How many episodes are left of this series? Like 3 or 4?

Re: J-Drama: こちら本池上署第二シリーズ (Central Ikegami Police 2)

Tonight's episode is a repeat episode from 2 weeks ago. I think the TV station must have made a mistake airing this show.

I missed Sunday's episode, but if its from two weeks ago, I wonder if Magicbell will take note of this and re-air it next week (thus altering their entire schedule) or just proceed with the episode after this. Ratings aren't too high for this show (judging from the board) and since seeing one episode is not a prerequisite for seeing the next one, I don't think they'll make a big deal out of it (especially if UTB didn't when they skipped Episode 2 of Kokoro back in January).

Since this drama seems to highlight each member of the Ikegami Police, I wonder how many characters are left? I haven't been keeping very good track of the plots, since it is a rather lightweight series that appeals to me more as a diversion than anything else.

I never really liked this series, and I thought Season 2 would be better, but its still more of something I do out of boredom. I wish Magicbell would air something else and stop airing this series - but sadly there are two seasons left.

Well, I just watched it this afternoon. Basically, this episode featured Astrologer Girl (Shindo?), and her study of Chinese.
Which sometimes she pronounces OK and other times badly. The Mandarin spoken by the interpreter was also stiled, although less so.

Similarly, the Japanese spoken by the Chinese girl was a bit flat.

Re: J-Drama: こちら本池上署第二シリーズ (Central Ikegami Police 2)

Just watched last Saturday's episode of Ikegami. My favorite so far. I found myself holding back a lot of tears for that young mother and the situation with her socially prominent, uncaring parents. It was very touching to see how some of the officers took care of the girl and baby and how the employer understood and gave her an enormous hand-up out of the abyss.

In the end, when the cold-hearted father came to his senses and asked his daughter's forgiveness, it suddenly dawned on me that this whole series is not just some light-weight drivel, but is teaching life lessons in Mary Poppins mode. A teaspoon of sugar makes the medicine go down.

What we might not be able to see or accept about ourselves is shown to us in a positive, non-threatening manner, one which gently pulls back the veil to give us that peek that just might lead to recognition and change.

I love, too, the constant reminders that kind, caring actions towards other people go a long, long way.

P.S. Can anyone share a general description of the holiday they were celebrating? Does each household have those branches to which they tie their wishes? What do they do with it? Do they take it somewhere? Or is it simply in their home for a certain length of time?

Nchristii, as I missed the episode, I wouldn't be able to give a description of the holiday. If you could describe it though, I'd be more than happy to see if its something I've run across in my study of Japanese history and culture.

Is there going to be a series 3 thread otherwise I'll just start right here? I really don't know why this past episode was so touching to me, but it was.....are the episodes each named?

I'll start a series 3 topic. That way, I can link to it from the premieres list on the front page, too.
