Is there any place that shows a list of all the Runboards currently up and running? How does a person find new and interesting places to visit (other than a subject search via search engine)?

There's no list of all Runboards as far as I'm aware.

However, there is The Advert, a Runboard for advertising Runboards.

Re: Runboard FAQ

In the past, each time I posted a reply the board would automatically bring me back to the screen that would show that particular new post. For the last several weeks or so, this is no longer consistently the case. A very rough estimate is that one out of five/six times the screen automatically brought up will be the last page containing my latest post. The other five/six times will bring up page 1 and then I have to click on the last page if I want to go there for a quick edit once over. ?

For me, it's always last page after a post, first page after other operations (like editing a post).

OK, you're right about this. Was it always this way? It seems as though, even when posting an edit, it used to return to the last page. Maybe I'm not remembering accurately.

I don't remember, but it's been this way for a while, at least.

Re: Runboard FAQ - Connection Refusal

During the last week or so when I attempt to access this board, I sometimes get an error message stating the connection is refused. Then, later, no problem. I just tried Soompi and the same thing happened.

What are the possible causes? Is it a matter of heavy traffic? Or, that the server might be down, or some problem on their end, not mine? (The error message wording strikes me as I'm being refused connection, rather than they are unable to connect me. )

Normally, connection refused indicates the server is down. Occasionally, it can indicate a firewall problem at your end or at the ISP. However, the latter would normally cause problems with most sites and not just a couple.

Re: Runboard FAQ

I don't know exactly where to post this question (and don't want to start a new topic), so will ask it here.

Since star1 changed to Firefox, her posts display odd characters on my screen for certains things such as quotation marks and apostrophies. Here are some examples.classulclassliThe resort¡̅s buildingsclasslia ¡̊wish tree¡± in the coffee shopclasslithe ¡̊Rainbow Gondola¡± to the top[If the above examples appear normal when I post this, what I am seeing on my browser (including in the "Preview" ) is:classulclassli apostrophe is shown as an i with crossbar immediately above the dotclassliopening quote mark is shown as a small i with a degree mark alongsideclassli closing quote is shown as a small i with something that looks like a + sign with a minus sign attached to its bottomI noticed this when she first changed to Firefox and I do not experience this with anyone else's posts. I'm curious as to what is going on and if I need to make a correction on my end.]

Edit: May as well add the other weird things I've been experiencing lately. Just now, I was reading a post from Tangpriest on My Precious Child topic and as I started to move my mouse, (didn't click on anything), I was suddenly on one of your business website pages, ccwf. Even if my mouse "shorted out" and entered a click of some sort, I don't see anything at the bottom of that MPC page that is a link to an inside page of your website. (Didn't look like a main page.)

Also, recently I've quite a few times had appear suddenly on my screen some sort of sign-in/password box for luvnbehappy. That one I really can't figure out.

I've always seen this with star1's posts, even before the switch to Firefox.

If you look at this KBS page but view it with the ISO-8859-1 character encoding (Western), you'll see exactly those characters. So that's my first guess—that star1 has the browser set to force use of ISO-8859-1 as the character encoding, even if the page is really in a different encoding. Second guess would be that star1 is using a very old version of Windows that doesn't copy those special characters correctly.

ccwf, thx for the response. Also, did you see the additional items I edited onto my original post? I may have added them too late for you to notice before you posted your reply.

Interesting. In case this bit of info is of any value to you, star1, I saw no abnormalities in your posts on either my old or new computer until you recently changed over to Firefox. (?)
