It's been an interesting first week. I'm still trying to nail all the names down (I can only recognize "XYZ", as she is referred to in the episode guide), but it's been very enjoyable so far. Seems she's my favorite character too. So crazy and adorable... aww... 
Perhaps I should take some screen caps and post the pics in this thread to get the names.
One more thing: They seem to cut the episodes up a bit differently. When reading the episode guide for episode 2, there was a bit of episode 3 at the end, too (I read about the starving people at the mountain a bit too early). Might have just been my fault, though.
Let's try to have an active thread here, folks... if you know anything about Chinese characters, you owe it to yourself to check out the Chinese subtitles! Gotta dig those craaazy super-old traditional characters, like "come".

It seems you are of the minority who favor Betty Huang Yi as XYZ...those who have seen parts I and II compare her to Vicki Zhao, and feel that Betty overacts. I can't say since I havn't touched a single episode yet.
However, I have to admit I like her acting. I'm currently watching this drama where she is the female lead, called "Miracle" and she is cast against Peter Ho. If you didn't know, Betty, Peter and Shui Ling were in the tv series version of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (which I believe was aired prior to 2002 here in SoCal). Betty portrayed the role Michelle Yeoh had, Shui Ling had Zhang Ziyi's role, and Peter had the role of the bandit that Zhang Ziyi was in love w/, Chow Yun Fat's role was taken over by the male lead of the drama Wu Yen Nu, which is currently airing at the noon timeslot on KSCI.

I like all the actors, but this Er Kang fellow (Zhao Jie) seems to be my new favorite. This guy just looks like he can kick all sorts of ass... and he does! 
And now I'm pretty sure the episodes we see are edited differently from the ones in the episode guide. I'm paying attention to the episode number in the show, too...
It was nice to finally see the full ending credits for the first time. Love that song.

a group online is subtitling the live-action drama Legend of the Condor Heroes (2003), based on the popular wuxia novel of the same name written by famous author Jin Yong, which stars Zhao Jie (of course he's the antagonist of the drama), so far the group has, as far as I know, released the 1st episode w/ eng subs

Gee, I'm not even sure chungieboy (the dude who's writing the episode guide) has even finished watching it, what with college and all. It's supposed to be 40 episodes.
As for the characters' names written in Chinese (pretty sure these are correct...):

want me to ask my mom? she finished watching the drama during the weekend =P
all i know from listening on in my mom is that XYZ and her brother's parents were killed by the King, and the two were intending to take revenge (not sure if they it was the King that was involved in their parent's death), and LFY drugged them and inprisoned all of them so she could extract a bargain...she's gonna force YQ to marry...
