MBC-Drama Series (60' * 16eps)

Spoilers!

30 year-old spinster reporter Sin-Young was once called a "troublemaker reporter" but she clenched her teeth and kept digging into her work. Finally all of these efforts were rewarded with a prize for getting a scoop. As every dog has his day, she also gets hers and is offered an audition for news anchor. But again, her destiny doesn't leave her in peace and brings her the news of her long-time boyfriend's betrayal. He leaves her to marry a girl 12 years younger than Sin-Young.
Soon-Ae, a 30-year-old stewardess, is the breadwinner of her family who supports her ailing father, a utterly hopeless widow aunt and another hopeless cousin. To her, her family comes first before anything else and this scares all the men away. There was one man who didn't leave her but he was only taking advantage of her company card that gives discounts to luxury goods. One day, she bumps right into her boyfriend with another woman on the very spot and in enormous rage, she beats him up. Very soon she's introduced as "the Crazy Crew" worldwide and she gets fired.
Seung-Ri is renowned for her numerous love affairs. Hiding this splendid past, she marries a man of a plutocratic family and goes to New York. She proudly returns to Korea to give birth to her baby. Then, she shocks everyone when her baby turns out to be white. She gets kicked out from her husband's family as well as her own parents. The source of this misfortune goes back to when she tried to get back at her playboy husband by also having an affair. Though it was only a one night stand with an American guy, she now can't turn back the time. What's more, she hears that her baby died as soon as he was born. From then, she starts her life again in Seoul with her friends Sin-Young and Soon-Ae. class float-left width 47% class float-left ImageLee, Sin-Young (Acted by Myung, Sae-Bin)

The rich guy with the heart of gold.

It seems to be a comedy since no one has cried in the past three episodes. For an unsubbed K-drama I think I'm getting the gist of it though I do sometimes pass out when Lee Tae-Ran is on screen. emoticon

Only watched it peripherally since I was chatting on the phone and trying (in vain) to install Solaris 8 on a Dell.

* Lots of Lee Tae Ran time. She swims!
* Pillow fight to end all pillow fights
* Bar girl gets car fixed and we get an eyeful

Another great episode I cant comprehend --since soompi seems to be having mysql problems. emoticon

Hmm..i checked MBC America's webpage and noted this was listed under Satellite TV:

The Asia Network (TAN)

Address 6430 Sunset Blvd. Suite 1200, Los Angeles, CA 90028
Contact T: 323-465-1100 F: 323-957-658
Territories U.S.A, Canada, Northern Mexico, parts of Panama
Website www.kbfd.com

if that is so, those w/ satellite can get access to what is airing in Hawaii right?

The "LyngSat" website has listings of all the free satellite broadcasts getting beamed down to us Americans:

http://www.lyngsat.com/freetv/United-States.html

"TAN TV" and "TAN TV2" are both listed as being available, free and non-scrambled to anyone in America with a satellite dish (should I ever have find myself facing a departure from SoCal, I'd surely look into this).

Also, just a footnote: I see tht our KXLA- Channel 44 is also listed there. emoticon

Are you sure this is free. I have heard from other people who have Tan-tv from a satellite feed and they have to pay $200 a year for it. Plus they also needed a "smart card" to put in to the satellite box. In order to decode the signal. They get most of what is shown from Kbfd with subtitles plus other shows. Maybe this fee is for people who just sign up through the Tan TV network and get the satellite dish and box from them.

BTW, we just starting watching this drama with subtitles this weekend. I also heard a rumor that we may be getting What happen in Bali after STH ends.

Islandprincess, I can only say that LyngSat tells us that it's beamed down to us unscrambled, so it should be that anyone with a *generic* satellite dish and receiver should be able to receive it for free.

Of course, if you don't have a generic dish (but are using a pay service, like DirecTV or Dish Network) then you'll probably have to pay the provider a whole lot before they will switch it on for you.

Also . . . there's nothing to prevent TAN from scrambling their signal sometime in the future. The option of "Free" satellite viewing, I guess, is never going to be a sure thing. emoticon

I've decided I'm moving to Korea and opening a distillery. Lots of alcohol fueled goodness tonight.

Highlights include,
Pie throwing as exercise.
Beach villas are always good
Wrist slapping is back
Even Bing Crosby makes an appearance
And my second favorite parlor game is Spin the Cell Phone. You hear that SK Telecom?

P.S. The Sting?
