posticon King Flower Fairy (Flower Fairy Lotus)

Yesterday I recd my long-awaited OST of subject drama. I was extremely disappointed with the fact that one of the major songs played throughout this drama (sung by female singer [totally in English lyrics]) was NOT included on OST. Oh, woe is me. The song is beautifully sung by ? and is entitled When A Child Is Born. I never bothered to record this because it's the old "assume" thing -- took for granted it would be on the OST. Wrong! Although there is a beautiful strings version -- I am still majorly disappointed in the producers of this OST. They subbed another song in it's place; a song I have never heard on the drama. How could they? Since the lyrics for this song have been given on a Japanese website, perhaps now I shall have to go to them to find out just WHO the songstress is and where I can purchase. They could have at least warned people! (The pretty music on the track is not sufficient justification.

emoticon OMG !!! There truly is a God!

My search is over. This a.m. I turned on tv only to hear Andrea Bocelli singing the truly beautiful, emotion-stirring

           When a Child is Born

It is on his new CD Andrea. He must have heard my prayers as he recorded this song.

And ... I am not the only person who becomes emotional about this one ... even Jane Pauley was in tears as she listened!

....King Flower Fairy producers, you really messed up on this one ... you could have had the most sensational selling movie OSt of all time ... all because of one song ... the core musical tale within the drama and about the drama !

Oh, well, off to purchase 'Andrea'.

Give us a review of his new CD. Is it good? (Could it not be?) I caught a glimpse of him this morning, too. Greying out and looking better than ever. Immensely talented and fascinating individual. He doesn't have the best voice (technically) but it is so captivating. (My favorite mental picture of him is of one of his first performances with Sarah Brightman, standing there in an Armani tux, in all his glory.)

I've always been impressed by the variety of his accomplishments, too, from being an attorney in Italy, to sky-diving, horseback riding--you name it, he does it--plus a devoted family man (last I heard).

And has his English ever improved! The last I heard him interviewed a year or so ago in Canada, he was struggling, but commenting on how diligently he had been studying the language. I was amazed at how clear and precise his enunciation while singing in English. (Too bad your favorite song wasn't sung in Italian rather than English. We'd have to scrape you up off the floor! emoticon Italian is a singer's language--nearly every word ends in a vowel. English is a nightmare--too many consonants, constricting the voice.)

Re: King Flower Fairy (Flower Fairy Lotus)

nchristi Bocelli's English was unbelievably improved and hard to believe entire song was performed in Engl. However, the actual recording on CD includes the beautiful, clear, sweet voices of the New London Childrens' Choir (about 1/2 into song thru end). Positively wonderful arrangement.

Lyrics follow for all King Flower Fairy fans:

           When A Child Is Born

A ray of hope flickers in the sky
A tiny star lights up way up high
All across the land dawns a brand new morn
This comes to pass, when a child is born

A silent wish sails the seven seas
The winds of change whisper in the trees
And the walls of doubt crumble tossed and torn
This comes to pass, when a child is born

A rosy hew settles all around
You start to feel you’re on solid ground
For a spell or two no one seems forlorn
This comes to pass, when a child is born

It’s all a dream, an illusion now
It must come true, sometime soon somehow
All across the land, dawns a brand new morn
This comes to pass, when a child is born.

(Lyrics from Andrea CD by Andrea Bocelli)

Performed by Andrea Bocelli, the New London Children’s Choir.

This song is composed/lyrics by Andrea? I had no idea. Sounds like him, though.
