Thanks again for posting all the great Obon videos, Ralph! emoticon

We're already in August, so looks like the Nisei Week festival is coming up, too!

I think that they may still need haneto dancers for the Nisei Week Parade. I just registered right now (it's $40 to register if you want the full costume, $10 if you want to wear a special t-shirt and $5 if you have the haneto costume from 2007). Here is the website with the information:http://www.nebuta-la.org/registrations/

Re: Events!

Sylia74, thanks for the info!

Speaking of Nisei Week, looks like this year's festivities will be held in Little Tokyo starting from Saturday, August 15th, through Sunday, August 23rd. I'll probably be able to go to some of the festivities on the weekend of August 22/23, but I'm not sure which day yet.

Thanks for the info, Vannessave! emoticon

I'll be going to the Little Tokyo Nisei Week this coming Sunday (8/16) instead of next Sunday, since I want to go to this Sunday's Grand Parade!

The Tanabata festival going to be this whole weekend so you can go to everything on Sunday if you want.

It would be great if you could come next Sunday 8/23 too. They're going to do the communal dance then. I might jump in for a few numbers myself.

Oh, I'm glad the Tanabata festival is going to be taking place for the whole weekend, not just tonight. I'll be able to check it out when I go this Sunday then. Thanks for the heads up, Sylia74! emoticon

Ahh, I wanted to also attend Nisei Week next Sunday (8/23) to see the dancing, but unfortunately I have to go somewhere else that day and won't be able to make it. :-(
