They could have at least let me see a baby!!!

Favorite scene was when Shinae came out and saw the picture that Juho drew of her. Then she looked over and they just looked at each other. So sweet. It sort of let you know that these two could find a way to be together some day...

Ok, we've been without k dramas for a week, our station has "techincal difficulties". Isn't anyone going to tell me what happened? ;D

I'm surprised the fast forward was only 6 months. I was hoping for 2-3 yrs as is the norm.

But I understand the significance of only doing 6 months to finish the drama on the day Jisu's dad died, aka birthday of Jisu's bio mom, aka day that Jisu first met Hiro.

I actually tuned in for the last 20 minutes or so...just to see how it would end. Have to say that I don't regret missing the last 20+ episodes emoticon

The only K-drama I can remember that I stopped watching, after staying with it for a long time. I really was hoping it would be better but it's now time to move on and hope the next one is MUCH better!!

Let's see if I can resurrect my memories from last night! LOL! The first thing I noticed is that they played the generic "and they lived happily ever after" background music that seems to always be in the final episodes (or a very close facsimile).

In no particular order.... class ul The Yu family around the dinner table, everyone happy and congratulating Suin and Hyeonsu for both the program award and the new baby that will be born into their family.

Jisu's actual birth date and her father's death are on the same day, though the Yu family has always celebrated her birthday on a different day. The family gets ready for the memorial; Jisu is in her room holding a photo of her bio-father, thinking about him.

Each year, S-Mom privately attends her own memorial for her deceased husband—at a temple where there is a memory tablet for him (don't know the name of these name plates). This year she goes to his grave, instead. As she is there, Jisu approaches with flowers for her father—her first time doing so. They embrace and it is the first time Jisu calls S-Mom "mother." S-mom cries.

At home, S-mom tells Mr. Han what happened at the gravesite and that this is the last time she will be celebrating her ex-husband's death. She is now at peace and thinks he is, too, so she's 'letting him go.' Mr. Han is sweet and comforting.

Six months later...

Jisu and Hiro in a parking lot between cars, talking about his parents flying in from Japan. She asks how long they will be in Seoul. Three-four days. He also wants to bring them to meet Jisu's parents. She is taken aback by this. Hiro nonchalantly says it is only natural for all the parents to meet since they will be getting married. Jisu frowns. Is this a proposal? In a parking lot? Without any formality or special effects? Is this all there is?! She is disappointed. He looks down at her shoe and indicates something needs to be cleaned off of it. She hands him a handkerchief, hunkers down to clean it herself. He takes her hand and places something in her palm. It is an engagement ring and he sweetly proposes then kisses her on the lips.

Shinae at home alone. As she leaves for school and exits the family gate, she sees a medium-sized poster board that says something like "Only 300 days (and counting) to go before college!" She looks around and sees Juho standing at the corner by his scooter. He smiles at her, gives her a thumbs up. They both know they are about to embark on their own relationship at college, away from parents. They exchange sweet, knowing smiles, he gets on his scooter and leaves.

That's all I can remember. This is the edited version, so anyone who watched the unedited version might want to fill in what we missed here.
Okay, so now it's over. I enjoyed this drama. I never got really bored by it. And like life, it just sort of had its day and is gone. Reminds me of a really old pet that lies down and falls asleep, never again to awaken. It was time for it to be over. Plain and simple.

One other thing about tonight. With the death yesterday of a very notable former President of So. Korea, don't be surprised if tonight's dramas are in some way pre-empted by coverage of this. That was what happened after the other former President's death a couple months ago.

There was one more segment that nchristi didn't mention above. It's one of the fast forward scenes 6 months later.

Miryeong is taking classes to study Japanese cuisine and it's her hope that in addition to her Korean cuisine training, she can create a "fusion" cuisine and open her own restaurant. Minsu is fully supportive of Miryeong's studies.

For those that saw the previous two episodes, I noticed that the cameras focused on Miryeong's facial expressions whenever a Yu family member spoke about Suin being an Alpha woman because of Suin's many accomplishments (cooking, story writing, awards, et al). It looked like Miryeong felt a little envious/jealous of Suin.

So this segment with Miryeong expressing her hope to open a restaurant of her own was probably her way of trying to show the family she can excel in something other than just homemaking.

Both Miryeong and Auntie could only benefit themselves amd families by getting jobs and thus being LESS involved in the daily lives of their relatives. Finally on to the new drama!!
