Yeah, they've all been nice and comedic lately. Then again, Shiawase no Shippo and Ryuuten no Ouhi weren't bad either.

I'm with you, TomCat. After too many serious (sometimes dark) programs, I find it spirit-dampening. I love it when they shake it up with some really fun, campy stuff. Shopping Hero is fresh. Even the lech is lovable!

UTB is usually airing the more dark, romance or sad dramas, such as Younger Man and Koibumi. Asahi/Magicbell has always aired more comedic shows, and continue to do so today (Hotman, Good Luck, Otousan, etc.). Ever since UTB started airing Trick 1, they seem to be loosening themselves on what dramas they air.

I missed the very beginning of the hour. Was there anything on before the title sequence? (Probably not.)

How nice of Mr. Teraoka making lovers of Yuka and Makoto, for his own sake. I love the way this series is using old french frace movies for its model. And the way they stage everything by just turning their backs to Mr. Teraoka's wife like that and plan their trickery, So she won't overhear them. How three stooges was that!!

ccwf~ I just rolled my tape back and if you saw the cast intro. you caught everything. The show begain in Makoto's office with Makoto's boss grousing about his daughter going out with the boy he disaproves off and Makoto talking with the guy at the next desk.

Re: J-Drama: ツーハンマン (Shopping Hero)

This has become my favorite show... and in only two episodes... a definite keeper for me... drat, I wish I had a dvd recorder to keep this one... that means I have to buy more outdated vcr tapes... oh well, I think I'll live.

I love the Satorare (thinking out loud dialogue) really cute... what more can you ask for, a good looking cast, a great hero you want to win in Jimmy... great self absorbed president in Mr. Teraoka (Amamiya-san), and it's all tied up in the world of the Home Shopping Network....

And the love triangle's all over the place... and Jimmy right in the middle... every salaryman's dream... Manga made in heaven... if this is an off shoot of a manga comic book, I could see why all ages get hooked on them.

Will Jimmy hook up with the cute make-up girl, Yuka, the wife, none of them, or all of them? You know he will be wanted by all the women as Shopping Hero.... but what will happen when they find out who Shopping Hero really is? And will he even take over for the President, and have it all?

And this even has heart... with Jimmy at the controls... it's no longer about selling a product, but also about being a good father to your kids...
which of course makes more people buy a product as silly as a cleaning sponge!

And what will mom think of Jimmy when she finds out he's the great Shopping Hero who is a drinking womanizer?

Can't wait until next weeks episode...of...

Shopping HERO !!!!!!!!

Well said, sumobobby. A great show. Funny and entertaining. Now Teraoka's wife is hitting on Jimmy, inevitably, Teraoka has made Yuka and Makoto (the name Jimmy gets on my nerves for some reason) girlfriend and boyfriend. A really fun series. I'm hooked. Now everybody knows that Makoto and Yuka are supposedly boyfriend and girlfriend.. confusing!

Teraoka entering the elevator: Let's have a date until the bottom floor. The lines this guy uses are so great. emoticon

Reminds me of one of my first-date dates, when I was twenty. I was wondering why the driver was taking a rather long route via a street with many curves (think Sunset Blvd from Bel Air to Pacific Palisades), when entering a major curve the car accelerated significantly. Across the wide leather bench seat comes sliding Mr. Right, pinning me against the inside of the car, arm strategically around my shoulders, his face inches from mine. With that classic Amamiya joie de vivre and twinkle in his eye, he softly uttered, Would you believe slippery pants? Speechless, I burst out laughing. The beginning of rose petals on my step, baby roses and lace for my hair... and a hundred other innocent delights a girl only dreams of.

Yep, cad or no, Teraoka makes me smile....

I love the casting people who do Japanese dramas. There are certain actors which have a certain limitation as to what roles they can and what roles they cannot play in. This actor seems to have caddy, comedic roles (such as Teraoka, Amamiya, etc.)
