You guys can have the young ones. In fact, I don't recognize any of the younger group. I've enjoyed Kim Ja ok in so many of these--she was a horrific mother-in-law in More Than Words Can Say. She aborted her DIL's baby, although she regretted it later. To be slightly fair to that character, the doctors gave her a choice, mother or child, after a car accident, but of course the complication was that the child might have been the DIL's first husband's. Love these plots. I learned so much about conservative korean society in that drama--still one of my all-time favorites because you either loved or hated several of the characters. I was so surprised at my reaction to some of the episodes. I forced myself to NOT watch a couple of episodes, because I was so upset! Can you believe that???!!!! I couldn't then, and can't believe it now.

I want the fellow who was in Seoul 1945 (perhaps that's too direct! LOL). So attractive there and here. Forget his last name--Yo sup ssi.

Hope Peggy did well today.

My very first Korean drama was Yellow Handkerchief, and as I recall Han Bong Ryeo was in that one, or am I imagining that? Does anyone know for sure?

I've found every character I've ever seen Han Bong Ryeo play to be so believable. She is a great actress. The first two days of this new drama haven't caught my interest yet, but her already mysterious character alone to me is worth tuning in for a while, and hopefully I will become involved enough with the rest of these families to stay with this new drama to the end.

Well, I like this show already. The groom is just too good-looking. Some people may like the actor (Yeon in Chil Princess) who plays the groom's younger brother, but can anyone be handsome-er than the groom?!

I saw his list of TV credits, but the only drama I've seen from that long list of work was Match Made In Heaven. However, I don't remember what role he played in that drama. I'm surprised I didn't notice him in Match Made In Heaven because I don't remember any handsome guy like that in that drama.

I hope the plot is watch-able. But all the familiar faces are reminding me of past shows (Winter Sonata, Aja Geum Soon, Terms of Endearment, Goodbye Solo, Farewell Sadness, so many others....)

Did anyone notice that the Yoon parents (the rich family) are sleeping in separate rooms (in the 1st episode) and why would the mom looked uncomfortable (and surprised) when her husband walked into her room while she's changing?!

Well, to each her own. I don't see anything at all handsome or appealing about the groom guy, but different taste is what makes the world go round, isn't it?

As for the "Yeon" actor, it is the personality he brings to his characters that ropes me in. Although, I must say one of the highlights of tonight's episode was watching him eat that bag of snacks when he was sitting outside with his older co-worker. I never saw a man look as cute as he did when he was chewing those snacks. And watching somebody with food in their mouth usually isn't something I like to focus on. He just was so cute the way he ate.

So far, the only character/actor who is really capturing my attention is the anonymous grandmother with the permed hair. She creates depth to her character and is rather intriguing. I know I'll get into this drama as I get a few more episodes under my belt, but right now all the other characters simply feel like recycles of the standard K-drama fare.

This drama does have a really good support cast, though. Lots of very talented veteran actors. I'm looking forward to the story developing.

           AMAHAE/HATS,WATE??!!

This show sounds much too complicated for me. I read the extensive introductory material, and I'm sure I'll refer to it often and appreciate it, if I get hooked on this drama too. It starts on Monday in my area, and I'll probably take a look just to fill the great big void in my life without PIH.

The groom as Captain Kang in "SWEET SPY" and was excellent, and even though he was the heroin the show, he didn't get the girl in the end. As far as I am concerned, he is good looking and interesting where as his younger brother does not appeal to me as he is basically a variation of his last character.

The older women have been in many shows and have played many different types of characters.

It seems also that the female character actors last a long time, but this does not seem to be the case with the young female actresses many of whom disappear after a few major roles. There seems to be an endless supply of young women actresses.

Hello Family emoticon

Here we go again!! A whole new drama to watch. emoticon

We on the east coast get the first episode on Monday. I'm looking forward to it. A new list of characters to love and hate. All new people to root for. I can't wait. emoticon

I was glad to see PIH end. I watched it on tape and fast forwarded to scenes of Gukhwa and Yunhu and the Parks. The rest of it left me cold. And, I mainly watched it for Yunhu's dimples.

That's what this thread is for, opinions. We are not all required to like or dislike the same things and we are allowed to state our opinions, as long as they're not offensive to another poster. We shouldn't be made to feel badly for it. Opinions are like eyebrows, everybody has them. Or almost everybody.

I'm thrilled to be able to watch a new Kdrama. The cast, as it is listed, looks interesting. I have high hopes for this one.

I'll be back on Monday to post my opinions. emoticon

Later emoticon
