Edit, Delete and Quote Turned on for All Messages
I was reviewing a thread and discovered that the Edit and Delete links, which normally are active only for one's own messages are turned on for all message regardless of author. I did not try any of the links because I did not want to modify someone else's messages.
One is blocked from modifying others' messages but I thought that the Edit and Delete were not available indefinitely even for one's own messages.

There is a "Delete" link, but it is not visible or accessible to the general membership. Only Admins and Mods have access to deleting posts. The "edit" feature allows individual members to delete part or all of the contents of their post, but not the post itself.

Yes, like Nchristi mentioned, though you are able to use the “Edit” option to remove or alter the contents of your post, the feature doesn't remove the actual post. The “delete” feature (that only Admins and Mods have access to) can actually delete an entire post.
Also, though the "Edit" feature allows you to alter your own posts, you won't be able to use the feature for the posts of other members.

Re: Edit, Delete and Quote Turned on for All Messages
The Delete trashcan shows for all messages when it should not show for any according to the reply above. The forum's response when you click on the trashcan is the same for ones own messages as well as for those of others. An " OK?" box pops up. I did not try the next step by clicking on "OK."

Efparri, let's try this. I've just posted a "test post" in the Test Posts topic. Try clicking on the "Delete" trashcan underneath that test post I made, and then proceed to click "OK" when the box pops up. That way we can verify what happens.

Re: Edit, Delete and Quote Turned on for All Messages
The OK appeared. When I clicked OK, the next page warned that only a moderator could perform those actions or something similar. But according to the reply above, I should not even be able to see the trashcan for any messages. The "Edit" should be hidden for messages except my own. Sometime the links are in English and sometime in either Chinese or Japanese characters. I just saw the links on this message vary between English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters.

Re: Edit, Delete and Quote Turned on for All Messages
There seems to be a glitch of some sort going on here. The "trashcan" icon/link should be visible to only the admins and mods. Even though the "trashcan" is visible to all, you mentioned, Efparri, that you were blocked with a message that the post deletion feature could be used only by Admins and Mods, correct?
Runboard has made a number of changes and some of our special features no longer work the way they were originally created on CJKDramas.com. That's just the way it is going to be for the present.
The Edit and Quote links were specially created by one of our admins to rotate between several languages. The rotation is how it is supposed to work.

Re: Edit, Delete and Quote Turned on for All Messages
Efparri, even though the "trashcan" icon is visible to all members, only the Admins and Mods are able to access the post deletion feature. If someone else were to click on the "trashcan", they would also be unable to proceed further than the "OK" screen and would see the same message you did—about the feature being available to only Admins and Mods.
