Re:

OK, a deleted scene from Tues nite: Jaeseong stops Seyeong outside their building and is trying to get her to admit her feelings and she hands him back the necklace he bought her. From across the way, Juhui is watching as Seyeong walks away, leaving Jaeseong looking sad. She calls Seyeong into her office and tells her, "I want to talk to you as Yerin's mother" and starts asking if there is something going on between her and Jaeseong. Seyeong tells her it's her private business and she should have to discuss that at work. She leaves the office and Juhui makes some comment about how Seyeong acts (forgot what she said but it was very negative about Seyeong).

Re:

The story that I recall from one of the first episodes about how the family "lost" Seyeong came about because the brother (MinGook ?) came home drunk one night feeling sorry for himself, he was angry at his mother because he was recalling how when Seyeong went missing, Juhui their mother refused to ask the police to help find her because that would have been public news and would have hurt her career in television. So instead the family only have searched for Seyeong through private agency's only.

Later in the episode Juhui alone in her office mused to herself if she had stayed with the family instead of returning to work after only two days off (she was supposed to be on a week long vacation with her husband and kids.) that her former husband wouldn't have gone out drinking, leaving the children alone in the car all night long Seyeong wouldn't have left the car to find a toilet and had become lost and never found again.

So to protect her career in television Juhui adopted Yerin to be her daughter in case anyone raised concerns about her family's status after her divorce from her husband. But her friend Misook knows the truth about her family and life, and that's really why she's against the paring of Yerin and her son Jaesong (Jaeseong?). I've yet to see any reference to what her former husband's name ever was, all we know as of now is that he now lives in the United States and not much else.

Thanks TomCat,I can see now why Juhui feels some guilt. It will be interesting to see what she tells Seyeong once they are reunited.

I seem to recall that Donguk had worked for the Choi's back at the old bakery and the Choi's stayed in contact with Donguk after he went to prison...Can't remember the why's Donguk did time for ( any takers for that answer? ). So that after Donguk was paroled he went to the Choi's new address for their bakery to thank them for remembering him through his imprisonment. And Mr. Choi offered Donguk a job right then and there. This is another reason why I can't stand that Grace wants use Mr. Choi and his supercilious mother to taker over the Choi family.

Could someone please tell me why Seyeong is still playing the spineless doormat to all the bad players in this series? When is she going start being a adult in this show? At least tonight Guein planted a kiss on Donguk. I'm now rooting for her to pair-up with Donguk over the spineless divorced sister with the cute kid.

Sometimes I have to laugh at Grace`s demure ways and language in her efforts to entice the Choi family, because we know she is a loud, rough talking former porn actress. Seyeong still hasn`t found out her DNA sample hasn`t been registered, but I expect after a few more Yerin dirty tricks to finally lose her cool.

We are only in the 30s right? This series will run for more than 100 episodes, so I don't expect anyone to learn anything in the next ~70 episodes.

However, am loving the sticky situations Ilyeong is experiencing while living with her in-laws. Poor girl can't catch-a-break with those in-laws.

Speaking of inlaws - is it customary for a married couple to live with their parents?
I'd hate to live in Jaesong's household - that's for sure!

Re: K-Dramas and In-Laws rules of order

I have no clue as to the why in most of these family style k-dramas (soap operas) that we are watching lately none of the newlywed couples ever start in a small dinky apartment somewhere, maybe in the primetime urban settings of k-dramas regular couples get their own apartments after they marry ( or as we do here hook-up ). At least in this show and "Lee Soon Shin is the Best" on Saturday nite.

I remember about a hundred years ago or so, the look on my first girlfriends face when I asked her if we should live together. Really, so not cool.

By the way watchumlots I think we are already in the 50's as of the week of Aug. 25th. on KXLA (Los Angeles)

Re: Sherlesin, Yeah I can not wait of it all to hit the fan for Yerin and Grace's dirty tricks to be exposed.

