Re: K-Drama, unsubbed: I Want to Get Married/The Marrying Type
Wow! Another great episode! Featuring Booking! Bad Perms! And Yoga Extortionists! (not the expected contortionists) Finishing up with the feeling that I'm the only one watching this!
Huzzah!

Re: K-Drama, unsubbed: I Want to Get Married/The Marrying Type
Hey, I’m also watching it – but without English subtitles, and a near-zero knowledge of Korean, it’s always pretty tough for me to really get “into” a non-subtitled K-drama.
So, I’m more-or-less just letting it run in the background, and allowing it grab my attention now and then when something visually interesting pops up (and yes, I admit that Lee Tae-ran can be pretty visually interesting).

Re: K-Drama, unsubbed: I Want to Get Married/The Marrying Type
Caught a couple of episodes but w/o subs I am also having a difficult time connecting w/this story. Though the actors are good (Lee Tae Ran was great in YH as Ja-young and looks very diff in this--much younger).
Fun reading the posts. Booking? . . . who knew . . . that was quite a link. Checked the yoga link -- neat background info -- love yoga, but wasn't aware of all that background info. Thanks for that.

Re: K-Drama, unsubbed: I Want to Get Married/The Marrying Type
Seems some of you are also watching.
Like you I prefer subbed dramas but unsubbed ones are not a total loss. When watching unsubbed dramas I pay more attention to the character's expressions and their body language. Everything else I pick up from context: at work, out and about, and at home.
Blogs written by Westerners in Korea universally pan Korean TV but I've found them greatly influenced by American culture and entertainment. And I mean more than just playing the music. The K-dramas I've liked tend to deal with the clash between old and new and finding love among peers. While these are universal themes the K-dramas tend to use American idioms such as unlikely partners and the difficulty of relating in an urban post-industrial setting.
But enough media criticism, here's a fun link. Even though she's a cradle robber, Seung-ri is starting to grow on me.

Re: K-Drama, unsubbed: I Want to Get Married/The Marrying Type
One of the curious things I’ve noticed in this drama is that in Korea (it seems) news reporters are allowed to proceed “Code-3” (red lights and siren) to a news story.
Man, could you imagine that being legal here in California? High-speed chases with dozens of TV news vans racing behind the CHP cruisers at 100 miles per hour? Scary!

Hey mikey, I envisioned that code 3 and it was rewarding. Now I see the media pleading for the rights they rob others of -- innocent until proven guilty.

Re: K-Drama, unsubbed: I Want to Get Married/The Marrying Type
Some good Ally Mcbeal reveries came from Lee Tae-ran's sleepover. Not to mention we now know what she sleeps in. It seems the job for the week is pastry chef so we get to see her in that outfit too.
Busting the adjuma ring was good too but that doesn't compare to the cliffhanger --now that's fertile! Anyone care to bet that its the rich guy's?
P.S. For the record while the doctor in Sweet 18 (and OMR) mentioned that nausea happens mostly a month after the onset of pregnancy it's not too unusual to be affected as early as the first week. Stock up on the Saltines!

The End?
Hey, what happened in the end of the series? I thought it was a bit open-ended......who did Lee Sin-Young end up with?
