TW-Drama: KSCI/LA18 7pm《下一站, 幸福》Autumn's Concerto (7/14/2010 - 8/30/2010)

I like the Chinese title better than the English title. The Chinese title translates into "Next Stop, Happiness". The first episode is called "1st Stop", the second episode is called "2nd Stop", so on and so forth.

This is one of the few Taiwanese idol television dramas that starred Van Ness Wu [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vanness_Wu]. He was one of the F4 member in the Meteor Garden. His acting and Chinese enunciation have not improved over the years, but for some reason, his fans still like him. I can't sit through a scene with him in it because he sounds like he's reading his lines. I would think that if he is serious about being an actor, he should hire private tutors to make his Chinese sounds better. It's just odd that his Chinese has not improved much in the last 9 years.

For those of you who likes Taiwanese Idol Dramas, this one was well-received in Taiwan and China. It made Van Ness Wu a leading man in a melodrama.

merela,
Yes I wondered myself why Van Ness did not move into a more fluent Chinese. I don't speak it myself, and I think Mandarin would be difficult to learn by an English speaker. However Van Ness has Chinese parents so I would think they would speak the language. He went to Taiwan several years ago and lives there so I wonder why he has difficulty.
I think he works very hard and everyone seems to like him.

This is a drama I generally watch, but don't have the faintest idea what the heck is going on. But it doesn't matter... there's something about the music and visuals that appeal to me.

Vanness Wu and Jet Li are my two favorite Chinese celebs, though Vanness Wu is essentially a SoCal guy, while Jet Li is from Beijing. Since I know next to nothing about the Chinese languages, I only know what sounds pleasant to me and I particularly like to watch and listen to Vanness when he talks. He has a great smile and interesting lines and angles to his face—very attractive overall appearance. He's a naturally good dancer, too, though it seems to get lost often in routines designed to showcase 'beefcake.'

The leading actress in this one is interesting, as is the second guy in the triangle. I don't know any of their names, however.

I've been wondering about the actress who plays Vanness's mother (I presume she's the 'evil MIL'?) in this drama. She resembles him a lot, but maybe it's just the similar hair style and ears. If this drama had e-subs I would be glued to it, I suspect. LOL!

I watch this drama also but fail to 'get' the real plot. Van Ness is charming and does have a very interesting face. I used to enjoy him when he was in the F4 group.

I often watch the Chinese dramas and really enjoy the historical ones or at least the ones that are in costume of the past. It is obvious sometimes when there are two male members who must be present day comedians. The leading ladies are always pretty and graceful. I wish I could have them with English subs.

I watched this drama with esubs somewhere else. I totally enjoyed watching Vaness in this one. You can see his acting growth from Meteor Garden days. Very much improved, but must admit the son totally is a cutie in this one.

With e-subs? Yay! Can you post the link, or send it to me, or point me in the right direction, Zashibear? emoticon

Interesting enough, the biggest star that came out of this drama was the little boy. He is now commanding huge salaries for product endorsements and other dramatic or public appearances.

Watching this one on a slow drip since Dramafever is only feeding me about one episode a week. I do love this drama. The little boy is adorable.