Re:

I am sure that if we were to give 30 more eps Seyoung will eventually discover the truth. But the main question is what is she going to do about it then. As someone stated earlier why doesn't she get any spine. emoticon

In regards to that I think there can only be three reasons why she is taking all this lying down (or is it standing up)

1. The writers want us to feel sorry for her. (To be more honest I feel more sorry for the characters that pull all those nasty tricks.) Guess they don't know that Karma always kicks in and when it does it always collects.
2. The writers want us to feel so frustrated that they expect us to smash our tv sets so that we can't watch shows from their rival channels.
3. All of the above. emoticon

While it is true that Gieum kissed Donguk I have to wonder does it even count since she was drunk. Don't know much about kissing customs so will have to leave it to those who are aware of them.
I guess the second sister hasn't done anything yet not because she is a coward (though she is quite timid at times) but because she senses deep down that this may be a mistake due to age difference and plus that she was married and has a kid already. So what people may say and think may effect the marriage plus she does have a jerk of an ex-husband who wont stop to slander her and her family. Can't say that he may have fully reformed yet though I hope that he does even if they don't get back together.

While Seyoungs bio-dad has been revealed to be living in the States I doubt that he will be coming back into their lives anytime soon. Perhaps near the end of the show. The reason I say this (and not because I am ahead of you by a few episodes though Fridays are back to single episodes now.) is that I am basing this on this. If the husband has gone on to the States that would indicate two tho things.
1, That there is a 99% probability that he is now divorced.(Otherwise there should be some pictures in that house of him) Though come to think of it I really don't sense any warmth in that house. So I must congratulate all the people that have actually managed to live there for so long.
2. Following the above logic the Dad must have moved on with his life. Sure even if his daughter is found due to the lack of warmth in that place I doubt that he will so up to meet her.

In regards to people living with their in-laws. I am sure of how to say this but from what I have gathered it is something like this in atleast some of the Asian areas that I know about.
They do it out of respect mostly for the elders. Ie the parents have taken care of the children for quite sometime thus when the parents can't take care of themselves it is felt that it is upto the children who are now grown adults do the same for their parents now. Thus it generally comes down for the adult son to do so. But if he can't do so atleast his siblings should help out in some manner. Thus the parents can stay with the son at his place instead of the opposite. Plus they need to stay with atleast one child (so all of their children don't have to be in that house just one) incase of an emergency.
For instance when I was studying I was living with my Aunt. Over there my grandmother was living with her. (as she was to old to live on her own) and one night while she went to the toilet in the night she slipped and fell in the tub. Fortunately I slept in the room with her and heard her when she fell down. So I rushed for help and we managed to get her out. But she couldn't walk as the strain was bad for her) Had she been living on her own we would never have known till much later and more damage could have taken place or worse.

In Ileyongs case though the In-Laws allowing to live with them is more of a favor to her because of her husband. The husband should have his own place but he is living with his elder sister. Both of them should have moved out and live independently Unfortunately due to monetary problems that wont be happening anytime soon unless the husband makes it big in this next film that they are working on.
Speaking of film making what was Minguks role in it. Was he just the writer as well? If so I do feel sorry for him. Was removed due to a girl. emoticon But girl was someone who took care of his little sister so all was good in the end emoticon .

Donguk might have met the Dad in the prison because no one else in the family seemed to recognize him and he had to be introduced to them. Plus if he knew the family from the start the entire debacle at the Sauna wouldn't have had to take place he could have easily gone to one of the sisters to ask them to help them out. I may be mistaken and it is possible as someone said above that he worked in their old factory. If so let me apologize in advance.

I am actually loving Seyoungs family for the brief moment but I know that I am going to regret saying that in the next few episodes. Guessing what comes next emoticon

So far I have counted 5 slaps on this show.
this is the countdown.

1. Seyoung (By Yerin and first slap)
2. X (got Slapped 3x so far. by 3 different people as well)
3. Y (got slapped just once so far)

I do wonder how many more are to come. Can't wait for that.
Jaseongs grandpa is really starting to get on my nerves now. Please get over your Yerin obsession. It is starting to really creep me out now. Perhaps you now need to keep an open mind. So far your grandson has shown no interest in Yerin so far and I doubt that he is going to do so in the near future (unless he is mind controlled, gets a bout of amnesia or blackmailed by XYZ). There is a 99.999% probability that he will end up with Seyoung unless the world ends or she gets abducted by Aliens. I doubt that Seyoung is going to back down from her man anytime soon once she acknowledges her feelings for him. Granted things wont be easy for her once she moves into his house but then once again things are never easy in love and you have to work hard for them. Granted she wants her husband to move in with her family but I doubt that is ever going to happen. Due to Jaseong being the Eldest and knowing what is family is like. Problems in Paradise already emoticon

Well that is all from my end for the moment.
Hope to hear from all of you soon
Till then take care. :i
