Re: K-Drama: (Here Comes Ajumma)

We, in the West, are indeed so very fortunate that we are able to partake of these outstanding and entertaining programs, but there are times times (such as these) when I find myself wishing that I had the temperment and the opporunity to give a good slap across the face to whomever is that makes these ridiculous decisions about what gets cut and what is completely butchered by the stations that run our shows. emoticon emoticon emoticon A show popular enough and as well received as our Ajumma deserves a much better fate than this!!! emoticon

Thankfully, most of us have other options such as AZN, KBS World, or (in my case) the wonderful, benevolent souls at Veoh. emoticon

I tried to follow the telecast of Cruel Love and had to stop when the safety of my television came into question. emoticon

My thanks to all of you who deem it neccessary to fill in the blanks while suffering along with the rest of us. The good thing is that so many of these episodes are worth repeat viewings and I'll find a way to review that which has been robbed.

I only hope that the drama that follows will be worthy of the sacrifice.

Re: K-Drama: (Here Comes Ajumma)

20 minutes! that's all we got! but the episode was good! Uchan and Unfriend being friends again; Unfriend and Julia and Chan has become a family (they're going to Unfriend's dad so they're family now, right?); OC forgiving Unfriend; Uchan ok'd OC and Aunt; most of all, J-wang calling Uchan for help.

On tomorrow's episode, they are probably not going to let us see a dying J-wang; they might just fast-forward it to future lives for everyone. I remember posting one time that there was a scene on youtube regarding Ajumma where Uchan was carrying a baby - just couldn't recognize the woman behind him.

KBS could have used the extra 10 minutes to give us more scenes. This is such a drama - too bad they take so much scenes out.

BTW, it's good tomorrow is the end; Dogyeong is just too much! Not all directors act the way she does! Always screaming!

Re: K-Drama: (Here Comes Ajumma)

All I can say is DITTO!! So darn frustrating to have this done to us viewers. We invest so many months into a program and it seems the the powers that be have absolutely no consideration for us.

Well, last nite WAS a great episode. I was almost glad that Unfriend is back in the family. Even though he told Uchan that him, Julia and Chan were going to live with his father, it also seemed that he accepted the offer from OC (who told Unfriend he was not accepting his resignation) to stay with the company.... to help Uchan of course. I dont like how OC is still just using Unfriend as a playmate for Uchan.

And what will they do? Unfriend, Julia and Chan will live in town and run into Onim and Uchan all the time. Will Julia accept Unfriend as her partner in life? Will Julia get over her hatred of Onim. Will she get over her love for Uchan?

It broke my heart when Uchan got that call from Jwang. But it showed how much Uchan cares and understands what this family means to Onim. Uchan and Onim have the same moral fiber and Uchan isn't just helping Jwang for Onim. Uchan is just a very warm caring person.

When Jwang told Uchan he was glad that Uchan would be Sarang's father I just lost it.

Now, Onim receives a call (what the heck is she doing with a cell phone as she's about to go on the air?) from Sarang crying that her daddy is sick. Is Onim going to leave the show? I assume so but boy oh boy, what timing!!

Jwang still insists that it was Yuran that he saw. He has the hanky that she gave him. I hope they explain all that. Maybe it'll show him with Yuran after he dies. After all, Yuran was the woman that Jwang loved. I remember how Yuran tortured him and he took anything she dished out because he loved her so much.

Is tonight really the end?

Re: K-Drama: (Here Comes Ajumma)

I'm very happy the way this is turning out. In some ways I'm glad it skipped directly to everybody being reconciled and happy with one another. I can go back and catch up on the lost episodes without having to go through a lot of grief.

As for OC, I think he's learned some life lessons, too. I was watching epis 147-148 the last couple days and there was a scene between Uchan and Junseok where they both told their feelings about the other. (If we saw it, it was still a good review for me.) Both of them loved and resented the other. Junseok genuinely loved Uchan as they grew up together, crying for him when his brother died and standing up for him when school kids made fun of Uchan not having a mother. We know Junseok's feelings of resentment, but Uchan said he was always jealous of Junseok, too, because he was so talented and capable—Uchan felt OC liked Junseok more than his own son. I just knew in my heart of hearts that Junseok and Uchan would remain friends.

