Similarly, Haru e Natsu will be shown in lots of little chunks in Southern California and has already started showing in fewer, bigger chunks in Northern California.

Ryuuten no Ouhi had lots of commercials, because they had to make it run for five weeks.

Re: J-Drama: ハルとナツ (Haru to Natsu/Haru e Natsu)
This series reminds me of the dorama "Oshin". It starts at the present time then goes back 70 years and uses three actresses with flashbacks to show the difficult conditions the heroine goes through. Except there are two heroines. Also actress Pinko Izumi (love that name) is in both series--she had the role of Oshin's mother.

oh my, this drama is sooooo depressing and so sad and heartbreaking on first ep. although, I find that the 2 girls portray their childhood years so adorable. hope the ending of the series is good.

2 new Japanese dramas starting on the same week! Both seem like great fun to watch. Sunday nights are going to be very busy for the next 5 weeks!

Man is this year off to a great start.....what a hearttugging episode that was last night, so judgeing but last night we're in for a great year of dorama. Natsu sure has a don't forgive and forget view of her former family.

Also note that the old sister who owns the company was the priestess in Honma Mon. That was a very enjoyable role.

Haru to Natsu - Episode 1
Wonderful first episode. Seemed a bit short to me - but I don't know if it was just because I recorded. Great acting - I love the acting of the two little girls Haru and Natsu, and the sad scene where they were literally torn about on that sad afternoon on Kobe harbor..
Indenturned servitude was just horrible.. and that's exactly what was happening here. A promise of 3 years, a reality of many more. And I could see why Natsu would think she was abandoned - I mean wouldn't anybody in that case?
Yeah, the older Natsu is played by Nogiwa Yoko, who also played the role of Yamada Satomi (Naoko's mom) on Trick. Ironically, here she plays the older version of Natsu, who's played by Nakama Yukie (who played Naoko on Trick.) But she also was in Dragon Zakura (as the principal) and Honmamon, as the priestess.
Overall, pretty good first episode!
