C-Drama: LA18 7pm <宫> "Palace" (3/1/2012-4/18/2012)
This 39-episode drama first aired in 2011. The story began in modern day China. The heiress to an antique store, Qing-Chuan, ran after a Qing Dynasty painting that got blown away by wind. She ran to the forest and in an instant fell through the passage of time and traveled to 1708. She ended up in the palace of Kang-Xi Emperor. She fell in love with the 4th prince who would eventually succeed Kang Xi as Yong-Zheng Emperor. But it would be the 8th Prince who would eventually marry Qing-Chuang.
The story would travel back and forth between modern day China and 18th Century China.
Sounds interesting.

merela, you should read up on the controversy of this drama, especially on the screenwriter/producer, Yu Zheng. Many feel he plagiarized from so many different works for this one drama. And just because his company couldn't obtain the rights to the original novel "Bu Bu Jing Xin", but another company did.

I have tried to keep up with this drama. It is fascinating but hard for me since I have no Mandarin. Reading the short synopsis has at least given me some idea of who is really who. Sometimes I can see clearly what is going on but then if I miss an episode they have done some changing around. I have yet to see any scenes or episodes in the modern time. I love the costumes, and the lady escorts for the important women are so pretty and thet look like flowers moving around. I wonder if she gets back to her own time eventually.

-----------
The english subbed episodes can be viewed on vikii channel.
Also, the drama is one of WITHS2's completed fansub projects, under the title: Jade Palace Lock Heart
And brad6, if you ever get a chance to read the novel from which Yu Zheng attempted to get copyright permission to (english fan translations are in the works, I know up to Chapter 8 has been translated here), modern time likely only took place in the 1st episode. The rest of the drama takes place in the reign of Kangxi and the son who took the crown. The lead girl dies in that time period, never to return to her time. I don't think that is how it happens in this "Palace". However, if you watch "Bu Bu Jing Xin"/"Startling By Each Step", which is the drama that got permission from the author of the novel, the ending is slightly different.
Anyways, this is the spcnet.tv thread for "Palace"/Jade Palace Lock Heart.

"Husband and Wife Thing" replaces Palace.