Back to OC, would he have raised Junseok in his own home all those years if he didn't genuinely care for him? Or not only forgive but essentially reward Junseok by keeping him in a prominent position in the company after all the Julia/Chan business? OC is a very non-demonstrative man. Still, I think he loves Junseok almost as a second son and is looking out for both of them. While it is true that Uchan probably could not run TJ Media, OC could easily get rid of Junseok and find another exec to take his place if he wanted.

Ah, J-wang... He's so frightened. I'm glad Onim is there to comfort him. But since she's doing her show, I hope someone is with him if this is his time. I wonder if this is it now that they've taken him to the hospital. Everyone needs at least someone to hold their hand and try to comfort them through the death experience.

Looks like HwangBo has found his solution to life. Keep both women! After all, he's really looking for a combination of the two of them, it seems. O-mom can be alluring and physically attractive while she keeps rejecting him and giving him tongue lashings, and MIL can be affectionate, happy, fun, sweet, and warm. What more could a man want?!

Re: K-Drama: (Here Comes Ajumma)

Not sure what episode I saw at home today (hard to get there right on time) but I did get an answer as to why Hwangbo and MIL are now together.

MIL and Hwangbo are at the shop looking at the new stuff Onim got from the sponsors. Hwangbo askes what he can do to make Omom feel better since she is upset. MIL starts in about how Omom is so mean and blah blah blah. She then tells Hwangbo she doesn't want to help him with their relationship anymore, doesn't want to be involved.

In walks Omom. She tells Hwangbo she wants to talk to him alone. Her and MIL exchange a couple words. MIL goes outside so they can talk. Hwangbo is calling after her.... "Suha...Suha!!..." Omom tells him that she loves him but not enough. SHe said she's had enough of men and she doesn't want to be with him anymore. She then tells him MIL is silly and immature but that she would be so much better for Hwangbo. Then she walks out of the shop and has a couple more words with MIL then walks away. MIL goes back inside.

Omom turns from the shop and then says, "Budda, I gave him up so please help Onim to be happy"... Seems like Omom gave Hwangbo up in a bargain she made with Budda. She said, "Please make my daughter be happy now"...

Onim goes to the station and she takes Sarang with her. They run into Uchan who had just had it out with both Julia (she came to give him the rings back and he told her to leave and never come back) Uchan then went in and confronted Unfriend about the small share holders siding with that Mr Yu. But when Uchan sees Sarang and Onim he is all smiles and he chats with Sarang.

Onim goes to her meeting and Uchan sits in his office, playing and drawing pictures with Sarang. When Onim comes in Sarang teases Uchan by telling Onim he can't draw and they all laugh.... Meanwhile, Jwang is in the hospital and is dreaming that he goes to the park and sees Onim and Sarang playing. He runs to them happily. Sarang turns and yells, "Daddy!" She then runs right past Jwang and into Uchan's arms and gives him a kiss. Jwang awakes and runs to the hospital and that's when he sees Uchan, Onim and Sarang going off to have lunch.

Re: K-Drama: (Here Comes Ajumma)

you were right, nsheldon! they gave us 10 seconds of a happy Onim and Uchan.

good to see a new happy family - Junseok, Julia and Chan - and Julia is even on the way! hahaha!! The only happy couple we didn't see are OC and aunt - they must have had a nice scene too but it must have been deleted.

A very touching scene was when J-wang held Uchan's hand as he was dying; and the vid he left for Sarang and Onim.

They could have shown a blurry Yuran trying to fetch J-wang; that could have been nicer. They probably couldn't find the actress anymore.

Real nice drama - too bad it had to end - and too bad they deleted so many scenes.

I had a nice time discussing this drama with all you guys!! It was fun and as entertaining as the drama itself!!

