Never Hurts listed either, even though in Korea it's MBC's family weekend drama (equivalent to KBS' Wang's Family). Likely because the hours for it on the weekend on MBCD are odd. It comes on around noon/afternoon and reruns in the very early morning hours.

Anyways, for anyone interested, starting 3/25/14 on ICN 44.8 (2 epis/night from 10pm-12am), they'll be airing the drama Master Lin in Seoul (cooking drama!) that stars Jang Seo Hee as the female lead. The drama is in Mandarin, since it's a Chinese Mainland drama. Seems like she's been focusing her career in China; her last drama for Korea was back in 2010 (OB/GYN Doctors).

Re: K-Drama On Air Schedule in SoCal (Updated Mar 18, 2014)

Hi Everyone,

Apologies, Peg, I wasn't ignoring your question. Unfortunately I have had no internet connectivity for the last several days and now is the first I've been able to be back on-line.

In the past, all the K-dramas became overwhelming for me, especially with MBC airing them practically around the clock. That was when SuperRookie stepped in and took up the load of MBC and some other dramas. Now that he is no longer here, I am unable to keep up with everything that he posted and took care of. Basically, I was able to cover most of the prime time KBS and SBS offerings, leaving MBC (and KBS World schedules) to him. Creidesca is correct that I am primarily limiting my attention to the Prime Time dramas only, though I do put in other random K-dramas now and then.

Having worked in the K-forum for nearly 10 years, my abilities have declined of late and I am unable to take care of all that is out there. I'm doing my best, though I realize my best is not very acceptable these days.

The drama Son Baek Daughter of the King really is a good historical. I'm enjoying watching it myself, though I do not know which episodes are currently being aired this week. If people wish to have a topic for it and participate in discussing it, I will be more than happy to create the thread.

Re: K-Drama On Air Schedule in SoCal (Updated April 29, 2014)

The following question was asked in the "Golden Cross" (KBS) thread: class blockquote Sherlee wrote:

This week, according to the guide on tv—there is a different drama this week, after this one [Golden Cross] started just last week. It's so confusing with KBS recently—the titles & schedules are not matching with actual programming .
Here's a copy of my response in the "Golden Cross" thread. class blockquote It's difficult to keep up with KBS these days. If there is an overall, big picture of what their schedule is in the near future, I haven't been able to find it. What I did find is that they are randomly showing very short dramas in their Prime Time hours—dramas with as few as 2-4 episodes.Edit: The KXLA weekly schedule that KBS America publishes shows the following for this week:

Mon-Tue: "Drama Special - Ordinary Love"
Wed-Thu: "Drama Special - The Best Time of My Life"

[The same website also has the schedule charts for TimeWarner Cox and DIRECTV.]

Since KBS America publishes only the current week's schedule, I don't know what will be shown next week. However, KBS America's website schedule is usually the same as what the TV schedule shows, and if you click on the TV schedule's "Additional Airings" link, you can see if the drama is only a couple episodes long, or if it looks like one of the longer dramas we are used to.

If anyone knows KBS' grand scheme, please let us know.

Re: The new drama on KXLA last night

Last night (4-30-14) KXLA started a new drama I'm not sure if I got the name correct since I couldn't make out the title of the show I believe it is called "The Brightest Memories of Life" and all can say is wow this show is just so touching, I know I'm going to be weeping thought the remaining episodes. Could someone tell me how many episodes its going to run and where else it might be available to re-watch it at!

I just checked the KBS channel at YouTube, and they have it there, first I have the title wrong the tile of the drama is "The Brightest Moment in Life" and I guess its only a two episode special.

Re: K-Drama On Air Schedule in SoCal (Updated April 29, 2014)

TomCat, KBS America on KXLA is using the title "The Best Time of My Life" for this one. (See my last post above.) From TitanTV, it looks like this drama is four episodes. It has a variety of names. So far I've come across "The Brightest Moment in Life," The Brightest Memories of My Life," and "That Kind of Love."

Edit: Here is the KBS World page on the "Drama Special" series.
