Initial impressions:
It's nice to see Konoha's grandpa in another role.
Japanese historical dramas always seem to be packed with a confusing number of characters.  I think I got it mostly straight after going back and rewatching parts of it.

I didn't get to see all of the show but since I taped it, I'll watch it all later.
But I'm so glad that you confirmed for me that it was Konoha's grandpa. I also saw Seiko-san (from Honmamon) on the show, too.

funny reading that because that's exactly what did me in. i tried to hang with this, but after thirty minutes i was so lost i just couldn't stay interested - and it was because i couldn't keep track of who was who (whom?).

Also the lead's brother is Minnie mouses husband teacher... it's like a Honmomon reunion... I wonder if Konoha will show up as the head cook.

Actors in both include the following:
• 佐藤慶 Konoha's grandfather, Bekki