Re: K-Drama: (Here Comes Ajumma)

Viyra: I enjoyed discussing this one also. This is one I enjoyed from beginning to end. Never a dull episode..

I was so content with the ending. I think because everyone pulled together. Jwang knew that he was leaving his family with someone wonderful. He knew his daughter would have a good father and that Onim would have a happy future.

MIL married Hwangbo and it seems her and Omom became close friends. Hwangbo has a large family now. Everyone was secure and happy.

Apparently, Onim and Uchan waited a year. I suppose, after everything they both had been through, they needed that time. I guess waiting a year was respecting Jwang also.

It seemed that Uchan was just arriving back in Seoul and that Aunt and OC were no longer in Korea. Since he was calling Aunt, "Mom", I think OC and Aunt probably married.

Of course, the biggest surprise to me was how happy Julia and Unfriend were. And she is pregnant again. That's great! Let's see, Chan was about how old? And it's a year later and Julia teased Unfriend about thinking Chan said 'dad'???? That boy is a bit slow isn't he? LOL

Oh, one more thing was what a wonderful job Sarang did in last nite's episode. She had me crying too.

This was a great drama. I think the replacement is Innocent Woman??? Do we know for sure? I saw that mentioned...

Onim and Uchan must have made a promise to see each other after one at the beach where they had good memories. That was a nice ending. Uchan's face was glowing with happiness.

What a trouper Onim was - continued on with her first broadcast while J-wang is in the hospital waiting for his last breath. I think if Onim was still married to J-wang, she would not go on with the show. It just shows her life with J-wang is finished and she was only there for their daughter. It was also nice for the writers to show the good sides of each of the characters on this episode. MIL who didn't really like Uchan had to thank him for taking J-wang to the hospital and to go to Onim at the broadcast station; she even told Onim to go on with her first broadcast and they will be taking care of J-wang in the meantime. My first guess when J-wang had that attack was that the whole family will call Onim and tell her to come because J-wang might be dying. But everyone, including J-wang were more concerned on Onim's first show. MIL didn't even like it when Sarang called her mom.

What a beautiful ending. Onim is a natural beauty. This actress don't need make-up to make her beautiful. Another actress like her is Han Ji-min of Yi-San and Capital Scandal.

Re: K-Drama: (Here Comes Ajumma)

One thing it may have edited out was .... Was that Yuran?.... I'm still watching it in the afternoons so if I see anything I will post it here. I was kinda hoping it would show Jwang leaving this world with Yuran.

MIL also went to see Uchan but he was out of the country at that time. So MIL wanted Onim to be with Uchan also. I think she wanted it because Jwang wanted it.

That place where Onim and Uchan met was when they had ran away for that one night. Remember they bought matching tee-shirts and SPENT THE NIGHT TOGETHER..... Uchan awoke in the morning and Onim had left. But there is no doubt in my mind... emoticon

I think one of the best things about this ending is that MIL is still 'mother' to Onim. MIL is still friends with Omom. MIL is still very much connected with this family.

One of the best endings I've ever seen and I am 100% satisfied!!

Re: K-Drama: (Here Comes Ajumma)

I love how this show ended. Jwang dying made me cry, at least his character had redemption in the end. I never thought that I would even have an ounce of sympathy for him but it was nice on how he realized the things he took for granted, life and how he treated those that loved him best. I specially like that he in the end trusted Uchan to take care of Onim and Sarang.

The surprise of the ending was Ufriend and Julia making up a family unit and being happy together. And nice that Uchan and Ufriend are still very much connected like brothers even if they are not really connected by blood.

So we got a short shot of finally Onim and Uchan happy at last. But still better than the writer leaving it our imagination to think of the ending. Agree with most. I like this show it was so worth it to watch. From the start to finish , the characters and story never got complacent. A lot of lessons to be learned from this one. On being confident, kind, humble and good wins out in the end. The most important thing even when in the face of tragedy, sickness and even death. Love and family will always be there for you. Bye Ajumma...you were a gem of drama. Thanks !
