How to Post Images
classblock ulclassliRight-click on the image you wish to include in your post to bring up a contextual menu classblock ulclassliFor example, right click on the banner graphic below from my company web site, Web i18n (i18n is a computer industry abbreviation for internationalization)
classliIf the context menu includes something like Copy Image Location, click it classliOtherwise… classblock ulclassliClick Properties classliSelect the Address/URL/Location. If you are using my company's banner graphic above, you should be selecting/highlighting the text that says http://www.web-i18n.net/images/banner.gif classliCopy the text to the clipboard (typically, Ctrl+c or ⌘+c). classliClick the Insert image button. classliPaste the text from the clipboard (typically, Ctrl+v or ⌘+v). classliIf you've been using the example above, you should now see the following text at the end of your post: classblock center[img]http://www.web-i18n.net/images/banner.gif[/img] Note: Advanced users often just type the [img] and [/img] directly instead of using the Insert image button.

If you don't already have a public web site where you can upload images, see the list of free image hosting sites from the Tips & Tricks board.

Re: How to Post Images
Yes! I’ve just printed off copies of Image Posting and Spoilers to insert into my Let-Me-Take-You-By-The-Hand-And-Walk-You-Through-This 101 file! Excellent!

Re: How to Post Images
ccwf, this is positively super info. Much appreciated.
nchristi's comments re saving this info, prompts me to tell you, I tried to do same; for some reason, despite adjusting margins, font size, etc., I am always minus about 8 characters on right margin. This has never happened before, as I have printed various topics/threads in order to have all this expert advice on file. Why is this now occurring? Did the format chance so drastically w/advent of those great new buttons? I read your instructions under forum changes (Aug. posting) re browser changes and IE requiring 'style sheet'. What would that be? Understand the first part of instrucs, but, style sheet?
P.S. Now I know why some of the pics could not be posted; they were from private sites.

Did the format chance so drastically w/advent of those great new buttons? No, it's just due to Runboard not writing their code to handle printing pages containing wide images. That Runboard bug causes printing problems with wide images at any Runboard site, not just this one.
As for how you can deal with it, the easiest thing is to try printing in landscape mode. Go into Page Setup in the File menu and switch from portrait mode (the default) to landscape mode. That will make the page print sideways, giving you more room for wide pages.
If using Firefox, Page Setup also lets you scale the page when printing so you can print the page at 60% size or whatever is necessary to make it fit. With Internet Explorer, there is no simple way to scale the page for printing.

Re: How to Post Images
How to add an image to your post
•If you want to add an image to your post that you have on your hard drive, you must first upload it to a image host site such as ImageShack or Photobucket. (It's free and easy to use)
•If you want to add an image that you find on the web you can just *right-click(PC?), and copy the image url to your clipboard. (See ccwf's first post in this thread for details)
* I think it's a right-click for you PC users (Control-click for Mac)... I'm not too sure, I've used Macs since 1985 and have never used a Windows machine... ever!!! (believe it or not) LOL!
•Anyway... Let's say you have a picture on your hd that you would like to attach to your message. Here is how you would add a image to your post... we'll use Justice the dog for our example.
•Step 1
Upload the image to a host site like ImageShack, use the Browse button and navagate to your desired picture... click Host It
•Step 2
After the image is uploaded, you should see a page like this. You will have a choice of url's, some will create a thumbnail previews, some have links back to the host site... I usually use the Direct Link... whichever one you choose, copy the url (with the image tags).
•NOTE: You can skip Steps 1 & 2 if you are going to use an image found on the web... just copy the url using the right-click or Control-click method mentioned above.
•Step 3
Click the Insert Image button located right under the Post Icons.
•You should see a drop-down window... paste your url here... Click OK.
•Step 4
You should see something like this in the message window. This will add the image to the end of your message. If you want to have the image somewhere else, like at the begining of your message, you'll have to cut & paste the url manually. (Don't forget the image tags)
•NOTE: If this is too much of a hassle. You can just add the image tags yourself from the get-go, this way, you can insert the image where you want it in the first place and skip all that drop-down window stuff. (This way is actually easier and faster, IMO)
•Step 5
Click Preview to see your message... hopefully it should look like this.
Hope this may help... and wasn't too confusing!

For Step 1, instead of going to ImageShack's page and using their Browse and host it buttons, members can also use the convenient Browse and Upload Image buttons on the post composition page. The result is the same: the image is uploaded from your computer to ImageShack.
(Of course, then continue with following bubu's steps two through five.)

I don't know how I missed those buttons, especially the GIANT text when the mouse rolls over!

Re: How to Post Images
Thanks for the instructions. They were very helpful...One more question, for Avatar creations, do you need to add the image tags also?? Or could someone show me how to do it? ...Thank you in advance.
