This is an adaptation of the wuxia novel Liuxing, Hudie, Jian (Meteor, Butterfly, Sword) by Gu Long.

If anyone happened to read my final comments on KBS drama's The Thorn Birds, I had made a brief reference to this drama "Liuxing Hudie, Jian" that I had watched right after The Thorn Birds, which then gave me some further insight into the The Thorn Birds.

Thanks for posting this, Creidesca. I wasn't familiar with the site that provides translations from Chinese. Very interesting.
Also, I had never heard the term "wuxia" before, having no knowledge of this genre. For others like me, here is the wikipedia link to Wuxia.

Anyways, back to what was shown in today's episode. So who impregnated Xiao Die? Was it Lu Xiang Chuan who secretly placed the aphrodisiac in Xiao Die's soup, or Ye Xiang, an assassin sent to kill Xiao Die's father, but ended up falling deeply in love with his target's daughter? After the incident that night, Xiao Die believes the father of her unborn child to be Lu Xiang Chuan; she doesn't recall Ye Xiang ever appearing.
Her father was going to marry her off to Lu Xiang Chuan, since Lu Xiang Chuan had been in love with Xiao Die since the two were young. Yet Lu Xiang Chuan declined the marriage offer. I don't know why he would do that, instead of resorting to force himself on Xiao Die. May be he is afraid of Sun Yu Bo, Xiao Die father's, even though Sun Yu Bo sees him as a son. But there must be something we don't know, because when Xiao Die reveals who the father of the child is, neither her father nor her brother believes her.
Only one other person knows what transpired that night--Han Tang, whom Sun Yu Bo had sent to watch over/protect his daughter. And it is because of Han Tang, that Ye Xiang loses his capability of being an assassin. Strangely, each man deeply respects the other.
