Yep, if the videos are .rar files, the directions for viewing one file at a time that are in the article I posted above would probably work. The author recommended the VLC Player which you already have, so that's even better.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Hiroshi66)Sun, 17 Jan 2010 22:47:30 +0000 Re: Playing a download which has to be joined...or not as the case may behttps://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2039219,from=rss#post2039219https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2039219,from=rss#post2039219 Yes I got messed up with .rar file once before. If so, these files are known as "RAR files" where you would need to download all 16 files before being able to watch them. I found this helpful page with information and instructions on playing RAR files. How To Play RAR Files In most cases, you would have to finish downloading and 'extracting' (using the WinRAR program) all the files before you can begin watching, but there is a special way to watch each file one at a time, individually, until the others finish downloading. class blockquote From the above article: Special Case : Partial Downloads Sometimes a video file is split among many smaller RAR files. If you have all the parts you can play it as described above, but what if some files are missing or "broken"? You can still play at least part of the video. To preview the video, follow these steps :    1. Locate the first of the .rar files. Depending on the version of WinRAR used to create them, the first file will either have "part1" in it's name, or it will be the only file with the ".rar" extension (other files will have extensions like ".r01", ".r02" and so on).    2. Right-click the file and choose "Extract Files...". A dialog box will appear.    3. Tick the checkbox that says "Keep broken files" (it's in the lower left corner).    4. Click OK and wait while the files are decompressed. Eventually an error message will come up, click Cancel.    5. Now you have a video file that you can play in any video player that can handle broken files. Windows Media Player isn't always able to do this - I personally recommend the free VLC media player for this task. You can download it from http://www.videolan.org Using WinRAR, you can watch the files one at a time until everything has finished downloading. Then, you'll be able to watch the entire SMAP program. Watching RAR files can be a little confusing, since the entire 'extraction' process is involved, too. But hopefully this method will work. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Hiroshi66)Sun, 17 Jan 2010 16:53:00 +0000 Playing a download which has to be joined...or not as the case may behttps://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2039202,from=rss#post2039202https://bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/p2039202,from=rss#post2039202I was holding my breath for the three hour SMAP show. It was finally uploaded on Mediafire which I have often used. It is a long file and is divided into 16 episodes which have to be joined after download. Well I d.l 1 and 2 and decided to do the rest today. Just for an appetiser I decided to watch the first episode. It won't play. I have done this before and the first download will always play, but none of the others, until all are joined. Now this has happened before. with just the download of a single file. I cannot play the video or clip on any programme I have. I suppose it is all a matter of codecs but I have a few which have always been enough. Now does this happen to anyone else and what did you do about it. I would appreciate any ideas. thank you so much. Peggynondisclosed_email@example.com (brad6)Sun, 17 Jan 2010 15:51:42 +0000
