J-drama: 恋文 (Koibumi/Love Letter)

Saw the trailer for the next show... some of the same actors as in First Love... one of my favorite dramas...

Well, cross-referencing, it looks like Watabe Atsuro and Wakui Emi are in both. I like Wakui Emi well enough. As for Watabe Atsuro, many people seem to like his acting, but I get annoyed by his muttering style, which makes him hard to understand.

Had to edit to include the English name, sorry.

As for Japanese, the kanji does originate from Chinese characters, but the don't mean or sound alike.

And this would be a case where a simple kanji, 文, doesn't mean the same thing and doesn't sound the same in Japanese and Chinese (although there is some relationship between the meanings and sounds). Despite the difference in meaning, in Chinese 恋文 is still used as the title of this J-drama.

I have to agree... Watabe Atsuro annoyed my whole family... my wife could not stand his hair... my daughter could not stand him, period... I could not understand why two women wanted to marry him... come on I'm better looking than that guy...

And Wakui Emi was kind of scary in that show... First Love... Like an older Asuza but more self destructive...
It will be interesting to see how they will be in this show... I noticed by the trailer that Watabe was more a blue collar worker and not a teacher...
I'm excited but a little bummed, I was hoping to see Churasan 2... oh well, next time.h

Yes, the 愛の神様 (if I recall her title correctly) was an interesting character, certainly much more so than Phoebe on Charmed, who ostensibly has the same job. emoticon

We've also seen Wakui Emi recently as the meek wife in Musashi.

Seems like this one is gonna be a sad drama.

Tune into the Fuji drama "Shiroi Kyoto" on Sunday nights -- all the main doctor and lawyer guys in that are better looking than Watabe Atsuro (at least IMO). But my main problem with him in "First Love" was that I didn't like his character's personality. In fact, I never finished that drama, cuz I didn't understand why those sisters would want to fight over such an irritating guy. Perhaps, I'll like this drama better. I'll give it a try.

Thanks for the info...
This guy is definitely type cast... someone you loved to hate... definitely another creative and interesting love story...
Where do they come up with these stories?
I guess that's why I watch... can't find anything like it anywhere else... love it.
I wonder if the Korean or Chinese programs are just as interesting?

Damn...

I was hoping Trick 3 or Churasan 2 would air after Younger Man, but I guess not. This drama doesn't look too appealing to me, but then again, neither did YM, and I loved it, so might as well give it a try.
