Re: TW drama: The Rose
Yeah I guess they don't show trailers during the show. Just the usual commercials - dental work, roofing companies, miracle drugs, etc.

Re: TW drama: The Rose
If you have the character available as text, then you can copy and paste it to do a look up for the Unicode code point. For Chinese characters, I use the UTF-8 character dictionary at http://www.mandarintools.com/ (select the show Unicode value option). For Japanese, I use Jim Breen's WWWJDIC server. If you have a large amount of text to convert to Unicode decimal or hex values, then use the konwert program, which can convert UTF-8 text (of any language) and many other encodings and convert the non-ASCII characters into decimal or hex Unicode code points.
If you only have an image of the text, then's it's much harder, of course. For Chinese, I have a handwriting recognition system. For Japanese, I sometimes use the Chinese handwriting recognition system and then look up the kanji via pinyin. Other times, I use the SKIP code. I only use the radical system if all else fails.

Re: TW drama: The Rose
I'll be putting up a screen cap of the title of the next noon drama series here...
Meanwhile, thanks a bunch for that link, ccwf! I honestly cannot believe I didn't know about it earlier... easily in my top 3 "learning Japanese" sites. It seems to cover absolutely anything and everything about any 漢字 I could ever come across. Thanks again.

but for those who missed it, I will personally make myself available to seed the 1st 1-2 epis (since my epis are only 45min as compared to the length that gets aired per day on KSCI) thru BT
