Re: J-drama: Fire Boys
Though I almost never bother with non-subtitled dramas, I watched “Fire Boys” the whole way through – primarily because I really dig firefighting action.
While I found the firefighting a little too unrealistically Hollywoodish, I still did enjoy the show, even with my meager understanding of spoken Japanese. But, I did have a few questions, for those more knowledgeable about this than I . . .
1. Daigo obviously got transferred out of his home station - was it a promotion (to the Tokyo Rescue Squad) or was it just a transfer? I had the feeling that it was a promotion, but then why was he so shocked to find he’d have to leave his current assignment (what did he expect)?
2. What was Daigo’s relationship with Shima (sorry, I still call her Shima . . .). I saw them saying their farewells at the schoolhouse, but through the whole series I never really understood if they were boyfriend-girlfriend, or if there was some other relationship.
3. Did Daigo really risk his and his fellow firefighter’s lives just to rescue a bunch of sparrows? Sheesh . . .
Also, it was cute to see Daigo’s replacement show up at the very end – every bit as stiff and clumsy as Daigo was on his first day. Guess our Daigo’s a veteran firefighter now!

She was his high school teacher. But between her showing up all the time and pinkie shaking I'd had enough of her. If there was someone who should've gotten a little more Daigo, it's Jun Kondo. Every time Daigo was lying in a hospital bed she was there.

I think he went back because there hadn't been a sweep of the building since the commando guys got scared off by the explosions. The bird's-nest was to show he had chops. Didn't look edible but that's, uh, Three Minute Cooking.
There's supposed to be a good firefighting sim out now in Japan on the PS2. No smiling Jun Kondo in fuzzy sweaters though.

I didn't watch this drama and so have no idea what's really being discussed, but I'll point out that bird's nest soup is made from the excretions of a particular type of swallow.

Re: J-drama: Fire Boys
I only saw some parts of this drama, but it didn't really catch my interest such as Trick or Good Luck did. Maybe because of the subtitles, did anyone else find this?

Re: J-drama: Fire Boys
Thank you so much for posting up the the 1st and 2nd discs!
I saw them and the drama looks really good! Can you please post up the rest of the drama?? This drama was on t.v and i didn't know what it was and I've only saw a glimpse of it but now it has ended and never saw the whole thing; but you are so great to have posted up the first and 1st discs I'm just hoping I get a chance to see the rest . If you don't want to that's okay I totally understand...if you can tell me where I can get the rest of the episodes (Bittorents) I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you so much again!

I'm sure that a lot of the people who are members of this board that frequently use torrent and have skill at it would help you.

Re: J-drama: Fire Boys
Thank you Sandy.
By the way, remember the drama with the guy from Hotman and GTO, I don't want to bump that topic up, but when does it start?
