Don't argue with creidesca, she's completely right. We don't have a lot of rules here, but the ones we do have, we all try to follow. Seeing as it was partially my fault, I'll just say I'm sorry and hopefully that'll be the end of that.
basically I'm okay w/ a bit of off-topic in a thread as long as in that particular message you discuss the drama before going off topic
other than that, we have the general discussion forum for our off-topic messages
hmm, don't you think in last nite's ep that there were scenes that looked like it was cut off cuz then it jumped really quickly to another?

Re: K-drama: Match Made in Heaven
I'm not trying to argue with her. I was replying to her message. It's all good. Be happy! Anyways, I can't wait until next Wednesday to see what happens!

Re: K-drama: Match Made in Heaven
Maybe argue was too strong a word, I apologize again. "Be happy" sounds good enough for me.
There were a couple of scenes that were very brief and were randomnly cut off. I didn't think too much of it because it always happens in Korean dramas that are too long for the timeslot allotted here. I mean, it happened in Sangdoo where they took out the part where Eun-hwan got hit by the car. It happened in "Running After Dream," so naturally I figured it'd happen in Match too. I thought some of the editing was bad though because at one point, Suk-go and Jong-hee were eating at some restaurant and then mid-conversation the scene changed. I don't really mind if they cut stuff out, as long as it's not too important and that it's done correctly.

true, at least for Bodyguard epis, you couldn't really tell scenes were cut off...these people should really watch what they edit to make sure it looks right
anyways, for the 1st ep, we were getting over 45min worth of an ep (cutting out the commercials)

Re: K-drama: Match Made in Heaven
oh man, i told myself i wouldn't watch anymore dramas until summer, but i just happened to see part of episode 1 last night and part of episode 2. this has turned out to be pretty good, i'm surprised that ahn jae wook and hwang shin ae are paired together and exhibit some surprisingly good chemistry. i'm even more amazed that hwang shin ae is still acting and that she looks great for a post-40 year old, although its pretty obvious she's had some work done. considering that the 2 main characters are quite old, i still find myself attracted to this drama and their chemistry.
what really makes me angry is the heavy editing they do on these dramas sometimes. i understand that it is necessary, but sometimes it is just ridiculous. last night there was just a barrage of scenes that just jumped from one to another. at first, the guy ahn jae wook plays is arguing with the girl hwang shin ae plays about not wanting to pretend to be her boyfriend, and then like the next scene he is fully into pretending that they are together. and then on the 2nd date, on her taxi ride home, it seems like they are all lovy dovy again. they go from fighting, to threatening sexual harrasment lawsuits, to flirting, then to longing, then to being best buds again, what the heck??? its the damn editing, it makes it too jumpy. well, at least its subtitled, but that never really mattered anyways. good start to the show, but they need more younger actors too.

Re: K-drama: Match Made in Heaven
Yea, I thought that the editing done on the Bodyguard episodes was actually really good in comparison to others. I think the best editing done on any drama so far was that of "On the Prairie." I couldn't even tell that there was any editing done on that drama at all.
I think that more drama is aired during the MBC timeslot since it's an hour long instead of just 45 minutes for the KBS. Sure there's another commercial break in between, but it's only about 5 minutes long. I actually prefer the arrangement made during the MBC broadcasting because a lot less of the drama is left out. No matter how unimportant it may seem to the storyline, I prefer seeing all of it, even if it may seem boring or just not as good.

yeah, i dont' mind editing if it is done skillfully and flawlessly. i agree, on the prairie was a really good drama and the editing was done in a way as to not take away from the main story, it made transitions between scenes flawless. of course you could still tell there was editing, but it didn't detract too much from the main show. its amazing when you actually watch the full korean episodes how much is taken out in some of these dramas.

actually, before the english subbed epis appeared on KSCI for those certain MBC dramas, most of the epis aired were only 45min if you cut out the commercials (I know since I had been taping several of the previous MBC dramas that were w/o subs...even the epis of Running After Dream which were not subbed were 45min or less)
I think it was around this 2004 New Year that KTAN began to change w/ regards to the timeslot for the Wed/Thurs drama likely because the subbed epis are from KBFD in Hawaii

the timeslot before the subbed epis for the Wed/Thur drama was from 9:35-10:30, now it's 9:35-10:40
