Chinese Drama or Taiwanese Drama?
Okay, I don't get something. Are the dramas that are aired in California on KSCI Channel 18 or on the International Channel from Mainland China or Island Taiwan?
Thanks.

These days, it's pretty hard to tell if a chinese drama is a TW or Chinese mainland production since some they can comprise of TW/HK/Chinese mainland artists. For the most part, KSCI airs the TW dramas.
I'm having difficulty of figuring out if Wu Yen Nu is a TW or Chinese mainland drama since it comprises of both Chinese mainland and TW actors/actresses...the same goes for Huan Zhu Ge Ge 3, since besides TW and Chinese mainland artists, the drama also stars a HK artist. Also most of the Chinese mainland dramas that get aired here in SoCal, have one time or another been aired on a TW station.
At least one thing is certain, the idol dramas are definitely TW =P

Re: Chinese Drama or Taiwanese Drama?
Thanks guys!
Yeah, it is very difficult, I just wanted to know because I know that communist nations don't really like modern entertainment like dramas or anime, but I know that North Korea is the prime example of this.
Oh well, they should list it in the credits if it was a Taiwanese or a Chinese (both Hong Kong and China) drama.

I don't think that I've ever seen KSCI air a chinese drama w/ simplified chinese subs before, especially since when Chinese mainland dramas are aired on TW stations they get resubbed w/ traditional chinese, and that is what we would see here in SoCal.

Yeah, and most of the 'chinese' dramas we see aren't even Chinese, they're actually South Korean and are dubbed or subtitled with Taiwanese or Chinese.

huh? what are you talking about? South Korean? The Chinese dramas airing on KSCI are definitely either TW or Chinese Mainland, that I'm positive, since I always check out the official homepages for these dramas.

Re: Chinese Drama or Taiwanese Drama?
sometimes the dubb and sub korean dramas with chinese. they did it twice i think. that one with a girl who gets lukemia, worked in a hotel. and that main guy from scent of summer was in it, who was totally in love with her. forgot what it was called.
actually i wasnt talking about using simplified or traditional. i'm not that smart.
heh. i was just saying what color font they use. and the style. but what do i know.
another way is i check end credits. they usually tell by the website or company.

but HanadaTattsu said "most", so far since I've been watching chinese dramas on TV, there's only been 4 instances where a Korean drama was dubbed into mandarin and w/ chinese subs: Propose, Endless Love, Snowflakes, Winter Sonata
