Creidesca, I currently use rabbit ear antennaes in my room, and I'm not receiving any reception at all from KXLA.

Ep 1 seemed pretty interesting, but I missed the first fifteen minutes since I thought there would be some golf thing like with TofE. Oh well. It would be nice for a small recap, if possible.

Re: K-drama: 부모님전상서 (Letter to the Parents)

The 1st 15 min introduced Ah-ri & her father, a wealthy man. The father, I guess, called the bank & the rep that showed up is Ji-hwan (bf of Ah-ri & I think the father knew this so he confronts Ji-hwan). The father asks Ji-hwan why he's giving his daughter a hard time, why he won't marry her, etc. The father tells Ji-hwan he heard it's bec. he's a wealthy man & what's wrong w/ having money. Ji-hwan couldn't really respond. He seems like a quiet sort of man. The father tells him not to make his daughter suffer. Meanwhile , the daughter (Ah-ri) visits Ji-hwan's family bearing fruit & other gifts for Ji-hwan's dad's b-day. Ji-hwan's mother (Ohk-wa) was surprised to find out Jih-wan has a gf. Apparently Jih-wan never mentioned about them to his family. Ohk-wa was also stunned as she saw Ah-ri out & sees her Mercedes Benz. Then we learn that one of Jih-wan's sisters is married to Cha-soong(?). They have a daughter & a son. The son is autistic. The daughter found out her dad was cheating on her mom & lets her dad know she knows. The night before it sounded like the dad (Cha-soong) was drunk & threw his wife against the wall where she hit her head. That's why the wife was all in pain. Ayuki, I don't know where you picked up, but I think that was the 1st 15 min of the show.

I do as I please.

creidesca is this also called "Parents Approval" or is that a diff drama?

Anywayzzzz -- How long will this run? I like the one actor who played Soo-Ae's husb. in Carousel. Wonder when this was filmed because he looks much younger, thinner here. He is also a singer w/nice voice!

(Will this r a i n ever stop?)

Re: K-drama: 부모님전상서 (Letter to the Parents)

After watching the first episode, I wondered if I could take another K-drama full of disgustingly abusive jerks. This guy--Chung-Soo--is worse than any previous abusers I've seen in K-drama.

Then there's Ah-ri's father who treats his wife worse than any doormat I've seen in a long while. She can't even speak without him saying (without looking at her, mind you) Who is it! Her pitiful It's me then prompts his dismissal of her as not having a right to open her mouth in the first place.

Not an abuser, Ji-whan is another one. First, it's the same actor who played GP's psycho stalker in Terms of Endearment; second, his character is so maddeningly non-verbal that it'd take a crowbar to pry open his lips. He seems 100x's worse than his father (and you notice how Mom (Ok-Hwa) had to resort to minor shock therapy to engage Dad in a serious conversation). (Where's that sledgehammer.... emoticon)

Thankfully, Episode 2 revived my hopes that I will probably be able to enjoy it when all this initial baloney passes by.

[b\nchristire 'stalker' -- I think this guy needs a makeover by those 3 guys who used to have a tv series -- don't know what it is about that actor but he is always given strange, dark roles and it is a real turnoff!

I like Ah-ri (bunch of grapes girl). Right out of Carolyn 101. Go girl! And, as for Ae-ri the girl who stole YT from Eun-Pa in TofE -- this is a super role for her. Much better!

Hopefully this will move along.
